Yesterday, I remembered a Cinderella musical that I watched in my childhood and went to look up the song "Ten Minutes Ago" out of nostalgia. And it's a great song that I can't help but love, even though it really can't portray more than infatuation given that they just met each other, well, ten minutes ago.
And then this morning, I realized that it really reminded me of Kelcey Kidde from the Medieval RP. And suddenly it takes on a whole different perspective.

A bit of a story tonight. My mother was out packing some bags in her car for an evening grocery run when a small voice made her nearly jump out of her skin.
"Hello," it said. "Can you help me?"
It was an old woman with curly gray hair, a down jacket, and cord pants. She was shaking on the edge of dark of our staircase by the time I spoke with her. As it turns out, she was visiting the cemetery up the road from us and was about to put a grave blanket on her husband's final resting place. When she closed her door at the grave, however, she wasn't anticipating for it to be locked. Or for her keys to be in the front seat. Or for it to be a mile walk down the hill to the nearest home, ours.
My mother called me downstairs and asked if I could ride along. She offered the woman a ride to her home to retrieve a spare car key. I agreed. But first, I offered a bottle of water to her. With sniffling breaths, she agreed and set herself in my mother's car.
We chatted about our 4-H club, about animals, about the hardships of life and our love of music. Halfway through the trip she stopped crying. We spoke about organs, about harmonies and melodies. When we arrived, she found the key right away and we departed back to the cemetery soon after.
Upon returning her to the car, she gave my mother and I a hug and asked if we would provide our address for a Christmas card.
It was a nice evening.

As a near-complete outsider to the franchise, I don't think I've ever seen the Sonic fanbase so united on something.
I mean, sure, that "something" is an almost unanimous feeling of utter repulsion. Still counts though, I suppose.

Gosh, I just finished watching Haunting of Hill House... What an emotionally exhausting series. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but wow if it doesn't leave you an emotional wreck at the end you're watching it wrong.

This is probably not going to be relatable to anyone, but.. that moment when you keep switching between tú/informal you and usted/formal you when talking to your psychiatrist because you're not sure how to address her XD;

Since I'm out of school, I have no idea whether I should say Dr. [Last name] or John. Saying the latter makes me feel awkward. He says it's okay but I also want to be respectful of him sooo... what do?? I go back and forth in the most awkward way possible. \o/

But then everyone in the department goes by a first name basis, including professors. But that feels too informal to me. I handle this awkwardly and generally compensate by going noticeably overboard.

Looking back, this year really has been a mixed bag of mostly negative experiences. I was listing the highlights of the year on a thread on Neo, and WOW a lot of crap happened to me this year, and even the year before, starting off on November 2017, no wonder I feel like I do now. I really hope this summer gives me time to finally decompress and get myself back together, before the next semester starts.

I tried watching Into the Spider-Verse earlier today, but when I got to the theater, the parking lot was completely empty, and the doors locked. I arrived around the time my planned showing was supposed to start, and it wasn't even the first movie of the day, so... no idea why they were closed. Nothing online or on the doors gave a reason or even acknowledged the lack of, well, anything, so I guess I just gotta hope they'll be open tomorrow.
Tuesday is their five dollar movie day anyway, so perhaps it's for the best? x3

I take back my previous post trying to defend tumblr a couple of weeks ago. Not only did they mark one of my friends' blog as 'explicit' for no reason, but I have been followed by not one but two pornbots after the supposed change to their Community Guidelines. -__- Clearly, it isn't working. It feels like it's only hurting genuine users. Tumblr why. ;-; I tried to have faith in you, but it seems to have backfired on me...

Which, by the way, A+ film, I would definitely recommend it for anyone if they're able to see it in theaters. (although fair warning that it is a very flashy movie, literally. from the very start with the opening credits, there's a lot of flashing lights and colors, and this is an aesthetic that shows up throughout the movie, in case you're sensitive to that kind of stuff.)

Got an email from the programme that helped me get my current job. The gist of it was "congratulations on staying on with [company]. Why not think about your further development with an apprenticeship?"
Uh, yeah, I have greater ambitions than that. Please see the tab I had open for the Master's programme to check how much more I need to afford in tuition for next year. (7/8ths of the way there. \o/)
EDIT: Aaand my boss is like "you know if things don't work out with your masters, you can take a graduate apprenticeship with us? :3" Uh, thanks, glad you like me that much but I am pretty sure the university I graduated from and who always have places on this course will take me back. And if not, I have a plan B. It doesn't involve working.

Why is it whenever my parents are talking to each other, I can hear them from most any part of the house?

Seeing all the praise the film is getting, I'm actually getting a little interested in it myself. Quick question before I commit to seeing it, though: Would I be able to follow the film just fine even if I only have a passing knowledge of Spider Man? (In other words, I know who the most famous characters are and get the whole premise of the franchise, but I haven't read the comics and have only seen bits and pieces of other Spider Man-related media)

I wouldn't say any prior knowledge beyond that is needed, no! I've never read any Spider Man comics myself, and the only movies I've seen are Amazing Spider Man 2, Homecoming, and a few cameos Tom Holland's made in other recent MCU movies. Everything else for me has just been cultural osmosis, so my knowledge is scattered at best. The movie does indeed heavily reference or take influence from the many iterations of Spider Man in comics and on the big (and small!) screen, but next to none of it is presented in an in joke kind of way. The only thing I can think of that'd require prior knowledge is a quick gag at the very beginning that doesn't impact the plot. Everything else is presented in the movie like a new narrative. The protagonists are introduced like they've never been met before, the villains are reimagined, and the more obscure characters are given pretty clever introductions for anyone to be able to follow along.
