I just picked up the new all-accoustic album from Godsmack the other day. I have to say, it is good. Whenever a rock band plays accoustic songs, it always sounds good, I don't know what it is, but sometihng in it...really gives you that cold shiver, you know, that feeling you get when soemthing touches a nerve in ya? Running Blind is the first track, and has a very strong resemblence to Serenity in the lyrical meanings. Then Re-Align is re-done, and while I liked when they re-did Voodoo and Keep Away, wasn't to keen on this one. I like it, but for something, it does nothing to me. The third song is Touche, and this is a new one. It's really soft and mellow, a rarity for Godsmack. The change of pace and the lyrics though, a great combonation. The fourth song, Voices, is a collab with Dropbox(the first band on Sully's record label) guitarist and vocalist. After hearing htis hte first time, I listened to it again. This is the last of the new songs. The fifth is Keep Away. I've heard this one before, but it's better accoustic, since the electric guitars sounded more like an air raid siren than anything. The sixth is your big-meditation song, Spiral. This was a killer in it's original form. It seemed very, well egyptian with the drums and vocals. No, it doesn't have hte prelude track, but htey tewaked in an opening. The final track(yes, only 7 songs ) is Asleep. This is basically a retooling of Awake, and really does a great job in closing the CD out. They do a great job of incorporating a piano
