If you are ever at a place with both regular and gelato ice cream, do not eat the regular ice cream *after* eating the gelato. I found that out the hard way. Gelato ice cream is food from heaven, and immediately after eating it regular ice cream tastes disgusting. At least that's how it worked out for me.

I can't remember if Gelato is the same thing as Gelati, but from what you're saying, it sounds that way. Gelati/Gelato is the best stuff you've ever tasted, and I'm no ice cream lover. Like Sara said, don't eat ice cream after eating Gelati. ESPECIALLY if you get authentic, homemade Gelati from Italy, fresh from the Mom & Pop stores... Oh, <insert random explitive here> is it good, incredibly good...

My dad isn't an ice-cream lover either, but every now and then he'll break down for gelato (and he'd do it more often if it was a bit cheaper). However, I did once find a gelato ice cream which was not up to par. It was a strawberry flavor ... it was only a little below regular ice cream, but it's still probably one of the seven wonders of the culinary world : bad gelato ice cream.

My dad liked the Tiramisu one in Italy, too. I tried it, and it's pretty good. =) Strawberry NOT good? Fragola was my FAVORITE flavor in Italy! It has small chunks of Strawberries in it, and yet it's crisp-- or, for lack of a better word, I'll describe it as "Slightly icy, yet creamy, with very small pieces of fruit"-- and delicious. Wherever you're going, go complain, because if the Fragola isn't good, the Gelati (I just checked, it's the same thing as Gelato) maker is an imposter...

I have no clue where it came from as it was at a party, and it was in the same kind of box as good gelato ... it wasn't Fragola, it was thoughrouly pink-red. Like the color of my lips. And there were no pieces of fruti, the people at the party told me it was Strawberry, and I had to take their word. But as soon as I discovered the taste, I stuck with the good gelato ice cream for the rest of the party.
