This thread is for when you want to boost your word count, spice things up, or just do something silly to change the pace. Take on a dare to make you think in ways you wouldn't, normally. Dares are a great way to kick-start your creative juices, or just up the fun level. There's a traditional format for dares, although you aren't required to use it. Dare BP = Bonus Points DBP = Double Bonus Points TBP = Triple Bonus Points Example:

This thread looks a bit dead, so quoting some dares from Skype chat for posterity!
[11/5/15 7:20:19 PM] Killix: Dare: Set your MC's house on fire Bonus points: If the MC started the fire Double Bonus points: on purpose.
---
[11/8/15 7:04:01 PM] Killix: Break through that block by randomly writing about something totally different.
Like, if your sci-fi murder mystery story is in the middle of an important investigation scene, suddenly start writing about a family of raccoons living in the forest. 8D [11/8/15 7:04:16 PM] Killix: and end it with your MC snapping out of a daydream [11/8/15 7:06:51 PM] Killix: Bonus points if the MC learns something important from the daydream.
---
Dare: A bomb arrives in the mail! [11/8/15 7:40:58 PM] Birdy: Do I get bonus points if nothing ever becomes of it, and it's just a random bombing with no lasting effects whatsoever? [11/8/15 7:41:36 PM] Killix: Sure [11/8/15 7:42:57 PM] Killix: but you get triple bonus points if it derails your story for a long time, though.

I am not participating but will post dares for y'all's support. <_<
Dare: Include a character who belongs to what would be a visible minority group in the story's setting, in such a way that said minority status is not their defining trait. Bonus points: none, you should be doing this anyways for each character you add by this method without it being obvious you're adding them just for the sake of inclusion.
Dare: Spend an inordinately long time describing the color of something. Bonus points: use an extremely complicated/detailed simile to do so. Double bonus: if the simile completely contradicts the color itself. Triple bonus: for justifying that somehow.
Dare: Write a chapter as if it were in instant message text. (Chatspeak grammar included, where appropriate.) Bonus points: Include realistic time stamps. Double bonus: draw in some emojis where relevant.
