It seems that comics usually take some time to be held over, they can go 2-3 weeks without notice, a month at the worst.
(Not always true, of course. Personal record of getting held over: 2 minutes)
Short Stories seem get held over quicker, a week maybe. Probably the same for articles; Not so sure about series. (Haven't made one in a really long time)

No matter what the type, there's no need to be alarmed if you go a few weeks without hearing back.

So could I submit comic number two while I'm waiting or would they get the order confused?

They will almost always appear in the order you submitted them, unless your comic is to be placed in a specific issue. So you can be quite certain that number 1 will go before number two.

When you are held over, you're able to submit the same submission again, are you? It says that you have already submitted thing...doesn't it?
Only it had been two weeks since I was held over for my series and to check it was still being held over I submitted it again, and it submitted successfully. So it that how it works and my series was lost in the database, or am I still held over and just don't know it?
Being held over is a curse for me...been held many a time to never EVER be published. :/

Therefore, you can't "check" once it's been held over; you can only check before it's been held over. In your case, I definitely don't think it's lost. I'm usually held over for about a month with my series, so don't worry yet!

Ahh thank you muchly! I hope Droplet can remove the second story then, sorry to have bothered the system with the second one.

I have an entry that's been held over for about 6 weeks now, if I recall correctly. Should I assume it's been glomped by the database system and resubmit or wait a bit?
Thanks

So you can get a held-over letter, does that mean there is also rejection letters?
I only ever entered something in once (Well, a comic in three parts, so technically three times) and I was told that they were being held over.

I have a comic being held over for 5 weeks (or something like that) now. Should I wait more or re-submit? * EDIT: Droplet finally decided to accept it Hurray!

How long does it usually take Scrappy to respond to a neomail sent to nt_editor? For a few days now my new article, Past The Podium: What We Learned From AC12, had been stuck in Neopian Times limbo (scroll all the way to the bottom: www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=search&keywords=pikachu315111). I sent a neomail to nt_editor explaining what happened but nothing changed as of yet. Should I wait a few more days? Send another neomail? Also send in a Ticket and/or Editorial Question? Sorry if I sound impatient, but I want to share that particular article on the Event Neoboards.

I submitted an article on Usukicon last year; I got the acceptance neomail and trophy and everything, but it was never published (the issue for Usukicon week was cancelled). I tried neomailing to find out if it was being held over for this year, but never heard back. Should I try neomailing again, or resubmit my article?

A year is a long time to hold over something, and it's likely it'd fall through the cracks. Resubmitting sounds like your safest bet. Sending a neomail wouldn't hurt either, but from what I've heard, the editor's neomail inbox is often full, so you have to be lucky to contact them. Good luck! I hope your article gets published this year!

mollyscribbles I agree with Ginz ❤, I think you can go ahead and resubmit the article. Maybe with a note at the beginning explaining what you explained to us, so the editor knows that you're resubmitting it.
