Kozma had just exited the Games and Interactive Arcade frustrated that he had spent the entire day playing games instead of painting. He was even more frustrated because he had just lost three straight games of NTWF Kart to Sapphire.
"I bet you're really proud of yourself," he said to her.
Sapphire said nothing.
Kozma looked at his toy kangaroo. "I sure wish you could help me with all this painting," he said. Draco was still gone and Kozma was unsure if he'd be able to keep up with the competition. He'd been doing well so far, having 12 buildings painted by the end of the week, but he suspected that the next two weeks would be more difficult than the first.
As Kozma walked to his next destination, he came across Terra, Tiger, and Fluffle. It seemed Tiger and just shot Terra several times with her paintball gun.
"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!" shouted Terra. "AND WE'RE TALKING IN CAPSLOCK BECAUSE CAPSLOCK IS FOR WINNERS AND ANGSTY ADOLESCENTS IN WAR SITUATIONS! THE LATTER OF WHICH DESCRIBES BOTH OF US, BUT THE FORMER OF WHICH ONLY DESCRIBES ME." She then waved her brush in Tiger's direction, flinging black paint in her direction. Tiger responded by shooting another barrage of paintballs back at Terra.
"We'd best stay away from those two," Kozma said to Sapphire.
Sapphire said nothing.
"You're probably right, Sapphire," Kozma responded. "They may not harm ME but I don't think I want to risk it. This competition is starting to bring out the worst in us."
Kozma continued to wonder if that robot was going to be worth it.
Sapphire, meanwhile, did nothing.

I'm here with a long-overdue post of team designs and writing! First we have a logo for CarQuie's Pizza, Pie & Paint Emporium that I should have posted ages ago, sorry about that: Next we have this lovely Err Behr company logo: Oh, the Hue-Manity! Inc got in on the logo designing fun, coming up with two different styles (The employees of Oh, the Hue-Manity! Inc couldn't pick which they liked best, so here's both! XD): And finally, we have Amberworks's continuing saga: Fifteen minutes later, you’re following Icon and Lizica down the street by the Taco Cart Snackbar, listening to their explanations, bemusedly watching them almost walk into trees as they ramble about exposition. You’re not really here for the science, but they said that you should at least know the basics if you want your house painted.
“So you see, what with summer coming around the mosquito population faces its boom right about now, y’know?” Icon begins, “But the problem doesn't stop there; we don’t deal with your typical insect, though.”
“I don’t quite follow,” you say apologetically.
“Imagine your basic mosquito,” Lizica begins, offering you a cookie as you walk. “Irritating, but they’re a, what’s the word, a necessary evil… Now imagine what could happen to such insects in such a highly-concentrated area of potent creativity.”
“Fhe fhoorhuhm?” You respond as you spray cookie crumbs everywhere.
“Exactly, the forum. The NTWF itself evolves, the biome has created these… super-mosquitoes that are idea suckers, motivation suckers, drive suckers; scientific name for what they take is diforumite creativium- they suck up people’s motivation, leaving them apathetic and irritated. Dangerous during the summer.” Lizica glances at you. “Technically it shouldn't even be possible, but life found a way to pull it off, and now it’s our problem.”
You don’t think that forumine and creativium even sound like the names of elements, but you decide not to comment.
“They’re up against creative thinkers like the town, and it’s up to us to make sure they don’t wreak havoc.” Icon spreads his hands wide, a gesture that would be more dramatic if he were taller.
“And… where exactly does the whole painting and renovations thing come into play?” You ask again.
This time the kid grins. “Amber,” he says, the word hovering in the air like a panegyric. “Miracle material, works like syrup, hardens like stone. Encases insects for thousands of years. DNA collapses over time, mosquitozilla disappears. And we’ve been trying to figure out how to get rid of them for ages. We tried honey, we tried baking soda, we even ran a few samples off the hopes and dreams of small children– only joking,” he says after you pull a double take. “But Lizica was the one who figured out the amber-based paint. Get the solution right, when you paint a surface you can stop your typical mosquito for enough time to re-extract the diforumite creativium, call an exterminator, collect them for further research, whatever you please. We sometimes let it harden and use it as a building material.”
”And that’s Amberworks, is it?” you ask. “A pair of scientists trying to save the town from genetically-altered super-mosquitoes by... painting things?”
They both nod.
“That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard all week.” Keep it up, everyone! Your creativity is off the charts. :D (And if I forgot to post something, feel free to let me know. XD)

Round Nine Summary - Terrobble Paint Jobs painted Splatterboard Park (D3), painting over Oh, the Hue-manity! Inc.'s hard work. This tile is a landmark! Splatterboard Park: You arrive at Splatterboard Park ready to paint, but are unsure what exactly is the building needing repainting. By the end of the day, benches, trash cans, pathways, trees, and every square inch of grass have been covered. Your enthusiastic painting have sent paint splatters across town, hitting two random buildings in the town, turning them your color. The buildings hit by paint are Lupehunter's house (J1) and Pacmanite's house (A6). They currently have 14 buildings painted.
- Amberworks painted Mage Manor (H4), painting over Terrobble Paint Jobs' hard work. This tile is a landmark! Mage Manor: As a thank you for painting their home, the mages have worked together to create a spell aiding you in your quest. "Painty paint!" they chant, "Paintificus paintarum!" With a loud POP, two previously painted buildings in town shift colors to become your own gorgeous shade. How enchanting! These buildings are Icon's house (F2), painting over Two Blue-Hued Kangaroos' hard work, and Leoness' house (G7), painting over CarQuie's Pizza, Pie, and Paint Emporium's hard work. They currently have 13 buildings painted.
- Err Behr painted the Times Lobby Newsstand (H3), painting over CarQuie's Pizza, Pie, and Paint Emporium's hard work. This tile is a landmark! Times Lobby Newsstand: While painting the newsstand, you ask the owner for any inside information they may have picked up. Leaning in close, she tells you of a hidden powerup she stumbled upon the other day! They currently have 9 buildings painted.
- Two Blue-Hued Kangaroos painted Flufflepuff's house (E7). They currently have 12 buildings painted.
- Oh, the Hue-manity! Inc. painted Dan's house (F9). They currently have 12 buildings painted.
- CarQuie's Pizza, Pie, and Paint Emporium painted Huntress' house (H2). This tile contained a powerup! Faded Paint - It seems the paint you used on one of your houses wasn't the highest quality: it's begun to fade already! Time to complain to the supplier. One randomly selected building of yours loses its paint. This building was Fraze's house (C1). They currently have 10 buildings painted.
Lastly, a note regarding some gameplay: after some consideration and seeing how the game's playing out, it seems that some of the landmarks a little bit too powerful. Beginning with round 10, Splatterboard Park, Mage Manor, and the Welcome Mat will each affect ONE additional building rather than two. Hopefully this will keep things a little more balanced and place the focus on more strategy. :) Thanks!

((Wrote this while in the car xD ))
Fluffle dropped the paint brush, her jaw practically on the floor. Her house...what was it doing in Tabloid Town?! She lived in Netwaffle! With...no one! Not only that, instead of a lovely salmon, the house was a violent, taunting shade of blue!
She peeked inside. This wasn't her house. Fluffle didn't have a vast see-through cabinet with messy-looking dragons on display.
But then why...? Was this Kozma's revenge after her shooting him with a paintball? Fluffle peered at the mailbox that read "Flufflepuff". Okay, this was definitely not her house! There was no hoof mark on the mailbox or....
Fluffle dashed to the door and pounded on it, hoping that whoever was inside could tell her what was going on.
A lady with dark curly hair stirred. She would have stretched, and wished she could, because her arms were so horribly cramped. Moaning, the woman kicked off her covers and dragged herself to the front door, her My Little Pony Pajamas nearly catching on the doorknob as she went. Her mouth kept slipping on the doorknob but she managed to open it in the end.
Her eyes went wide upon seeing her visitor. "Fluffle?" She gasped, not used to seeing her "borrowed" character in front of her. "Is something wr--" The woman’s face went into a state of total shock, her jaw muscles slackening upon seeing the color of her house. Fluffle cringed. She was going to get it now. This woman was more than familiar, but Fluffle didn’t dare come closer—she knew what that lady could do to her if she was unhappy.
“AIIIIIIIIIIE! I LOVE this color! Where did you find such a lovely shade of blue? And…” her face darkened ever so slightly. “Why is your name on the mailbox? Ahh, no matter. The NTWFers get my name wrong all the time.” She ruffled Fluffle’s fur. “You’re okay. Go out and paint for me, okay? Let it be known that a representative of the NTWFer, Cassie, made Err Behr proud!” Cassie tried to point in the air dramatically, but both slings restricted her.
Fluffle pbblbpted, “How did you get those slings in the first place?”
Cassie eyed Amberworks’ team, Terroble Paint Jobs’s team, and the others. She narrowed her eyes.
“You don’t want to know.”

Terra stomped through the Tabloid Town square in a huff. She'd managed to acquire a paintball gun of her own - or, well, something that resembled it, anyway. She'd pulled together some old materials from her ghostbusting days to cobble together a gun, and then she'd loaded it with several small water balloons filled with paint.
Its aim wasn't particularly accurate, but at least it made an impressive sight when its shots were fired.
(She was a bit sad that the explosion of fluid looked more like ink than blood - the closest it got was looking like anime blood that had been colored black for the censors. But on balance, black was totally a cuter color overall than red, so she made her peace with it.)
She fired several shots into the air; the balloons landed on the ground in a circle around her, breaking apart and splattering the walls and several passersby who immediately got rather angry. Terra ran.
(Hey, it wasn't called the Splatterboard for nothing.)
Once she'd made it a sufficient distance away, she slowed down and looked at the street she was on.
Right down the road was the Creative Endeavors Art Gallery - perfectly unpainted.
"Strange, for an art gallery, that you don't have any paint on your outside yet," said Terra. "However, you've got just the right person here to fix that. Don't worry, I'm here to help!"
She aimed her gun at the front of the building and fired.
(Thankfully, the balloon narrowly missed the glass window.)

Kozma thought that the streets of Netwaffle seemed unusually quiet.
"Hello; is anyone around?" he called out.
The plush kangaroo he was carrying said nothing.
Kozma was lonely and longed for more than a toy to socialize with. His business partner, Draco, still was not around and now all of the competitors in Color Clash seemed to be absent too. "But they have to be around," Kozma said to himself. "I can see that the town is still getting painted. Where are they?"
The plush kangaroo said nothing.
"I don't know what's going on, Sapphire," Kozma said to his toy. "We better get back to work. I may not know where everyone is but I do know that we need to get more painting supplies fast. We don't have enough to last very long and we are entering the most important leg of the competition."
As he gathered more supplies, Kozma hoped that he would run into someone; anyone.

Post by Tiger on Jul 12, 2013 17:34:53 GMT -5
Tiger yawned and stepped out of her Err Behr red house. Paintball wars on top of days of painting could really take it out of a person. Squinting around in search of Terra, who'd made some knockoff replica and had been the Err Behrs' most persistent paintball opponent, Tiger pulled out her sketchbook. Convinced Terra was off causing mayhem elsewhere, she flipped thorough the pages until she found the Err Behr logbook...page. It tracked the team's hours, houses, grocery lists, and paint supply records, and -
"Holy white weewoos!!" Tiger exclaimed. "That's barely enough paint to stick in a gun and shoot at Terra - I mean, any Color Clash competitor!"
She looked up and down the street - no sign of Azzie or Fluffle. It was going to be up to her to save the day. She headed for the paint store at a run, trying to calculate how much paint the team would need. Well - probably all of it. They were gonna paint the whole town red, after all.
Tiger burst into the shop, gun raised, only to find it pointing at Kozma. Oh. Kozma had been...well, pretty quiet. He hadn't shot any paintballs at Tiger yet. She holstered the not-so-deadly weapon. "Hullo, Kozma. Don't suppose you've seen my teammates around?" she asked, scooting down the aisle to scour the red paints. Why red and blue paint were both in aisle 4 was a question Tiger wasn't going to ask.

"Phew. I can't believe I'm back home..." Cassie muttered as she stretched her legs. While her character and teammates painted, she was relaxing in her house. Being off from work was swell, but without the use of her arms, she could hardly do anything, but that was the least of her worries.
She was bored to death.
Pulling on her long, white, frilly skirt, Cassie raced outside, with a paintbrush in her mouth. Some famous artists painted that way, after all. Some buildings were black, some were teal, some were a crazy shade of yellow, some were blue, some were an awesome shade of red, and some were even magenta! Cassie felt a pang of guilt echo through her. She'd missed so much...
Suddenly, she spotted Azzie and Fluffle splattering paint across one of the buildings. "Pbblbt!" the pony greeted, keeping her distance. Azzie grinned and nodded to Cassie, pleased to have another member on the team, despite her handicap.
Cassie's arms itched inside the slings, but she ignored them and tilted her lips this way and that, until a red flower blossomed on the brick canvas. She smiled, dropping the paint brush. This could be fun.

Terra looked around furtively as she crept down the street, makeshift gun in her hands. Seeing that nobody was around, she cautiously approached the paint store, hoping that none of her competitors were inside.
(It would be horrendously embarrassing to encounter them as she came in to buy more black paint! She would have to, first of all, admit that they had been running low on supplies, and second of all, try to come up with suitably witty taunts to throw at them, which...well, let's just say that she had used up a lot of her cleverness over the past several days.)
She peered into the store, praying that it was empty -
Nope. Kozma and Tiger both stood in aisle 4, looking at paints.
She ducked down quickly, hoping that they hadn't seen her - but she still had to get more paints, regardless.
So she stood up, burst through the door, pointed her gun at them, and shouted, "Put your hands up or I'll fire!"
She glared at them, mustering up as much menace as she could. They wouldn't dare talk back to her now...would they?
