When I very first signed up for Neopets, I was... wow, I must have been 8. It was twelve years ago. I stuck around for a short time, left, and then came back a year or two later to create my current account. The point is, though, that old account has sentimental value to me, and honestly it's quite a miracle that it hasn't been purged up until now because I haven't been on it since who knows when. But I'd really like to reclaim it. Unfortunately, none of the passwords I've tried have worked... Is it possible to reclaim it? About the only thing I could probably tell TNT about it is the birthday associated with it. There's no longer an email associated with it, for some reason, because I've tried and failed to do email recovery (although it would have probably been a defunct email anyway, I guess). I can also probably guess that the amount of NP on it is less than 1000, although I can't be sure. Would I have any luck trying to get it back, or is it a lost cause? Edit: Or maybe not? Now it's telling me that I'm putting in the wrong birthday, which is really really weirding me out since I know for a fact that I never gave false birthdays back then. ;;;

Your best bet is to send a support ticket about it but unless you can provide extremely specific details of about the contents/history of the account and/or have access to the e-mail you used to sign up with they probably won't accept that it's yours.
In one case I was told (after providing details proving it was me) that the account "was too old and could not be returned." It wasn't even frozen, just had been inactive for 2+ years. I had the password, just couldn't figure out the fake birthday. Eventually with the help of a friend I figured it out, signed in, and have been using it ever since. So just a heads up that the support people you speak with might not always be the most helpful and honest.
It's worth a try, though. Good luck!
