Proposed title of entry: Robot VS Steampunk! Machine Colour Comparison
Type of entry: Article
Short description: Neopia has two machine-based Paint Brushes: Robot and Steampunk. One completely turns a Neopet into a hi-tech android (a robot designed to be in a shape of a living creature) while the other turns them into a Moltaran-style cyborg (a living creature that has been enhanced in someway with robot prosthetics). Both cool in their right, but when compared side-by-side, which is the better machine Colour?

Me doing a short story, of course, presumes that my series does in fact end by the time the collab rolls around. But I do have two ideas:

A Hero's Train Journey

The NeoQuest II squad are on a train where a murder occurs - the Neopian Intercontinental Express (YES, IT WILL BE N.I.C.E. FOR SHORT). I have to reverse engineer a murder mystery for this one. Alternately: same idea, except it's Reuben and Rohane who have to crack the case. I'd rather write a train battle probably.

[currently untitled short story about Cavall related to my currently running series]

I wish I wrote more about Cavall's life as a page prior to the (main) events of A Hero's Journey: Squire so maybe, he meets his friends through shenanigans involving a mechanical toy loose in Meridell Castle. Insert super brief but heavy-handed reference to Squire in the form of a very quick Rohane cameo. I don't know.

Well, in at least how I see it, many entries are going to be based either on Virtupets or Moltara (or both such in the case of my article). So at least that could be a starting point to finding an idea.

* Explore their maps, seeing what shops & features they have.
* Check the items the shops sell and the feature's giveaway; maybe also items just based on the land.
* If the land had a past plot read up on what happened; story, puzzles, and battling.
* Look up any characters associated with that land.

Quick question, do you know of a way to filter the JN item database by shop?

You can select a specific Shop via the "In Shop/Category" dropdown list (note you'll need to know how how the items are categorized to know what shops they belong to. If you're having trouble figuring that part out, just look up an item you know sells in that shop, and check its Category (if it has more than one, usually the most bottom one is its Shop Category). Infact you can then click on the Category and it'll sort itself with all the Shop's items).

Type of entry: Short story
Short description: Cavall is a page in Meridell Castle with a past he can tell no one. But a blast from the past in the form of a runaway mechanical toy helps him make friends for the very first time. A companion story to my ongoing series, A Hero's Journey: Squire.

Short description: Two young adults who can't even figure out their own lives try to solve a computer problem. Is it still a ghost story if your grief comes from holding onto something too tightly?

I've got a decent outline completed so we'll see if I can make it in time. If I'm a little late this round I'll just try and get it in for a future issue haha

Whoops, forgot the word limit for a short story is only 4k. Reluctantly, I guess this’ll be a 2 part series instead.

Edit: Done B) Bulked it up a smidge to make it look like it being a 2-part series was intentional. Ended up at about 10k altogether, written start to finish over the span of 4 days. I think I was possessed by the Spirit of the Neopian Times
