Okay, you got your story typed up and put out for the NT/FF.net/some other place. But wait, after you get the story out, what do you do with the old story that's now sitting in whatever word processing program you use.
Does it just sit there? Do you delete it? Or do you do something different with it?

I generally let it sit. ^^

I let it sit there as an "archive" type of thing. I can't bear to delete them and nothing else comes to mind in terms of what I can do with them.

I just let it sit there. Basically, it's like an archive for me.

I let it sit as well. ^^ If it looks like something recent that I could improve a little, then I generally do so.

[shadow=purple,left,300]As much as I would like to let old stories sit around and make an archive of them, I can't, since this is a family PC and I have to clean out the drives every now and then. ^^;;; So unfortunately, I have to delete them.
Although I do go back to my old stories every now and then...I mean, where they are published, like inputting my username in the NT search function for the heck of it. XD[/shadow]

I just let it sit, and reread it from time to time.

I let mine sit. Sometimes I go back and reread them, generally if I think of something, and I can't remember whether I've used it before. And I like having the evidence, as it were, of my writing on my computer - the original copy.

I keep all my copies - rough, final, etc - just because I hate deleting stuff i write. That and in case something happens to the 'published' piece, I'll have a backup.

The copies in my word processor, they generally just sit around on whatever computer I wrote them on and never get looked at again. XDDDD;; That goes for all my stories, BTW. I mean, I still have the word processor copy of The Disappearance sitting on this computer and collecting dust. I think I have a file with my notes and my deleted scenes on here as well. As for rereading... psh, I do that with the published versions, never the word processor copies. Maybe I'm weird that way.

Sometimes I delete it, sometimes I let it sit. Every once in a while, I'll stumble into an idea that makes up the perfect ending for the story. More often than not, though, I end up not caring much for the story at all, and I delete it so I don't have to look at it anymore.
And I do the same thing PFA! I never reread stories I've written unless its an article for my RL newspaper or it gets published in the NT.

Usually I either just delete it or let it sit. I don't usually revive them or anything - my old stories are too horrid. xD

I let them sit.
I also keep the old ones that were rejected and/or never finished. And I laugh at what I used to think was literature. Veeeery rarely do I see a possibly salvagable idea from those, but when I do, I just rewrite the whole story.
I save all my old storytelling entries too, and I watch my skill sort of refine itself over time. It's kinda cool.
