Hello there, I hope this is the right spot to ask this question: How do users (if it's possible) collaborate on a short story or series? Does one write part of the short story and the other write the other part? Does one write the short story, with the other proof reading and inserting/editing their own ideas into it? How about a series?
I have a friend who is interested in collaborating with me, but neither of us really know how to go about doing so. Any help is appreciated!

It certainly is possible! ^_^ (Though only between two people maximum.)
How I've usually collab'd is that one of us starts the story/article/work, and writes a bit on it. (A few sentences, a few paragraphs... just whatever we can.) Then, the other person takes up where the other left of and does the same. And so on and so forth until the piece is completed.
As for a series, I imagine it'd work the same, though I suppose one could write one part and the partner the next, and back and forth until it's done. Really, I'd imagine it's up to the persons involved to decide on that.
I'm not sure on the one writes/one proofreads, though, so I'll let someone else tackle that. ^_^;
Oh, and as for crediting when two people write a piece, when you go to submit the work, down in the "comments" section, you just put in a note something like "This was also written by ______.", with the other person's username going in the blank, obviously. ^_~

The first idea sounds like a good idea-and for series, you and your friend can alternate writing different parts. (You can write every second part)
When you finish whatever you're doing and are ready to send, don't forget to mention in the comment section that your friend was a contributor and add her username so she can also receive an NT trophy.

Thank you guys for the quick answers! I'd definitely prefer the (few) paragraph(s) by paragraph(s) option for the short story, or the part by part series option. We'll just scratch the proofreading and inserting idea, as I feel that leans more work on an individual. Thanks again and have a great evening!
