Hey everyone,
This is something that has been cropping up frequently, so we wanted to get all the members here on the same page. At the NTWF, we like to maintain a family-friendly image. While we are a bit more lax here than at Neopets, we still want the forum to be open for everyone aged 13+. As well, we are graciously privileged with having Neopets staff members be members here at the forum and we'd like to keep them welcome here.
Thus comes the issue of 'fansites' (websites using the NTWF's name but not on the NTWF itself, including but not limited to: Skype, Tumblr, Facebook etc). Users are more than welcome to set up a site with other NTWFers, but unless it follows the rules of the NTWF, it will not be able to use NTWF's name officially. Instead, we ask that if you clarify that it is an unofficial NTWF site, and that some content may appear there that will not be allowed on the forum itself.
As such using things like urls, titles, tag lines, and other ways of making the naming appear or seem "official" is something we request that you do not do and be conscious of how something will look. Labeling things as NTWF, Netwuff, Netweff, NTWriters Forum, or other commonly associated names for the forum that would make the fansite seem to be the "official" location on that domain or network (disclaimers or no) are something we very much prefer you do not use. We want to protect the name, image, and brand of NTWF, and as such need to make sure there are very clear distinctions between where The NTWF ends and where it begins.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to post here or PM them to a mod.
Thank you,
NTWF Mods
