That's rough. It probably affects hair too, but I'm more worried about breathing. xD
One time I was cast in a play, and that same year there was such a big wildfire that we had to go inside for rehearsals and we were still suffering. Thankfully, it abated a little before showtime, so we didn't have to move venues permanently.

We had 40 C temperatures last year or year before. All because of a giant heat dome sent by the aliens who wanted to reclaim the Earth! And yes, we were the source of all the smoke the Americans got this year.

40C?? *Dies.* Yet that's sadly becoming more of a thing.
Hmm, a giant heat dome sent by aliens? Were the humans the aliens all along? =O
=O It was youuuu! Specifically!!

We've already broken a few of our heat records this year. x_x Thankfully no 40C, but we've definitely had temps approaching that in recent years. (with like, max humidity)
I remember reading about the heat dome in 2021... Some place in BC Canada apparently reached 50C. o_o;

That is... Really bad. o_o;
And there's some pretty bad wildfires in Western Canada right now. *Checks a weather map.* Daaang, all those high pressures.
There are some lows coming that might bring storms and precipitation. If nothing else, Alaska will get them this weekend. We'll try not to take all of it; BC needs it more right now. I'm just uncomfortable and sunburned in the current sunny weather, not running from a blaze. Unless it's more wind than precipitation. That would be worse. But it looks like at least some moisture is coming.

Fun little story from today:
As I was getting into my car to drive home from work, I noticed a little jumping spider on the driver's door. I tried luring him onto my name tag so I could carry him over to the grass, but he wasn't having any of it and kept running further up the door. Very cleverly, he found a little niche at the base of the door's window to hide in, and I couldn't reach in to get him without hurting him. So I decided, fine, your decision, but you probably won't like it in a minute.
Cue a commute home where I try to drive as carefully as I can without going over the speed limit, oftentimes taking small glances at my window to make sure the spider is still there. His clever window niche came in handy here as well as it blocked him from the worst of the winds, so he hung out in that crevice for most of the time. He also thankfully got some breaks with stoplights and highway congestion lol.
Happy to report that by the time I got home, the spider was still there and moving around like normal, so I hope by the next time I have to drive, he'll have found his way back to the grass xD

Aww, spider just wanted a ride. <3 (Or something. xD ) Yay for good spider stories!
I think I have a spider somewhere on my car that I can't find, because I keep finding cobwebs over my side mirrors, and no matter how many times I remove them (visibility), they keep getting webbed. xD But I've yet to see this spider.

Spider definitely has an adventure to tell friends about now! I hope he had a good ride haha. Ooh, phantom spider of the opera. Just don't install any chandeliers in your car and you should be fine! But huh, that is a mystery I guess it makes sense as a good place for a spider to hang out; it's still outdoors enough that it can find bugs to eat, and the car is a stable structure to build on.

New friends, by now. xD Good things spiders are good about relocating.
No worries there! xD Its webs, they cling to me~ Yeah, wherever its hiding, it's certainly guarding itself from highway speeds! And yeah, where I live, plenty of bugs land on my car, so they actually catch a lot. So in some ways, it actually kinda works out! I just wish it wasn't over the mirrors.

This is true, it'll have to be new friends now xD Next spider adventure: making it in the Big City!
And yeah, sounds like you're both benefiting from it in a way! Although lol yeah, if only spider could understand the importance of good visibility when driving xD
