You should only stop drawing when you no longer enjoy it. Never, EVER stop doing what you love to do...
ever

You should only draw if you enjoy it, you should only stop drawing if you no longer enjoy it, but you should never do either because of what someone else thinks or says.

I have a little shpeel to tell you. If you are thinking about quitting art because you don't think you're art is that good, then you should stop judging it by comprison of others.
look, you're art could improve greatly but so can everyone else's. You will only get better by practicing. if you really like art then keep at it and one day you'll realize how far you've come. You've obviously got some skill, now you just need to build on it. one of the biggest things that will help you improve is to like your art. If you hate your art you will totally lose your momentum.
One of the most important things is your attitude. Think positive. Your art is good. though it's not great it can be. Don't ever say you hate your art. it will just bring you down and make it harder for you to appreciate it. If you convince yourself that you are happy with your art, and that you are determind to improve and increase your skill, you will. Though you shouldn't be totally satisfied and think that it is fine how it is, you should not nitpick too much at it. just know that you will be great one day if you just keep practicing.
that's another thing. Draw all the time, or at least consistantly. At least a doodle per day just to know that you are keeping at it. Draw things that you find difficult, like hands or ... i dunno eyes or something. Focus on increasing your skill, not poking at your faults. Obsess over art. keep it in your head always. If you want to get serious about your work you'll have to start inventing ways to improve. try new techniques also. Train your mind to notice things like cloth folds and the way a particular joint bends and how you would draw those things. and put it into effect!
get a sketchbook and sketch random people. consider personality, emotion, mood, and atmosphere. Try emphasizing different perspectives. overall what you want to do is totally imerse yourself in art. not that you want to be a hermit who does nothing but draw (that would be freaky o.O) but be conscious of it.
Remember to enjoy art as well. if it starts to become a chore and you find yourself frustrated give it a break for a while and go do something else. whenever you find yourself saying "Agh this is too much work." just lay off it for a while. you still have to realize that it is work, but it's also a lot of fun. If it becomes 'unfun' or a drag, think back to why you started to draw in the first place or think about the future, and how good you will be, and how you will have improved in the future. You always want art to be something you want to do. keep your goals in mind, and always enjoy it. It's not so hard, in a few months if your diligent, you realize "wow my art is improving. look at those lines. ugh i can't believe i was proud of that once!" things like this let you know that you're getting better.
Also, try not to over judge your art. While it is good to compare with and learn from artists with more skill, try not to tear it down. When you see an awesome piece of artwork be inspired, not deflated. don't think "holy crap! that makes my art look like kindergarten scribbling!" instead keep in mind "one day I'm going to be that good" trust me you will. but you won't if you quit now. You on a very long road to perfection which none of us never really ge to since we can always improve, but you will get close enough to be happy with what you produce. and the closer you get to it, the more you will benefit and the more others will too.
if not for your own enjoyment, know that there are a lot of people who appreciate it, and as you improve you will inspire other people to succeed as well. well good luck I hope this helped in some way. I just know that it takes dedication and consistant diligence to improve. And you will. We all have a ways to go. just practice and keep at it. and remember to enjoy every minute of it. You have something that could become something great if you only feed it a bit. just keep going, and i hope you never lose heart and give up, you're a very good artist and you'll make even greater things in the future which i look forward to seeing if you decide to continue. (which i hope you do. you better! ^_^)

If you enjoy drawing, you shouldn't stop. Practice is what allows you to get better! Just remember a few simple tips... 1) Draw every day. Sketch, doodle in the margins, whatever you need to do. This helps keep things fresh and gives you practice. 2) Draw from life. Stylization is fine, and fun, but remember that it's all based on something real in the end. Sketch the basics -- learn how things move, how shadows lie across surfaces, how drapery folds, etc. This can be accomplished by simply sketching the various sights you see from day to day. Keep it up -- don't get discouraged!
