Neopian Times Writer Forum presents…
A Fortune’s Mind production…
Come one, come all, to a game that offers thrills, excitement, deception, and twists like none that you’ve ever seen. From the makers of Neopets Gaming Competition, and from the guy who played Karmageddon, Fortune is proud to present - The Mole: NTWF!
Game Overview
Simple enough, contestants work together to complete tasks and puzzles provided by Fortune, against differentiating rules and time limits, unique to each game. No teams involved, no free for alls. Players work with one another to earn Neopoints to a common pot, held by all players.
A successful completion of a game means that points are awarded to the team. An unsuccessful completion of the game, and the points are given to the Mole.
Who is the Mole? The Mole is really just one of you. The Mole has their own agenda, partially my agenda, in which they are going to try and get the most points possible. For themselves. The Mole is a plant by Fortune, sent to undermine and sabotage the other players and games, while avoiding detection until the final quiz is cast.
Quizzes? Yes… while we do not have teams to compete and while I did say everyone was working together, you are in a sense, working against the Mole. After games are completed and points are tallied, quizzes will be given to all players to test their knowledge of the game, and the Mole. Players who score the lowest, or turn in their quizzes the slowest are removed from the game, and this continues until we are left with the Mole, and the one who detects them.
The Mole
Probably the most fun part to play. The Mole is selected at random, from the list of players whom will be participating. It is the job of the Mole’s throughout the game to attempt to foil the other players and stop them from scoring points. The Mole will always pass the quizzes given at the end of each game. All lost points go to the Mole from any assignment.
Quizzes
This is one of the most important parts of the game. If you cannot touch a computer for at least ten minutes a day, do not sign up for this game. I am not asking you to devote hours upon hours, as every player’s involvement with the game is completely voluntary. Points will be scored regardless, they just won’t go to players, but the Mole. Questions will increase in difficulty as the game progresses, becoming more narrow and specifically geared towards the Mole. Not submitting a quiz before the announced deadline will result in a loss for the player. Ties may occur, and will be dealt with accordingly, mostly handled through first come, first serve.
Exemptions
Exemptions may or may not be awarded to players during assignments, and may be awarded at random, or based on specifics. Exemptions will allow players to skip quizzes after assignments are completed. The player will not be, however, exempt from the following quiz, unless they win another exemption.
Sign Ups
READ: YOU MUST BE ABLE TO TOUCH A COMPUTER AT LEAST ONCE A DAY, FOR AT LEAST FIVE MINUTES. If you cannot do this, do not sign up. Quizzes are paramount, and require everyone’s attention. After two weeks of playing, you find you’re going to the Bush of South Africa for a trip, you better learn to conjure spirits to act as a wireless connection.
Do not complain if you sign up, and find yourself disqualified due to not sending in a quiz. However would you like to take the gamble, then by all means do, but your removal will come eventually.
To officially sign up, simply post an answer to the following (information will be used in game assignments or quiz fodder, pay attention):
1. Forum Name:
2. Game Alias:
3. Game Gender:
4. Game Age:
5. Lucky Number:
6. Favorite Color:
7. Pirate or Ninjas:
*If you would like to be considered the Mole, PM me, and I will place you in a pool.
