((Since I haven't really participated in the new pirate guild... or GW... is it okay if I introduce myself as if I'm new to the crew?))

((You can join in as being new to the crew, or someone who's just been knicking around and joined the crew a while ago. We kinda time lept since our last RP.))
"I guess I win?"
"I guess so." Keng said as she got up to hand her scrub brush to goosh, then the small scroll was taken out and her attention was re-directed. "You know, that green seal matches the colour of my old vest before it got burned three weeks ago." she remarked. This of course had nothing to do with anything, and was just a casual observation. "Well, Stalor Moon or no, I'd like to see what it's about."

Bloody Mary huffed, somehow managing to edge from Hunty's one shoulder to the other. Bob scowled, shooting a glance at him, then leaped into the leather pouch on Hunty's belt. Both meepits glared at the scroll, their ears twitching.
"You two are behaving like little kids," said Huntress, shifting her body weight from one leg to the other. "C'mon Goosh, open it."
"No, you are," snarled Bloody Mary. "Reasonable creatures avoid trouble. Little kids go squee and gather round when they see something that promises trouble."
"We're pirates, buddy," grinned Hunty. "We live for trouble."

Goosher grimaced and poked at the little scroll. He gently scratched off the green wax, and the scroll unfurled. Goosh shut his eyes, bracing himself for anything involving the portmanteau 'Stalormoon'.
But nothing evil happened. Goosh eyed the paper. It was covered in a writing that was strange and foreign.
"Can anyone read this?" he asked the crew.

Zylaa, who had been cowering in the rigging to escape the horrors that she was sure would be visited upon the crew- Stalor Moon is enough to drive small children to tears- perked up and leapt to the deck when she heard Goosh. "Weird writing? Oooh! Sounds cool! I can't read it, of course. But it seems cool nonetheless."

Keng peered over Goosh's shoulder to look at the strange scrawlings, they were complete gibberish to her. "Well, it's interesting I suppose, but I'd much prefer if it was read-able."
The wind picked up a little, speeding them along another knot or two. The brilliant white hull of their ship cut easily through the small forming white caps. A few scattered whisps of cloud had begun to form in the sky, but nothing that could possibly threaten rain. One or two gulls were now visible in the far off sky. A sure sign they were getting closer to land.

Fenrix poked the scroll with her hatpin. "Maybe its a recipe for ninja stew." stared at it harder. "Maybe its a dud scroll bomb? I've heard of those...but it didn't...do anything." She lashed her tail and looked up. "Anyone seen Rider? Maybe she knows about this."

"I'd like to see - at the expense of my poor, unscarred mind," said Kat. "Maybe it might have been an ancient language I encountered while studying...
"What? I do much more than pirating in my spare time, you know!"

Huntress stretched her neck as far as she could, cursing the duties of the quartermaster under her breath. But she was self-proclaimed, so technically it wasn't a duty.
"Keep an eye on the helm," she told the meepits and went to the RCPers. The dark blue petpets jumped off on the wheel, balancing it - and on it - with their body weights. And still snarling at the scroll. Huntress crouched down to take a closer look.
"It's not ninja," she said. "Ninja phail at secret writing. Less experience with map writing and such."
"Maybe it shows something additional when held up against light," guessed another dark blue meepit - they ran around the ship all the time - who had shown up on the railing. "Or against moonlight. Of the light of the full moon on the second Sunday of July."
Hunty snorted. "Well, only one way to find out. Give it a try, ye pirate-mage. We'll give you a proper burial if your head explodes."
"As in, throw-over-the-railing plus some she-was-a-good-pirate-now-back-to-deckswabbing?" Bloody Mary's voice echoed from the wheel.
"Shaddup."

Goosh handed the scroll to Kat. "It's not English or Yurblish...."

"I think Ryder is in her quarters." said Cyborg walking on to the deck of the magnificent ship. " What's everybody looking at?" the kougra asked. " That's a pretty weird looking scroll! Has Anyone figured out what it does? Don't tell me it's one of Stal's How to pull a Beleivable Cosplay scrolls!" gasped Cyborg cringing at the thought.

Goosh answered the Kougra. "It's a mysterious scroll, written in a foreign tongue and--hey! Weren't you supposed to be repairing the leak in the bathroom?"

Ikkin sighed as she walked behind Kat and looked over her shoulder at the scroll. There was definitely nothing understandable there. At least, it wasn't in any language she'd ever seen - and while she only knew English and the kitsune language, she thought she was pretty good at judging what language written words were in.
Though, come to think of it, it did remind her of the languages used in old magical books. It wasn't exactly the same - more spiky and angular than the curved, flowing writing she remembered - but, there was something similar there. Not in a good way, though... Perhaps the scroll had a curse written on it. She wouldn't have been able to sense any magic if that was the case.
"Maybe it's a good thing we can't read it," she said. "I'm sure it doesn't have a curse on it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a curse written in it. I don't know what kind of writing it is, but something about it gives me a bad feeling..."
