Archiving various comics I have submitted to the NT ^^
The Rosy Beginning
This first comic was published August 27, 2021, and it was back when I still had a rather rosy-lensed view of the site. Since then, my sense of humor has become sharper and more satirical. I did get the name for the series ("Second Glance") from this first comic though, which was about my Mutant Hissi. (As a side note, if you want to read more about them, I also wrote a story and a poem.)
My next comic was inspired by someone posting screenshots of gambling nerkmids, obviously hoping for a paint brush but getting gross food instead. I thought to flip the situation around I was too lazy to draw for this one (and was also kind of upset about the overall quality of the comic section going downhill), so I used various site assets that I found on Dr. Sloth's Image Emporium. It was still good enough to be published, apparently. *shrug*
Timidly Challenging the Status Quo
My third comic did not get published in the Times, and I didn't bother resubmitting it. It was inspired by Robbie (rawbeee)'s suggestion to TNT to save staff hours by simply releasing more Invisible colours on pet days so that staff can fix some of the more urgent problems around the site. I based the visual design of the comic on the Persian cat meme. The dialogue is taken from a real conversation that I saw on Discord, and the cucumber and grape images are poking fun at Neoboard filters haha.
My fourth comic did get published in the Times (huzzah!) but I had to neomail the editor to rescue it from held-over limbo. I was able to collaborate with Mandy (suzerz) on this one. On the surface, it looks like it's conforming to the happy norm, but the "Fix UC Pets" sticker in the background is a bit of a dig at TNT haha. It's also parodying the lazy puzzles and "Spot the Difference" type comics that have been getting into the NT lately. There is no actual difference between the two pictures; the only difference is that the Meepit blinks in the second panel.
