Death?

I have a story that I'm working on which...well it had death in it. I know that death is seriously frowned upon, but if it's possible could I use it if I sort of skirt around it?

This is the part in my story that addresses the 'death'. Is it too disturbing/unacceptable? Just wondering if I should cut it and just not mention it.

And when Fenella awoke late that night, though the world was still turning and everyone in Neopia still went on with their lives…in her heart she knew that an hour ago everything had changed for one faerie.

Sorry if there are any gramatical or spelling errors, the story is still very much a work in progress...

The whole death issue is foggy... Neopets mentions death several times yet it's not really allowed except in certain cases. WAY back when neoepts first started they had this thing called the Pet Cemetary. You could make an Olady doguary for your late pet. It was sort of like a spotlight except different. In the neopedia of the item Thyora's Tear they imply death on a neopet. This topic that neopets breaks their own rules is ran into the ground so many times but I figured I say it anyways...
I think that it would be okay to put that in and should put that in because it sounds as if it might be vital to the story. But that's just my opinion.

I was always afraid to go in there because I thought if I did it would automatically make my pet... not be there anymore and go up to neopet heaven. They still have the button for the cemetary on the site:

I'm sure there are many neopians who have never heard of the pet cemetery. The button isn't anywhere actually on the site yet the image still exists. I remembered it was a gravestone and with guesswork I found that it was still there. They took the pet cemetery away long ago because I think they thought it was inappropriate for the site to have deaths.

I kinda had death in one of my stories . . . only it wasn't death . . . o-O; It was the first story I ever got in.

WEll, if they don't let you, they are even more hippocriticle than usual. Look at the Deserted Fairground Neopedia article. And jsut the fact that there are ghost neopets.

I have two implied deaths in Dropped from the Skies- a faerie meerca gets knocked off Faerieland and a fallen Air Faerie is washed out to sea. Even I'm not completely sure what happened to the Meerca, but the Faerie at least won't be returning to mainland Neopia.
