Yes, it's back! Everyone's favorite "send in anonymous compliments to others and receive compliments from others in exchange"-type event has made its triumphant return for 2011. =D
As can be seen here (2009) and here (2010), Warm Fuzzies is an event Stal spearheaded to spread some cheerful thoughts to others, especially those who you may not talk to everyday but still have some kinds words for. In return, the other participants will take some time to send some kinds words to you. It's a giant circle of cheer. =D
How it works: Sign up here, where I'll compile a list of participants. Next, take some time to think about what is especially awesome about the other participants, and write something complimentary, positive, uplifting, encouraging, etc, about these forumers. When you've completed a compliment for each and every participant, send them to me, where I will compile a page of anonymous compliments for everyone. Once I've collected everyone's compliments, I'll distribute them to their recipients, who will thus be overwhelmed completely by the outpouring of positivity directed towards them. C:
These compliments should be something substantial -- no "you're cool, man"s please. Take some time to really think about the others on the list. Maybe there's a specific instance they impressed you and you want to thank them for that. Maybe something about their personality really cheers you up. Maybe they're simply awesome in all they do here on the forum. Write a couple sentences or a short paragraph to explain to them just how wonderful they are. No doubt they'll appreciate the effort.
As Stal wrote last year: the point is to let others know that they are cared about, that they matter to others, that they make a difference.
A few notes:
There is, however, a deadline for the Warm Fuzzies to be sent to me. Otherwise people will just put them off (don't deny it ;D), so if there's a concrete deadline hopefully that'll kick some people into gear and get it done on time.
The deadline is SEPTEMBER 30, 2011, at 11:59 PM NST (aka Pacific Time).
That's two and a half months, so there shouldn't be much of a problem getting them all done in that time if you plan to do a handful a day. So mark your calendars, plan out your schedule to write 1-2 fuzzies a day for the next few weeks -- whatever you need to do to get it done on time. ^_^ The smoother the process is, the faster I can get you guys your compliments, so please don't wait until the last minute.
Candy has graciously offered to collect Fuzzies for me, so please PM Candy the compliments for me. ^_^
One final note: As stated above, it shouldn't be too difficult to complete these compliments if you budget your time correctly. However, if with this deadline and the warning that these Fuzzies take some time to complete you feel you cannot commit to the effort it takes, please be honest with yourself and refrain from signing up. Just something to think about.

- You must write a compliment for everyone else on the list. This isn't an opportunity to cherry-pick only your closest friends to send nice thoughts to, but a way to let everyone know they are valued and appreciated here on the forum.
- This is not a task that can be done in a few hours just before the deadline. Perhaps write one or two a day until you're finished. If you attempt to write them all in a row, not only will you suffer, but your compliments won't ring as true since you're just trying to get through them.
- If there is a participant that you're not familiar with, pull out your shovel and go digging! Look through their recent posts, read their diary if they've got one, check out their profile. Or better yet, strike up a conversation with them on the Bloids, Taco, PMs or IMs. They'd surely love the effort to get to know them. ^^
- Like last year, there will be no deadline to sign up -- you can join up to the last day. But this means you will have less time to write your compliments for others, and that you may be missed by those who finish their compliments earlier. People may forget to check back and see if there's been any new additions. So the earlier you sign up, the better. ^^
