Hello! Sorry if this is a duplicate of an earlier thread (I searched around a bit but wasn't able to find one discussing this). I submitted a three part (~9000 words) series about two weeks ago and have not heard anything about it yet. I haven't submitted anything for the NT for abut seven years so I'm not sure if this is typical but I recall from my old days of writing generally one would hear back within a week or so, at least for entries with words count less than fifteen thousand or so. I've also seen passing reference here and there to entries getting "lost" so I suppose it's possible that might've occurred as well. Anyway, just wondering-- for those who have more recent experience submitting slightly longer entries, series over 8000 words say, what is the usual timeline for receiving an acceptance/rejection Neomail? If you don't hear anything after a certain time period is it advised to resubmit? Or does hearing nothing indicate some sort of... super rejection? Thanks very much for your help!

Hey there! :3
While I'm not a series writer specifically, I can say at least that the timeline on submission feedback is generally around 2-4 weeks, of course depending on length of entry. Written series usually take the longest, so two weeks isn't unusual. And if you ever get concerned about an entry being lost, you can check by trying to resubmit with the exact same title; if it says you've already submitted with that title, then that means the original is still in the system. You can also NM the current editor, Aesop, at tnt_aesop with questions if you prefer!
At the same time, written series and the NT are in a rather unique position right now. Series have been more difficult to get accepted lately due to a cap of three series per NT being established; I'm unsure the current status of this cap or the best strategy for submitting a series right now, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can shed light on that.
The NT also recently turned to biweekly updates, so that may likely impact submission feedback time as well. For now at least, I'd say it may just take some extra patience but there's still a chance for your series! :3

Thanks for the quick and detailed response! Yeah, I read the thread about the series cap + news update on the biweekly release. I figured publishing a series may not be the easiest route Maybe I can try and trim it into a short story... Thanks again for the response! UPDATE: guess I posted too soon! I got the TMGE rejection message this afternoon. I'm probably a bit rusty...
