Mages
Knights
If any member of either guild wishes to propose an alteration (changing something, adding something, perhaps even removing something) of this alliance agreement, please post your proposal with a reason why we should change the alliance agreement. Thank you. ^_^
Original Opening Post:
Celestial and I, as leaders of the Mages and Knights' Guilds, have been discussing the idea of a formal alliance between our guilds. We both agree that this idea would strengthen the in-world stances of both guilds; the Mages have metaphysical power, while the Knights have physical power, and their abilities rarely overlap. As such, the Knights would almost need to contract the Mages any time a magical threat appeared. On the other hand, the Mages need security and knowledge that they can stay safe in one spot without being ousted for witchcraft or something of that sort.
Those two factors were likely what (in-world) brought the leaders of Mage Manor and the King and Council of Dunburrow to first negotiate an alliance. Now, with King Kabe newly instated as Dunburrow's King, and Mage Manor restructuring itself after the events of the Guild Wars, these two great powers meet once more to negotiate and create a binding agreement between their peoples.
Yes, that's more formal and story-ish than necessary. But hey, it's fun. Anyway when we discussed this via PM, Celestial brought this up: 'I'd like to propose a term concerning trading. We would get most of our basic supplies such as food and metals from the Knights so perhaps we can arrange an agreement which would allow us to purchase them for cheaper or get them in exchange for services. Also, we can establish some protection for each other. We'd protect you from magic and you'd protect us from physical threats which we cannot take care of ourselves.' I agreed to what she said; the first condition (that regarding trading) makes perfect sense in-world. The second, a mutual protection agreement, makes sense in-world and may lead to interesting situations in roleplays.
Those statures are bound. What say you, people of Dunburrow? What say you, Mages of the Manor? This is an open discussion, and I welcome all opinions as we decide what agreement we want to have between our wonderful guilds. Throw out whatever ideas you may have, no matter how crazy they may seem -- some of the fun is in the silliness, after all. But also, I'd love it if this proposal could make in-world sense and have the ability to create good roleplaying situations for our guilds. Keep that in mind as you discuss things.
And now I throw this open; let the alliance's discussion begin!
