...if you posted as a guest under the name of someone's username, would it confuse the board? XD I'm also wondering what happens if you were to quote a post like that.

You can't post as a guest under someone's username. ^^;; .. I've tried it before ( my own username, I assure you ) and got some error message stating that the name chosen for the guest post can't be the same as an existing member's name or something along that line.

Which is why you always get the most random guest names for users that aren't logged in.

You can fool it by adding a space at the end, though. *always guest posts as 'Fj0rd '*

Its in place to stop people from attemtping to impersonate (in the bad way) members. ^^

For example, if there was a guest who posted as "Muffin" and then they (or someone else) registered as a member with the username "Muffin" then all of those guest posts will be linked to that new "Muffin" account.

Not anymore... I think that was one of the things that they changed when the forum got upgraded, although it hasn't really been an issue.

I checked, and actually, it wouldn't. PFA's old posts and quoted posts are still guest posts.`
