"Can I join too? I'm Puzz! And I can play the piano and the clarinet!"

Meg grins manically. "More volume you say?" She brings about a dozen or so amplifers and turns them all on.

Beej smiled widely; now everybody was relaxing and getting into it. She banged her drumsticks, and one of them snapped and hit Doms on the head. "Sorry!" she called over the din, since Meg had just cranked and added several more amps. She picked up a new set and started drumming harder than ever before. She had a new wave of concentration, and began shouting out words. "They say that after 15 years of no sight or contact, they say you can't be friends ... But here we are on a cruise together ... and our funky music has no ends!"

Beej shouted to Doms, "SING! You said you used to sightread by singing!" She continued to shout out random words. "We've got too many instruments to count, But now hear us all LET IT OUT!"

'Sing anyway!' I bellowed. Then I said to Puzz, 'There's a clarinet in my bag. You can play that if you want.' Then, I went back to playing, going as high and as loud as I possibly could. I loved how much volume a good tenor could get.

Emma grins as she listens to the music. She has always loved music. This was a little bit loud for her tastes, but it sounds so fun, so reckless. Finally, she grabs a microphone and just starts singing. "Today's the day we throw all caution to the wind So go out and greet that stranger who has so long been you friend Names upon names that we all have known for years Today we give them faces and then all erupt in cheers Tomorrow we go back to the places we belong But today and today only we shall intertwine our song The song we play together is written only in the stars Our differences are mingling what was once 'mine' is now 'ours' We may seem completely different but we are one being today And just like the music we create, we fit to together anyway Yes, today's the day we throw all caution to the wind And recognize in strangers a long a dear-held friend"

GLQ then remembers something, and takes out her violin case.
"Can I join? I can play the violin, but I can't sing well!"

Beej shouted back, "Who cares? I can't sing, and I don't give a darn! I'm singing because I want to, and nobody can stop me!" SHe smiled wider, and broke into the lyrics from one of her own songs. "The whole world looks down on you if you make it seem you suck, But everyone looks up to you if you have good luck! You see all these people in movies and on T.V, Do you care about what you see? The singers who can't sing, the actors who aren't funny, All they have is wads and wads of money..."

Beej grinned widely. "Wow, you should be a songwriter! A little too calm for punk rock, which is what I play, but ... you know, you should seriously try it!"

"Unfortunately, I never did learn how to write down music. I know where all the notes go on a sheet and everything, and I know what the tune is supposed to sound like, but I can't tell just from singing what each not is. I just don't have 'the ear' I did get a book of poetry published back when I was sixteen, though. I put some of the song lyrics I wrote in there, and they passed for poems."

In response to the sudden burst of singing, I loudly flew up and down the entire scale of the sax, then added an arpeggio. Then, I went nuts again, started dancing around, blaring out whatever notes came into my head and out of my sax.

Meg grins. "Hey, can I take over piano for a bit?"
