Not literally but sometimes weird things happen in my house. Like when I'm lying wide awake in my bed at night, it sometimes sounds like someone is ripping the posters off my walls, but when I get up in the morning, not even a piece of tape had moved. And when I was talking to my friends on the phone I heard knocking on the door, yet no one was there, and it happened more than once. What else...oh yeah we had a vcr that would turn on and off by itself, and also my house makes creepy noises like someone is walking through the halls. *Looks behind* I'm scared now! Anyting like this happen at your house?

Do you have your window open at night? The breeze coming in through the window might blow your posters, or the wind could get under your posters causing them to make that ripping sound. I've got posters and pictures that I drew on my bedroom wall and whenever I have the window open this will happen.
The knocking on the door might also be the wind. It might be knocking something against the door or maybe it's even just pushing the door back and forth against the frame. The door I had before did that. Also, if you have pets, they could be the culprits.
The vcr might turn on and off because of a loose wire or other electrical fault. It's quite common but scary too. I know that because the same thing kept happening with my lamp. It turned out though that the plug wasn't in the socket properly. That could be another reason.
All houses make noises. You will always hear bangs and spooky sounds, especially at night because everything has been switched off. I can't remember why things make noises when they've been switched off now but you'll probablly find that it's the reason you keep hearing noises.
So you're house probably isn't haunted at all. I could be wrong though. Then again, ghosts are quite harmless...unless they're a poltergeist and they happen to throw a heavy object at your head lol.

I once found 6 little cuts on my leg that I had no clue where they came from. I hadn't shaved recently, nor had done anything that could've possibly caused it. I've got a crazy poltergeist living with me. Probably not. But yeah. o.o Anyway. Ginger gave all very reasonable explainations. I've noticed that with posters too. They can make that sound when wind gets under them. My door constantly moves back and forth in the wind (and it's really loud), and sometimes it even slams shut when it's all the way open. But it's all because the wind when I have my door open in the summertime.

I don't know, the wind sounds a likely culprit since the same thing happens in my house in summer when I have my window open. The knocking could be pipes or something, I often hear strange noises like that when I'm alone but my house isn't haunted.
I used to work in a school in Tokyo that was haunted, however. Some pretty weird stuff happening there!

Yeah, Ginger gave some very good explanations to the noises, I always hear scary noises at night on my house, I have no posters, but I hear knoking on the door and sometimes I feel like someone just walked through the hall, but when I look everyone else is asleep. Then again it might be my imagination because I get scared of everything...

My family has a second house, it's two hundred years old and in MA. We had tennants that lived in it for 7 years and they always complained about hearing a child crying, there's an old stone well right in front of the house, when we first bought it there was a heavy, rusted grate over the opening. One of our tennants had no children and they came into the house once and heard a child crying in the living room, closest to the window. Right outside of that window, less than 10 feet away is that old well. The tennants got scared and got some sort of psychic to come in and he said he sensed the spirit of a yound boy who drowned in the well. The tennants never even told him they heard a child crying, just that they heard strange sounds. I remember living near that room as a small kid, I'd always hear weird things and my room always got really cold, I was the only one who slept downstairs, I'd find toys that I'd fallen asleep with out on the window by the well. It was scary.

I've got posters and pictures that I drew on my bedroom wall and whenever I have the window open this will happen. Well I doubt my house is actually haunted, unlike Luna ((That's creepy)). As for the wind..brrr..it's winter here, and since I freeze with my covers on, my window never opens until the boiling days of summer. But those are probably good explanations for the other noises. ^_^

Thank god my house was built in 1997.

Hehe, that's the difference between you and me (or onbe of them). I'd be fasinated, and wouldn't stop trying different things until I'd made contact. Leaving offerings on the windowsill, ligthing incense, an all-nighter by the well - whatever it took. I actually think Lunagirl is one lucky duck.

Eek! if that ever happened to me I'd avoid it if I was alone. I think I've seen to many scary movies latley, but I couldn't handle something like that. When it comes to ghosts, aliens etc, I'm interested and want to figure it out, but I'm afraid all the same.

I can see how a scary moviegoer would be afraid of that. *calls Choc on the telephone and puts on a spooky voice* Seven days. *hangs up*
