Issue 828Then he turned his head and looked at the Spyder, and he saw how soft and furry it was, how round and intelligent and gentle its eyes were, how its body had a warm little heat and a beating heart, and how it trembled when the thunder rumbled. All his horror was swept away with the tide, and when the tide came back it brought a tender pity.~rrooaarrrr, Spyders, Seafoam, and Slow Rainy Days ArticlesNone Short StoriesNone ComicsFruit Machine Flounder by Euphemia The Floating Islanders: Ultimate Weapon by Themeguy Scorched by Huntress Series TWELVE Tips to Help You Succeed in Life:Part Eleven by downrightdude The Shadow of Takeryuu: Part Five by @surfersquid Looks like both editors took on the Editorial this week, as some questions as an explicit note saying they were answered by Scrappy. Either way, the Editorial is definitely an upgrade on last week's. Guess Jade got the notice to up quality on the writing and question choosing with such a dramatic shift, as well as the note at the very beginning x3; Also, the news image is again a picture that I can't seem to find anywhere in the actual issue, so I just pulled one that I liked from the front page. If I missed anyone, let me know!

Y'know, with the amount of comics made entirely of site images not just in this issue, but just in general lately, I'm getting some serious flashbacks to the early early days of the NT. Original art comics were more the rarity those days, and while that's still not quite the case now, it's still kinda interesting to me how things have gone full circle in how common site art is used. At the very least, it's making me want to go back and binge through the NT archive, something I haven't done in a while lol. Scorched by HuntressLol part two of annoying the Healing Springs Faerie! \o/ I think it's even more funny for me because, in my Neo headcanon, she's also always kind of getting the short end of the stick in terms of patrons and the situations she lands in x3 Her secondary title should just be the Stress Faerie x3 And haha, lol yeah fire and getting burned just happens to be a connection between a number of the daily wheels, doesn't it xD If only you could get an extra prize for landing on all fire related spaces in one day like Shad (which of course would also be related to getting badly burned! The Floating Islanders: Ultimate Weapon by ThemeguyxDD Oh nuuuu, poor Tor and Roberta xD Lol that punchline is great, it really does make you look twice at the plot and question how The Darkest Faerie's standards must've lowered over the years x3 The expressions in the last panel are great, and I'm also really digging TDF's pose in the first one. It's just really dynamic with a lot of nice foreshortening and angles. Good job! Fruit Machine Flounder by EuphemiaAw, oh dear xD I guess doing the same thing day after day will wear on you after a while. Also has me imagining this going on for years, like the Aisha is just always showboating, and the Kau is finally trying to stand up for themself and let the underdog win for once x3

Re: site art comics, I kind of wonder if those were weeded out more in old Droplet-days. Using site art doesn't necessarily mean the joke or setup will be bad, but maybe it was one of the deciding factors for putting them on the backburner when the comics section was busier. I once co-wrote an article with Dan about the behind-the-scenes in the NT and asked Droplet how many submissions she gets per week in order to set the article up. Among other numbers, she said around 500-1,000 comics per week. It's a pretty safe bet that the pickings are much slimmer these days. Re: my comic, we seem to share that headcanon xD I recently cooked up an idea for a comic series with the Springs faerie on the basis of her being stressed out and kinda neurotic in my renditions, but considering the other two series I have in varied degrees of finished, there's no telling when that goes anywhere. Thanks for the review! ^^
