I'm bored and feel like starting a new thread... If you could go back in time. What period would you choose to go to, and what country? Roman empire, renaissance, medieval times, colonial times, egyptian times.... What would it be? Personally I would love to go back to Rome or Greece in the Antique ages, but then again I would love to wear medieval clothes. Long, beautiful dresses, mysterious large cloaks aaaaaaaaaah
What would you people choose?

Pretty much any time as long as I was rich, and a man. Women and poor people had no fun.
I would love to go to the Roman or Greek times: to be a senator, and discuss philosophy, and be very cultured. Obviously as a man.
Medieval periods had nice clothes, but far too much disease for my liking. I wouldn't mind being a man though, playing the politics at court.
Or to be even quite recent, as a rich English lady, flitting around high society with barely a thought in my head.

I'd love to go back to the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Just for a while though to see what it was really like. It would be much better to see what the time was like for real rather than reading it in books, the t.v and going to museums.

I'd like to go back to colonal periods with high society in the colonies. I have no idea why, but the whole idea behind it fasinates me.
I guess the roaring twenties would be nice, and maybe even ancient Rome or Greece.
...and who would say no to going back and time and watching a Shakespeare play? Then maybe I could ask him if he truley did intend to make Rosencrantz and Guildestern victems in his play...

I'f go back to the beginning of time, to see what really happened...then I'd go to the era of the dinosaurs to see what they really looked like...the I'd take trips throughout the various steps of time to see apes evolve into humans.
Time travel would be fun.

If I went back in time, I'd love to see Ancient Egypt, but be invisible, so I could watch them mummifiying cats and sneak into the temples and pyramids.
Medieval England, maybe, but I'd hate to catch the plague.
Or maybe Korea while it was under colonization, or the dawn of Japanese civilization.
Aaagh.. to many choices!

Probably back a few hundred years -- dunno what country. Nowadays everything is too nature-destroying-ish and junk -nods-
Oh yeah, I thought of another thing; I'd go back in time to prove all of my theories about things in the past.

I would go back to see the last year of Christ's time on earth and the birth of the early church. His death, ressurection, and accension into heaven. That and the sending of the Holy Spirit to the disciples and Saul's conversion to Paul. All the good stuff when Christianity was just starting.

I can't choose just one.
I'd love to go back when the civil war or revolutionary war was going on. Life was so much more interesting. No electronics to make us all lazy.
I'd also love to go back to Ancient Greece or Rome and wear the lady-togas and my hair all up in those nifty curls.
And then there's the renaisance! (I spelled that wrong) Beautiful clothing and the time of aspiring minds.

OK, I thought of more. The fertile crescent, right around time of Hammurabi's code. Also, somewhere where I can learn to read Minoan Linear B. The Great Awakening, (1600's I think?) Louis XIV's court, the height of the French court's opulence and intrigue. The birth of Christ. (Maybe Kiddo and I could get a tour package ) Dublin, April 14, 1742, for the opening of Handel's Messiah. The first battle of the ironclads during the Civil War. anndd.... Oh, I don't know, Pasteur's discovery of antibiotics?

Well, I'd probably go back around 10 years or so, possess my old body and live my life again. Really, it's the only thing I know how Ooh! Ooh! And I'd go and talk to my parents, letting them know that I was me from the future. Yeah, that'd be cool... I wouldn't like to go anywhere else... atleast not long term. They have so many problems back then. Of course, we have our problems now, but we compensate by spending the first 18 years of our lives preparing for those problems... It'd be nice to watch some historical events, if I was intangible, though.

It'd be nice to watch some historical events, if I was intangible, though. Yeah, that's what I meant by invisible. If I were to go back in time and be physically, authentically part of it, I'd drop dead the second I stepped out of the machine, because I was born with a heart defect. I thought of more! (I know, I'm nuts) Byzantium, at the beginning of the Crusades The day the British Invasion began The sinking of the Lusitania (on the ship) Somewhere in the library of Alexandria and maybe... an original performance of Midsummer Night's dream (provided I could understand Olde English)

No question. I'd go back to the Jazz Age so I could meet Satchmo (Louis Armstrong). He is my hero. *Doe eyes* He is the master trumpeter... *Hugs trumpets*
