So, you know how the writers have their Prompt-of-the-Week Club? I thought it would be fun if there was something like that for artists too! =D It's not a new idea, I know we've done similar things before, but I would really like to try again because lately I've been wishing we had something like this, and I can always use excuses to draw more! And of course, anyone who wants to join is welcome to! I think it would be fun if the challenges were a little different each week. Maybe one week it'll be a word or a 'theme'. Maybe the next will be a character or a fandom, maybe then it'll be trying a new technique... I don't know, I think there's so many possibilities! If you have an idea for a challenge, let me know! And of course, each challenge will be open to interpretation by each artist, so you can give it your own twist. The idea isn't to box you in, just to give you something to use as inspiration and set your creativity free. Other notes: - It can be anything, from a sketch to your greatest masterpiece. Take it as far as you want!
- Feel free to post the result here, whenever you're done. (Or whenever you want!)
- If you're feeling particularly creative/inspired/motivated, you can draw multiple things for a challenge.
- You can also take on past challenges if you so wish.
Sounds fun? Then join in! =D This Week's ChallengeDraw something inspired by your current favorite song. Have fun! ^_^ Past ChallengesWeek One: Random color palette [ link] Week Two: Draw something from one of your favorite books.

I'm glad my idea inspired someone! This sounds awesome! I'm not really sure how much time I have to do something like this and PotW at the same time, but I may pop in every so often! I hope you get more people doing this!

This seems like a super fun idea, Ginz. I just took the colors and started messing about, and this happened:

Ooh, very nice! That's some pretty patterning on the outfit.
I started working on mine earlier but commissions got in the way. <_< I'll try to finish it up later this week.

Here's mine! I'd been wanting to draw this character in color for a while.

Gasp! Dinosaurs! <3 That's awesome! Now I'm trying to figure out what species it could be, haha. Not a dromaeosaurid judging by the feet, but it's got hands like one, and the snout seems almost psittacosaurid...
Okay I'll stop. <_< Anyway, lovely job!

I love what everyone's done! =D Kristykimmy, yours is so shiny and cool! That character you drew looks really interesting, I don't know if it's an OC or someone just just made up on the spot, but it's awesome. @surfersquid, that's so pretty! I like how soft and bright it looks, since you used mostly the light colors, and that's a really interesting character as well! Killix, I actually really like that lineless style with solid blocks of color, I think it looks really cool! Your dinosaur is awesome, that was really creative. I feel a bit bad that I haven't gotten around to doing my own challenge, but I'll have time for it on the weekend for sure!

Thanks! She's from a world concept I wrote a while ago and I've been wanting to do more with it lately, so this was the perfect opportunity.
And don't worry, that's what the weekend is for! xD I was worried I wouldn't have time for this until the weekend, either, but somehow some time opened up earlier today while I was waiting for a client to get back to me.

Haha, awesome! Dinosaur mashups are great. I heartily approve. Don't worry, I draw some pretty bizarre dinosaurs too.
Eee this is fun. I wonder what next week's prompt is going to be.

I like this idea; I think it's a good way to get me to do more art - and not just Neopets art For this week's challenge, the color palette made me think of a lighthouse at sea during the night so I decided to make this the subject for the challenge. Here's what I came up with yesterday:

Ooh, nice! Very serene. I definitely see how that palette could lend itself to a nautical theme.

I'm really digging all the art you've all come up with, way to go! =D I decided to try some pixel art for this challenge: Just a couple of characters I've had bouncing around in my head this past week. The color scheme lent itself pretty well to them, I have to say. ^^

Kozma, your lighthouse is really neat! I like how you used gradients for the sky and the light, it creates a really nice atmosphere! Heh, I'm using the challenge as a way for me to do more art too. XD icon, your pixel art is really cool! You definitely made the most of the limited palette. They look great! I'm finally working on mine, hopefully I'll post it later today. ^_^
