Is there anyone here who hasn't received the Page Cannot Be Displayed error? If so, what browser are you using?
I talked to the programmer of the form, and he said it can't be the form itself that is broken because it does go through for us and we are getting submissions. So, what is suggests is that maybe some people try using a different browser, or even clearing their cache. Well, I guess it's worth a try. Any info about this would be helpful.

I tested it out (I entered an article with a bunch of mixed up letters and gibberish), and it still came up with that page. I used Internet Explorer.

I use Internet Explorer and still got the page when I tried to send in my series. I just figured it got sent anyways.

I got the error message using IE. And Snowflake may now strangle me, if it went through at all (I've had it tell me the title's taken since the first time I sent it in a few months ago, so maybe it didn't) since I assumed at first that it *hadn't* gone through and tried more than once. Most of the time if I get that page on a form submission at other sites, it seems it hasn't really gone through.

I use Mozilla and I get the same error message, though obviously my stuff managed to get through at least once.

I'm pretty sure this question has already been answered dozens of times, but can't find it, so here I go.
Do I need to add HTML to my submission?
One more. I just got rejected because there were too many good things in the issue. Does this mean Issue 157 or 158? Should I wait until next week to send it in?

Well, well... I'm probably the only one here that got that message. Safari cannot open the page after 60 seconds. Gee... And that's the only browser on my computer. Or not. *walks off to Internet Explorer* I'm really sorry if I spammed the form Feli, I just didn't know if my stuff got in or not. EDIT: I tried in IE and it got the 'connection wrong' message. Nothing taken to a new 404 page. I'm on an iBook, so that might be part of the problem. Would appreciate it very much if someone could look into this.

Gives a fair shot to the people who still don't have the NT avatar? So what! It's not about the avatar, it's about the writing. The avatar isn't that great in the first place! If it were up to me, I'd remove it, since it's causing so much trouble with all those people sending stuff in just for that stupid thing. That's my two cents. Tch. The avatar. You think that's what I meant/cared about? It was A point, not THE point. I'm saying, some people want as many as possible, or some like them, or whatever. Point is, it exists and some people want it. Did you ever consider that someone may have a different opinion than your's? Sorry if I didn't take the kindest tone-of-voice there, but it's 2 AM here and I'm not in the best of midnight moods. I love writing just for writing. I tried to get in before the avatar didn't even exist. (I didn't make it, but I still tried) And why must you people be so picky about them acknoledging your talents? I know you have your reasons, but they're all guilty reasons, as I pointed out in the thread about whether or not we should be paid). I don't mind not being paid, and I don't mind the fact that we got an avatar, nor did I mind there not being one available when it wasn't. Heck, it exists. What's so bad about existance? As I pointed out before, it wouldn't matter in the least if it wasn't for the guilt. The guilt of their being a lot more n00bs swarming. The guilt of Snowflake getting a lot more work. Everyone else gets avatars for their talents/gets paid. Are we too good for avatars and NP? Heck, everybody likes NP! But we know what it would do if we were paid and if the avatar was so awesome everyone had to have it. We're just that analytical. We're writers, the smart ones. We'd probably object to removing the avatar if it existed from the start. Sorry Blub, but you missed my point by a mile. My most major issue, though I suppose I avoided stressing it (I guess it sounded to petty and rant like, but then, so did the other point) was people getting in more than once a week, while others get the "your's was good, but we already have too many entries" rejection notice. I guess I "said the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud," to quote Krusty the Clown, from The Simpsons.

I pwn the n00bs who keep prodding me asking how to get the NT Star avatar...and yes, I started writing and kept at it even if I got nothing out of it (except the trophy, but that doesn't really matter) Anyhoo, let's all not be judgemental. I've seen some good potential writers in the chatboards who don't even use chatspeak and actually write really well.

In spite of the reassurances that the stories are actually going through, I'm a bit concerned about the Page Cannot Be Displayed error for another reason.
I submitted a story a couple months ago using the old submission form. It wasn't used, but I never got a rejection notice -- so now that I know I really should have, I suspect that it didn't really go through. I did, however, try resubmitting it (before September 10) and couldn't do so without changing the title; it said that a story by that name already existed.
So... I have no idea, because of the Cannot Be Displayed error, whether my resubmission went through this time (if the change in the form cleared the "stuck" title) or not. Is it possible/acceptable to ask whether it's been spotted, or should I wait quietly for a week and see whether I get any response, or could I resubmit under an altered title without being unduly annoying?

The old submission form did just that, it ate submissions but kept the title. It was truly evil. With the new submission form, if it says 'Page Cannot Be Displayed', Feli got in. No worries.

*gulps* I'm still worried that I might not have any stuff in since it keeps giving me the 'Safari cannot reach the address after 60 seconds' and 'A connection problem has occured' in IE.
*sniffles* I really want to submit some more, but as of right now it looks like I can't...
Anyone with the same problem? and on Mac?

So everyone is getting this message? Nobody here has submitted something without getting a page error?
