I don't know if this is the right section, so excuse me if I made the thread on the wrong board! I wrote an article and I'm not sure that these RL references are allowed. I've already submitted my article, but I guess I can re-submit it with corrections if needed. So, the passages are: Both the sentences are very similar, I almost used the same words (I've noticed just now!), but they are quite far apart in the article. Thanks in advance for the help! PS: And excuse my poor english: is 11:25 pm here and I'm very tired!

Hope you don't mind me moving this to NT Staff Call but these sorts of questions are better answered here.
Personally, I'd say the seventies thing would be ok but I'm not too sure about the pin-ups, since they are much less innocent in nature. I can't think of anything that could replace that phrase though. =/
I do wish you the best of luck with your article and I hope it makes it in. ^^

I agree with Cele regarding the 'pin-ups'. However, a lot of these were some movie-stars, so you could rephrase it as "It easily reminds of the sunbathing iconic movie stars of the fifties" if the article is rejected.

Thanks both!
I really didn't think of it when I wrote it, realising it could be an issue only once I submitted my article. /facepalm/
And Cele, I don't mind at all that you moved my topic! I wasn't sure where to open my thread!
