Loving the new Christmas Contacts. <3 The last time a pair of all-species NP contacts was released was.... in 2016, if you can believe that. The new space-themed background is lovely, too. A fine alternative to the popular NC item MiniMME18-B: Space Exploration Background, which incidentally also got re-released lately but is still high-value.

Really random thought I had to record in the off chance it's correct: Reina shows up again tomorrow, after having seen the visions of the Blue Aisha, and says, "Mom?"

Really random thought I had to record in the off chance it's correct: Reina shows up again tomorrow, after having seen the visions of the Blue Aisha, and says, "Mom?" It almost did happen, thanks to the first line Reina said in today's dialogue. Anyways, Fyora came in and clarified that the magic is unknown. Hopefully, Orion gets some well deserved sleep after this. Day 30 prizes 1439 np, Virtupets Station String Lights, Virtupets Delivery Pilot Training Manual

DAY 27, 28, & 29: (Just going to combine all these days in one} Comic: So while trapped in that dark dimension your protags got attacked by an eldritch horror which infected them with an unknown corruption (physically it steadily "paints" their skin/fur/feathers/etc. with a dark cosmic effect from the initial wound point, the wound giving off a purple smoke/aura when its first inflicted). Fleeing into the cave seems like the Faellie has already fallen unconscious (being it was the one that was directly attacked having fallen for a lure).
By the time the Faellie wakes up the Aisha has also fallen asleep though we see the corruption spreading on both of them. The Faellie leaves the cave (not sure why, did it notice the corruption spreading?) and comes across a toolbox and guessing other spare parts from whatever ship they they were on before being teleported here.
And now here is where we get to a big stretch: Using the parts the Faellie luckily stumbled upon, the (Faerie) Petpet assembles a wrist device which just, if not cures/reveres the corruption, at the very least stops its spread and even shrinks it. This Faellie apparently has both medical and engineering skills, and must be pretty talented in both for it to figure out how to hinder the this unknown corruption and whip up a handheld device to do so.
Anyway, Faellie attaches the device to the wrist of the Aisha which the corruption has started shrinking on, unfortunately by the time she awakens the Faellie has been fully corrupted and is non-responsive. We get our first text as the Aisha cries out for her lost friend, but in doing so releases a burst of energy (is that just a general effect of the corruption? Is the device somehow letting her manipulate the corruption? The device began beeping more and more as the Aisha got upset, and after the energy burst its smoking purple along with the surrounding area). This rips open a tear in spacetime to a view of Brightvale Castle which the Aisha says is home. Of course, all is not well, as off to the side of the tear looking toward Brightvale Castle is a mysterious figure (can't see much of them, but thy have long hair, possibly spiky armor, and are holding what looks to be a paint brush adorned with a curled horn skull and emitting a dark aura; also it looks like the figure's shadow is also stretching toward Brightvale castle and formed a flame design over the entrance). BTW, the energy burst looks to have been powerful enough to destroy the cave they were in.
So, things are certainly looking interesting, though of course at this point I have no clue how it all comes together. Did the Aisha and Faellie return to Brightvale? Who is the mysterious figure? They don't look to have anything to do with what the Aisha and Faellie just went through. It feels like we have a few "dark forces" at work here, an "ancient evil" which past events have been building up and now possibly an "extradimensional horror".
Prizes: 27th gave us a Faellie Plushie and, more notably, another BD item that's a dual healer & blocker: 100% blocks Dark, Fire & Physical while healing 20% max HP. If fighting an opponent with those icons that's not... great. Yeah, it's a nice idea, but the healing is too low to be worth it over at least a 50% healer (like the Feel Better Soup from last year).
28th is a bit strange. None of the prizes have to do with the comic. The normal & useful one is Christmas Contacts which gives your Neopets red & green striped eyes; I'm sure some can find a use for it during holiday time. The second one is just odd: Christmas Running Shoes. I don't get it. Like, I know of the song "Christmas Shoes" from like a decade ago, but nothing about this item relates to that song (for those who don't know the song, it's about the singer helping a poor kid who can't afford a pair of shoes for their dying mother so she could "look good when she meet Jesus"; yeah it's one of those songs). Like, if that's what they're referencing: (1) A few years too late, (2) Why are they running shoes with an animated image?, and (3) Why is the description a parody on "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"? These songs are VERY tonally different from one another.
29th's prizes both actually have to do with the comic! A very neat space-themed background and a book which, if directly related to the comic, would indicate the Aisha and Faellie did make it back to Neopia.
DAY 30: Plot: So we're back and after fretting about what they just saw Fyora just shows up to explain everything. PHEW! For a second there I was worried we'd actually be left in some suspense and excitement not knowing what's coming next...
At the very least, being this Lyre sounds like a dangerous relic, have it be Brynn and Hanso that appear; it's their job to hunt down dangerous relics! Give Fyora a break. It's nice to see she's involved with things but she doesn't need to be directly involved with everything. I'll grant visiting the Advent Calendar is probably low tier danger so probably a safer situation for her to get involved in, but still they knew there was some unknown powerful magic and would have been best if the experience relic hunters went in first before the most powerful being whose magic serves as a protective barrier.
Anyway, the Big Good assures everything is alright at the moment. She takes both the Lyre for study and Orion to help give him some rest.
Prizes: Now, the prizes directly relate to today's actual animation (a Grundo in Virtupets is playing a game and a screen with gift boxes appear at the end). However the description of the book, "Virtupets Delivery Pilot Training Manual", caught my eye:
Could this maybe be a last second reference to the comics, maybe hinting the Aisha is a Virtupets Delivery Pilot (she grew up in Brigthvale but later moved to Virtupets)?
Well, tomorrow is the last day. Think we're pretty much done with the plot sneak peaks so curious what they plan on doing for the last day to top this all off. Maybe I can get lucky and get a Seasonal Attack Pea...

Welp, no pea for me. Boo hiss. I am glad though that the prize for doing the Advent Calendar each day is just a site theme I already have, since there was a really bad storm in my state that knocked out power and internet access for me for a few days a couple weeks ago. D:
