Reading through the Hard Cap on NT Series thread, I was curious about how the number of series, and the pieces in the NT in general, have changed over the past little while. I figured that 2 years was enough time, and then proceeded to scrape information from those corresponding NT editions (Issues 867 through 936) and put the information into pretty charts. Because it was interesting to me, I figured it may be interesting to some others here, heh.
For the most part, I think the figures are relatively self explanatory based off their titles. I won't really elaborate or conclude anything from them – I thought I'd just post them, and people can draw their own conclusionsif there are in fact any conclusions to be drawn.
Note that "special editions" were any edition that had a background other than the default, and "skipped edition" is the Friday of any week that did not have an NT (and may include "legitimately" skipped editions, e.g. for national holidays).
Here is the (most) fun image of entries over time:
I figured that word count is a sufficient analogue for how much effort directly goes into putting together an NT from the editor's perspective. So, here are some figures of word counts over time:
This one shows how series have ran over time and how long they ran (number of parts), so to see how many series ran simultaneously. Also encoded is info on total series word count. Note that I only included series that started and ended within the 2 year window.
I have a few more but I will need to make a new post because limited number of attachments heh.
