downrightdude- Umbra accepts the bouquet, and seems to hold them magically. "What, burn them? No. And I don't know what you're referring to, but it's probably best to move on now either way. We only have so much time!" ((Is the Werelupe with you? In the future, it's best to not write another 'house's' obstacles for them, as it may not go with their set-up.)) Creamy Snaw turns around for the Werelupe, but only sees another tree with a bulky trunk. It was no Werelupe, which deflates Snaw because this was getting a bit boring. "How else shall we draw Luna to us, talking cat?" asks Snaw, jingling a star-shaped tambourine. "Can we use magic? Because I don't have any!"

downrightdude - Umbra twitches their tail at the path straight ahead. "We really don't want to lure Luna here; it's not ideal where she is where I left her the watering hole, but if she were to go around the forest, more of us would be in danger. No, we have to meet her where she is, and lure her to one of her safe locations, or calm her down. I'd like to calm her down, but since safety comes first, we can lure her to that place. It should be near where she is now. That flower we picked up, maybe that could help lure her, or chase her from the watering hole towards the safer location?" Umbra looks ahead. "If you want to try, I can try to lead you there quickly. We can also get some more items from around the woods, if you want more than one thing. We should decide quickly, though; it's already past midnight." ((General Player Notice: Once you go forward to the final area with Luna and use your item, your action will be considered frozen in time, until my final post of this thread, which will be late on the 2nd. I recommend that if you want more items to help with Luna, to try to get another item first before asking Umbra to retrace their steps, because once you do, you'll near-immediately be taken to Luna's location. If it helps, and you'd rather not travel to another location, you can pick more than one item in an area.))

Taffy chitters.
"Oh, but first, let's see what the green swirly mushrooms do." says the bunny-eared girl.

Creamy Snaw agrees to searching for new items. Still playing the tambourine, Snaw heads to a nearby bush, hoping to find some strawberries.
Remembering about the Blue Moon, Snaw looks up at the sky. "Such a pretty sky! I'm so happy Snaw own the entire sky and skyscape."

Creamy Snaw agrees to searching for new items. Still playing the tambourine, Snaw heads to a nearby bush, hoping to find some strawberries. Remembering about the Blue Moon, Snaw looks up at the sky. "Such a pretty sky! I'm so happy Snaw own the entire sky and skyscape." "It is a pretty sky, and a beautiful night. Even if it didn't go as planned for us, well... nothing can take away the beauty of this night." Umbra moves around to help you search, but you find something first. While you don't find strawberries, you do find another type of berries, growing from the pink little clustered flowers. "Ooh, these ones are ready and ripe!" Umbra declared. "You can eat them just fine if you want, but first." Umbra bats one of the little berries off the stem before crushing it. A strong smell immediately emanates. When the smell reaches you, you feel your muscles relaxing, and a sense of ease. "It's a soothing smell; you can break the berry and it's smell can calm down most beings. You get some of the same when eating it, but given how Luna's, uh, a werewolf, it's better to break it from afar. I think it'll work for her. It might be harder with her as she is right now, but between this and the lure, I really think we have a good chance." "I don't think we should split up," says Jess, "So I guess we'll go with the straight ahead path." Taffy chitters. "Oh, but first, let's see what the green swirly mushrooms do." says the bunny-eared girl. You pick up a green swirly mushroom, and... wait, was it a mushroom? For a moment it looks like a flower. Are you surrounded by giant flowers? Do flowers make up this whole forest? It was just a moment, and everything returns to normal; of course it's a normal forest of trees, of course it was a mushroom, there's not much in the way of flowers here. Lux flicks their tail. "Oh, I see! You got the Hypno Shroom. You see, uh. When I saw you go blank, I muttered a suggestion about flowers, and you took to it a little too quickly. You see, there are more flowers on my side of the forest, so it was the first thing I thought of. Anyway, you only got a sample of it; if you throw it at Luna and get some of its spores on her, maybe she'll listen to what you command her for a moment. ...I know that sounds bad, but sometimes we use it for medicine, or to help someone calm down. Please don't make her do anything bad. It can only make her go so far, but even so, it's better if we can use it to calm her down, or get her somewhere safe. ...And uh, don't worry about continuing to hold it, you didn't touch a big part so it didn't last long, just long enough for you to know how it feels before you use it. Just be careful how you hold it." Lux looks forward. "I think that's closer, so... closer we go, then." They hesitate. "Uh... I'll follow you." ((I'll describe your next leg of the journey in my next post. If you feel you have a response already, feel free to beat me to it! But I'll get to the next part of the journey ASAP. ^^ Since the end of Halloween is drawing near, you also have the option of telling Lux you want to get there, and they'll try to retrace their steps and get you to Luna by next post. You have at least one item to help, but you can search for more. For now, I'll advance you forward.))

June ScarletStraight On and Up (Right)You continue on the left path, and as you walk, you begin to nice a bit of an incline. The area is still wooded, but you notice it becomes a little sparse as you ascend, giving more room for moonlight to illuminate your way. Still, the trees and moon are positioned in a way to always leave looming shadows regardless. Further on, you ascend the last of the incline and find yourself at the top of one side of a canyon. The trees are still dark and looming around you, but here you can find a good vantage point to observe the moon and stars, and all that’s ahead of you. Deeper in the canyon is a river, which you notice flows into a cave deep below and behind you, terminating what you see of the canyon, and any evidence of a river you could’ve noticed before. On the other side of the canyon, you see the brighter side of the forest you passed by earlier. You can faintly see hints of wisps and other creatures on the other side of the canyon, but you can’t make out what they’re doing at this distance. Lux takes residences behind your legs as it stares across the canyon. “Right, I forgot… They can see me from here, if they really try. If any of the rest of the clan are over there, they might see me, and… I keep hoping they wouldn’t… But I guess I’d need to tell them, won’t I…? ...I don’t see any over there, but I may have missed it… Uh, I’m gonna keep hiding behind you. Um, as for this area...” Lux twitches their tail towards a slight slope on the side of the canyon. “I wouldn’t go all the way down; no clear paths, unless you wanna fight the river all the way up to where I last saw Luna. (There’s a better way to do that anyway.) But you can go down a little and find some interesting alcoves or caves. This place has a history, and it’s written in the rocks. You might be able to find some interesting rocks and minerals, and some are infused with the woods’ magic. Even pyrite may have magical properties here; I’ve seen it happen. Or you could just find any kind of rock, and maybe there’ll be an aura to it I can pick up. If you want to pick up something else.” Lux looks forward. “Only two paths left now. The one to the right will lead deeper into the woods. Otherwise, the canyon will slope down on the trail until we reach the river. Then we can walk up it, or take another path, but all of them will lead to Luna.” ((Feel free to pick a rock or mineral that you’ve found, and there may be an enchanted quality to it! No super speshul gems, please, but other than that, I can work with most things.
After you've found one, or if you decide to press on, you can go back, go to the right deeper into the dark woods... or continue forward...))

Jess picks up a rock that's pretty ordinary save for the fact that there's a small hole in it. "A friendship rock!" exclaims Jess. "Or at least that's what my dad always calls these sorts of rocks, the ones with holes in them."
Taffy starts to grow restless, but says nothing.
"Is there anyway you could retrace your steps to Luna?" says Jess. "I'm not sure which way is better, and I don't want Luna to cause more damage, so we'd better get going."

"Kitties!" squeaks the mantis shrimp fey entity.
They pause to admire how their dazzling rainbow carapace shimmers softly in the ambient darkness.
"Yes please kitties, I'd like some cuddles or treats, and then I will help with anything you ask! Anything for the kitty cats! Hello residents! Is this a nice place to reside? Do you have nice things to watch from here?"

Liou - As you admire your dazzling rainbow carapace shimmers, so too does it dazzle some of the other cats, who stare on with stoic curiosity. The cat who spoke with you flicks their tail happily and nuzzles against you. "Of course. This isn't typically our venue, but we're no strangers to affection." As if on cue, many more black cats hurry down from their tree and surround you, taking turns nuzzling you when they can get close enough. "This is a nice place!" one of the cats says. "So many things to see! The new ones, the old ones, the movements, the breaks in the dark, the new magic growth," rambles another, who continues to ramble. "I get to watch things in the forest as my job! It's so nice!" "Everything is awesome!" "Well, okay, maybe not Luna," one of the cats says tentatively. "I hope Umbra can help with her..." "Oh my gosh, read the area," chastizes another cat. "Yeah, this one is confused as is!" says another. "Wmph, mph mm-" a cat that was bounding forward stops and sets down what they have. "Wait, the confused one asked for a treat too!" The cat picks up what you presume is the treat and darts towards you, then waits until they can get in range before they deposit it in your lap. The thing is... a dim, color-changing ball? "It's one of the safer shrooms in the forest. We can't really eat it, but we play with it! You can play with it too!" the generous cat says. "What'll they do with this toy?" another cat asks. "Well, it may not help with Luna... or wait, maybe it could. Maybe you can play fetch with her; you could use that somehow!" the generous cat flicks their tail happily. "Or she's a werewolf and she'll ignore it." "Well, it also smells of us? And Luna loves cat things. So uh. It's something. Or you can just have it for whatever! Luna's scary tonight, I know, you can just stay here for the night if you want! We're keeping an eye out." -- June Scarlet - Lux seems happy at Jess' discovery. "A friendship rock! Oh, those are always nice. I haven't gotten one of those in a long time. And let's see, the aura... Oh, I knew it, you did get an enchanted one! If you offer this to a creature like Luna, they may be more amenable to you for a while, enough for you to talk some sense, or get them to go somewhere. It can't go too far; real friendship is based on so much more. But it's an icebreaker." Lux looks to Taffy, and begins to mirror some of their restlessness. Their tail drops a bit when they hear Jess' suggestion to retrace their steps. "Y-yes, I... I think I can. I think I remember my path now. It's still a little ways up the river. If we can follow this trail up and get to the level of the river, we should be able to follow it the rest of the way. Just... follow my lead..." Lux still seems nervous, and keeps looking back at the two of you for reassurance. They know that you're ready, and that you have two items to help you out. And if you're ready, well... they're ready. They take a breath, and begin to lead you to Luna... ((Stay tuned for a post leading you to Luna.))

June Scarlet - ((One post before Luna, actually, and to give you a chance to respond. Feel free to react to previous areas if you'd like, by the way! (You still have some time; I'll give till the end of the 2nd before I give my conclusion post.))) Further Up the Right Canyon (and beyond...)It’s a nice walk along the canyon; you get to see the best of both sides here, with the trees sparser due to altitude and you being able to see far enough to see the other side. You can sense the life around you, and the activity on the other side. Though as the path begins to decline, you sense the life around you moving in the other direction, and eventually, you hardly see anything living. You can sense Lux’s agitation as you continue to walk; twice, they almost turn around as well, until they see the determined look in your eyes. You make it down the path and incline, and the woods begin to grow dense again. Soon, the trees begin to block more of the moon’s light, and by the time you make it to the bottom of the incline, it’s difficult to see again. That is, until you see a clearing, and the river. You’ve now come down to its level. You can see the other side easily, and you can see the dense, bright forest that shimmer with luminous magic, although that side too feels devoid of life. There’s a large fallen tree over the river, allowing a crossing several yards before the river moves into the maw of the canyon you just cleared. You could cross this log if you wanted to. But you can’t help but feel that at this point, there’s hardly any need. For aside from back up the canyon either direction, there’s only one way to go from here. “Up the river,” whispers Lux. “A ways up, and we’ll find a lake. You’ll know it when you see it; it’s the biggest water source here. We were going to celebrate by it, but… well, Luna’s there. ...Well, we’d better go...” You hear subtle footsteps behind you, almost like cats. And Lux freezes for a moment. Then hurries up. “We’d better go. M-maybe we can put an end to this! A-and… And I won’t have to hide anymore… Not for this anyway...” ((This is the last bastion for both sides before going forward to meet Luna. Once you go to meet Luna, there is no turning back. Are you ready?))

"So I have a suggestion mushroom, and a rock that will make Luna more friendly," says Jess. "I actually think I need one more thing before we try and face the werewolf. Information."
Taffy squeaks once, and Jess notices Lux's desire to move on, likely to avoid the footsteps of the fellow cats.
Jess looks to the path, and then the cat. "We can walk and talk at the same time, if that makes you feel better.
"So tell me more about Luna. What are they when they're not a werewolf? What's their personality like? Anything that might be useful to know, really. And then, yes, I think we're ready to face Luna."

downrightdude - "You could!" Umbra agrees. "It'd probably help a lot of people too. Umbra sits down patiently and waits for Snaw's next move, if any. They supposed that if nothing else, helping someone have a nice time in the forest was good too. June Scarlet - "Oh, y-yeah, that's a good idea," admits Lux. "I think I've been vague..." Lux walks near you as they talk. It seems a peaceful walk. This marriage captures the best of both sides; the peace and solitude of the dark, and the bright and cheeriness of the light. You could look either direction you wanted, or accept the middle neutral ground upon which you now walk. The blue moon looms over, both lighting your way and foretelling what you’ll face. "So, normally, Luna is... very nice and friendly. Sometimes too much. I mean, sometimes she can be annoying, the way she wants to play with us despite being much bigger than us. I think that's normal for dogs. But she's always looking out for us, always helping keep the balance between both sides, in her own way. Dark or light, it doesn't matter to her; she just wants what's best for the woods. But she's always been sensitive to the moon phases. It helps her know what's coming, so she can tell us. But the closer to the full moon, the more she loses touch with herself. She can get kinda snappy. But like I said, she's nice; she always feels so bad when she does something bad. To the point that she's able to control herself most of the time, when it comes to bad things. But it tires and stresses her out after each full moon, because of what it does to her. Normally we're able to take care of her, or take her somewhere safe. But after two full moons this month, plus this one falling on Halloween... She's scary right now. It's hard to get her anywhere safe or calm her down, she's suffering so much." Lux's ears droop. "...Sometimes we can call to her true nature, do something that reminds her. Or bring her to her safe place; she knows it's safe. Now though... it may be hard. You may need to use all you can get." The two of you hear rushing water. "...We're getting close. Stay quiet... I'll keep watch for if she sees us." ((Stay tuned for a separate post.))

June Scarlet((When you're ready. Don't forget the post above for information! You can also still ask Lux any follow-up questions if you need it.)) Down the River...The forest opens up, and you see the lake from which the river came, and a river ahead gently flowing into this lake. The lake is large, and the flow from the river is gentle enough that the ripples in the lake are minimal, and you see a near perfect reflection of the sky and the full moon on the surface of the water. Surrounding the lake is what seems to be the best of each side of the forest. The bright and inviting areas, the soothing dark shadows, flowers and mushrooms dotted about, baskets hanging from the tree made of either fallen twigs or silvery spider webs, hints of aquatic life, and of course, plenty of cat hair; you can tell they use this as a meeting and celebration place, or a place to calm down. And there’s a lumbering, growling werewolf right on the edge of the lake. She stamps about, indiscriminately swiping at anything that disturbs it, even a rustle of an aquatic plant. She’s shaking, finding herself unable to calm down, and she howls at the moon in an effort to relieve her mind of the stress. “Poor Luna...” Lux whispers. “...She hasn’t seen us yet. I-if it were me, I wouldn’t have her see us at all! B-but if you want to help, if you can think of a way, or, um…” Lux points to a small path along the right side of the lake, generally dark, but occasionally visited with wisps of light. “If you want to trap her, we were trying to get her down that path. There’s an area there we created for her, that's her safe area. If she can’t control herself, she can go there and be herself, and the rest of us can be safe. I think she was trying to head there, but she’s been so anxious all month, and then she… didn’t make it. And then the moon drove her mad...” Lux shakes, nuzzling against your leg for comfort. “I-I was supposed to guide her down there, but I couldn’t. If you can guide her down there, or find a way to get her to calm down or be distracted at least a little, i-it would help. I-I’ll help if I can, but… If nothing else, I’ll keep an eye out for you, okay? If it gets too close, I-I’ll help. I won’t let anything bad happen to you. Promise.” ((Jess and Taffy – You have two items from the forest: Hypno Shroom – Get the spores of this shroom on Luna (various ways to do this, or you can just throw it at her), and she’ll be confused and vulnerable to suggestion. Mostly, you’ll affect how she sees her environment, but maybe you can suggest her another way too.
Friendship Rock – Offer or show the friendship rock to her, and she’ll be more amenable to you. Think of it more as an icebreaker than Instant Friendship, but it’ll give you some leeway.
Liou -- You have one item from the forest: Colorful Shroom Ball -- It's a ball! You throw it and play with it. It smells of cats, and can lure the werewolf. It is also colorful, and while no one described it, it will also shine when you throw it.
Snaw -- You have two items from the forest, once you arrive: Vibra Flower Bouquet -- You play a sound near them, the flowers play a sound back; it can be random, a sound on your mind, or a sound on the woods' mind; your choice! If you choose to play a sound on the woods' mind, you will get a werewolf sound back.
Pax Berries -- Edible, but more importantly, you can break one to release a soothing scent; will calm down one's body and mind.
You can use any or all items in the same round. You’re also welcome to use creative means!))
