Well, I've made it clear before, I think the Times needs to attract some new blood. Sooo, I thought I'd try my hand at an article, designed to inspire people to write their own articles and stories. There are lots of articles on "how to get into the Times". I thought it might be good to point to some of those in my own article. Does any one (or two) article stand out in your mind? I want something simply stated, with a feeling of encouragement to potential authours, nothing self aggrandizing, thanks. Now I just have to come up with my hook. How does: "Wanted: Writers" or "Mr. Shankley Wants You!" Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, or ideas they want to add here, please do. Please keep in mind my purpose: "To encourage some fresh new writers." Thanks.

^^ For the title, a spoof on those old Army posters could be effective..."We want YOU! to start writing!", or something like that...and for the picture, a poster with the words and in between, a picture of Mr. Shankly instead of the Army guy...or something...I dunno, maybe that's what you were aiming for with your title ideas... I'm just rambling on, aren't I? *nods* I'm in an inarticulate mood. Ignore me.

Yes, yes! That's exactly what I was thinking! Hehe, might as well put the propaganda-rich climate we live in to a positive use, eh?

Sources to look at: I think either scriptfox or shidi once wrote a writer's workshop guide that had quite a few parts called something like "So, You Want to Be a Writer?" Or you could try looking at a guide I wrote here... [shameless self-plug here] www.neopets.com/~MakiKai [/shameless self-plug]

I can't recall who had that particular title, but they've both written pretty good guides. Muas is another source. Sara has a list somewhere of some of the good writing guides that have been written for the NT, but those are the main three that spring to my mind. You could also go to the NT Master Index, the Themed Guides section and click on "Writing Advice."

Shidi wrote the Writing Workshops, and Scriptfox has writen the "So you want to be a Writer" Part 1 and 2. I have actually made a webpage of that list to link to in my future articles. I've recieved enough "how can I be a good writer" neomails that I think it might be necessary. *THE LIST* - msarak.tripod.com/list.htmlThis list is also repeated in a thread at this forum and the NTAG's FAQ page. I have put the NTMI FAQ at the top of the list as I've noticed that most people seem to find most of their questions answered there ^.'

I didn't know there was an 'h' at the end of my name! Well, I guess it's better than having that as a name in real life, then people would be mispelling my name all the time and it'd get tiresome. Some luck that my parents gave me a first AND middle name which are both only two syllables and, in spite of easy pronounciation, and especially prone to being mispelled...
