Today in Science class we were making buildings/structures out of straws. Since our class REALLY has a problem with group work, and we had tried him picking the groups, us picking the groups, and random groups, we decided to try 'team captains.' Basically, four people were chosen to pick two other people (three in one group) to be in their group.
My best friend was chosen as a 'team captain,' so she chose me and another girl. We were the only all girl group ^-^
Annnyways, as to not confused you, I'm Sharla, my Best Friend is Talia, and the other girl is Hannah.
Annnnyways. So, our idea wasn't working. We were given 40 straws and a block of plastercine, and we had to balance a 200 gram weight on a platform on the top of the structure. IT WOULDNT WORK! So, we clumped the straws together (xP!) and my teacher, Mr. Miller, comes over, and starts biatching at us.
"Oh, it won't work, it's not straight, it's not good, look at everybody elses, they're so good!"
Anyways, our group FINISH FIRST. There were two 'timethings,' one 42 minutes, and one 60. OUR group finished before the 42 minutes, so we got extra points. Some groups BARELY made the 60 minute mark.
We were SURE ours was going to lose--- there was a strength test.
Test One: (not ours) -plllluuuuuunk- 0 grams.
Test Two: (ours!) -stable- -stable- -stable- stable- -tiny topple, and weights fall out of bucket, and bucket falls off, but structure remains standing- 215 grams.
Test Three: (not ours) -WH00SH!- 0 grams.
Test Four: (not ours) -kerplunk- 0 grams.
So, we won the strength test, everything was perfect, ours was the ONLY one that worked, and we only lost marks because our tower was 2cm too short ^-^
WE SHOWED HIM! Oh, of course, Mr.Miller, it's not going to work. THEN WHY DID IT?!
BTW: Mr. Miller HATES me. It took a lot of time for him to admit we won the strength test.
BOOYA!
