Me trying to look up prices for various haircutting places. And they're all, like...
Prices: $$
Yes, I know I have to pay money for a haircut. Telling me that the price is money isn't very helpful.

I believe those dollar signs on the quick view are indicators of how expensive a place is. One $ means pretty cheap (you can see it with fast food restaurants and the like), meanwhile $$$ is shorthand to say the place is very pricey for what it offers. Although of course people’s standards can differ on what they consider expensive, so it may take comparing multiple places and checking the $ of a place whose prices you know to use as reference.

Yeah, my issue is that basically that it's extremely vague, depends on one's standards, and requires foreknowledge of how much it costs in the first place. For a restaurant, I might be able to guess. For haircutting, which I only do about twice a year at best, it's not something I think about a lot and don't always know what's high and low standard, so it's very ??. Though yes, it is hard to estimate in a quick search, and it can be nice for a quick glance (especially if the place is "Price: $$$$"). It's just even more of an issue when the place doesn't really offer a range of prices or an estimate on their page either. I think I just work better with numbers as estimates. (On the plus side, I think I did find a decent place where I could get it done. But now I'm second-guessing myself. Even though my hair is being very annoying and this is the proper time to experiment with short hairstyles. It's still a big change.)

Ah yeah, gotcha! Lol yeah, without any other context indicators like that can be less than helpful, especially for places that are less frequented x3

Cutting my hair short was one of the best (non-Important) live decisions I ever made, can recommend, hope it works out well for you too!
I first cut it back to my shoulders, then to a shorter bob, and now my ideal is...idek what you call it, shorter than that. Point being, having short hair is totally amazing, but I remember how anxious I was because I'd had long hair my whole life! So maybe start with shoulders-ish and see how you feel before going further?

I'm glad you've made that decision for yourself, Thorn! Especially since it's works so well for you and looks well on you. ^^
I've cut my hair short before a few times. Usually in the course of donating my hair. (Which I'm going to do this time too; I feel it's long enough for that.) Shortest I think I've had it is a bit up my chin, I think? But that usually results in it being a bob, and while people are fans of that look on me... I dunno, it doesn't feel like me, and maintaining that bob without it getting in my eyes is a bit annoying. I'm a fan of how I look with a ponytail, short or long. But eventually it gets a bit much. What I generally do is I cut it as short as I feel is appropriate for me at the time, and then wait for it to grow out a bunch.
But yeah, this time I've been thinking about cutting it even shorter and it's... a change. I'm thinking of just below the ears this time. (The reason being I like having some hair to cover my ears when I'm getting sensory issues. It doesn't block out much, but it's an extra layer.) Styling it so it's less bob-like will be an issue, though.

You ever have so much to do in a condensed amount of time that your brain just shifts into "eh" mode and you slip into a strange survival-mode version of nirvana? I've got two tests today and tomorrow to study for, a seventeen minute video to make, some written assignments here and there, plus maybe half a dozen meetings in the next couple days. My brain won't let me stress because it knows we won't survive xD

Me upon hearing something bad has happened to a person I care about: Oh no, that's awful. D= ...let me feed you.
I don't know if this makes me a great friend or a terrible friend.

My roommate and I have a number of unspoken agreements about our living space and habits, one of them being the mini-fridge. My roommate is vegan, meaning that she makes a lot of her own meals vs going out on campus or in the city, and thus she takes up a lot more space in the fridge. It's alright though, because inversely doesn't complain when I'm basically like, "Yeah I hope you don't mind my three containers of salsa all open and in the fridge rn, thnks."
(that's not my usual habit, just somehow through various antics this time I managed to end up with three salsa containers, one of them being industrial sized, sitting in the fridge together x3)

My brother: "I might do a level twenty 5E meatgrinder one-shot in a couple months. Here's the basic idea!" Me: "Sounds great! I'm not good at optimising characters, haha. Should go for something I'm good at, like warlock or paladin. But I won't decide on a concrete concept until nearer the time, because doing otherwise would be crazy!"
*three hours pass*
Me: "Level twenty Levistus tiefling, celestial warlock (with a unicorn patron.) Yay!"
(I hope I can at least avoid giving them a fleshed-out personality, because it would be Just Like Me to get overly attached to a MEATGRINDER character, sigh.)

Me going through the store: "Okay, this is kind of tiring, I should really get home, there's all these things going on and things to cope with, maybe I'm not acting at peak form but whatever. I'm just gonna get through this."
*Sees kids selling girl scout cookies.*
Me: "HELLO, I am a model adult citizen who has nothing wrong going on! Allow me to purchase cookies from you and grant you the opportunity to practice real-world skills in an encouraging environment while showing you good adult behavior!"
And y'know? It kinda helped me anyway?

Me, after deciding I didn't want to do a recipe I'd decided on, but already have perishables now: "Okay, I'll search for recipes that include a bell pepper."
Recipes: "Bell peppers and nothing but! The main ingredient is bell peppers! Bell peppers galore!"
Thanks, but... I only have one? ...And it doesn't need to be the main thing, I have other stuff that can be the main component that just isn't categorized or mentioned to keep my options open, I just need to use this??
(I was originally going to make lentil chili, which calls for a bell pepper, but realized that a tomato-y dish might not be the best idea for my stomach right now.)
