Wait a second, isn’t the fountain faerie a water faerie? She can glide? On her belly with a water slide conveniently magicked up, I reckon. (Would totally draw that too if I had the time right now, this event is a creative treasure trove.)

I keep trying to apply human logic to the faeries just because they are humanoid creatures. I need to stop doing that.

Got a Light Faerie today:
"Well this "Sunrise Spray" is going right back to the Krawk who sold it to me. It was supposed to brighten the day for Neopets who are stuck indoors but it's keeping them awake. I haven't slept in three days and... I'm starting to feel... odd. Why is that Kougra looking at me?" She points to a rock.
Yesterday I got an Earth Faerie, although I forget the story she gave when asking me for an item. I just remember her being very excited to get that weapon for revenge xD

So, apparently its only a select amount of items that get asked for, and now they're all in the multi-million range now?

So, apparently its only a select amount of items that get asked for, and now they're all in the multi-million range now? Sounds like some price-gouging going on. Inflation usually happens when a limited pool of items are required for an event, but to that extent is just ridiculous. Got to say though that the requirement that you have to complete each quest daily in order to get the bonus prize instead of just checking in might not have been fully thought through with this development...

Hopefully they address it soon, either by expanding the list of items they need, or by changing the requirement.

On the one hand, there seems to be excellent thought put into the quests this year as far as immersion goes. The dialogues are great, and they seem to have gone to the trouble of restricting the faeries' requested items to what's thematically appropriate, so that they want items that help them with their issues, rather than try to combat Krawley's curses with rubber duckies and pinstriped trousers. Today I got the Earth Faerie who struggled with magic plant feed that sprouted weeds all over her fields and she needed Pink Cyclamen, which is a pink plant thing from the garden center and still pretty cheap.
On the other hand, yeeeeeeah, with restricted pools comes massive inflation and people happily jumping on the profiteering bandwagon and you'd think that after howevermany years of Charity Corner they would've foreseen this happening. And if they thought that the Faerie Quest prizes aren't valuable enough to incite people to drive prices up then they're nowhere near cynical enough to be working a paid job xP
Neopia could really use more fixed-price outlets, anyway. The economy is as volatile as it is because very nearly everything in circulation comes from site shops in hard-to-predict ways, so if it's not from the Healing Springs, the General Shop or the Hidden Tower, it's at the mercy of processes like these. And what is released is released sitewide, so even if I dedicated the entire day to stalking a site shop waiting for a quest item to restock, I'd be competing against everyone else stalking that shop for the same reason.

As a quick heads up:
If your faerie asks for the Flaming Blooble Potion, one of the heavily inflated potions, it can be gotten by beating Tekkitu the Witch Doctor in the battledome on Hard.

Oops they'd better be careful with the item pools yep... I'm pleasantly surprised by the variety of dialogues! Forgot to note down what I got the other day (Aethia was pretty exhausted and Baelia was too uplifted) so here's what I got today:
(After giving her the item:)
I like how most of the effects (so far?) seem relatively benign for the Faeries and less grimdark than ToW-era Krawley's damage. Wouldn't dare to hope for an actual plot, but if we were to get an actual plot, this is exactly the kind of thing that could lead into it - after the Faeries' magic is weakened / they got delayed in such-and-such magical ritual, what kind of horrors might take advantage of a breach in the magic protecting Neopia =o
Oh, and I'm especially fond of the Earth Faerie in the new quest page image thing. She's all "ooooooh, I'm a treeeeee *wiggly fingers*"

Balthazar vs Krawley
Balthazar: Rawr! Krawley has ruined my business by cursing all these faeries! I shall exact my revenge on that Hissi oil salespet!

Brilliant light blinds you. As it fades, a Light Faerie talks to the tree behind you. "Is that you? Pardon me but I've been temporarily blinded by this "Flash Powder" that I purchased. If you could fetch me Screlon that should counteract the effects." She proceeds to pet a very confused Spyder. "Ooh, what a cute Angelpuss!" * You are currently on a quest for Light Faerie. Return to Faerieland when you've found what's required. The Light Faerie bumps into a rock and starts talking to it, "Oh excuse me. Did you find it yet? My eyesight won't come back without it."
You are supposed to bring me:
Screlon * You are currently on a quest for Light Faerie. Return to Faerieland when you've found what's required. "Is that you? Did you find the Screlon?"
Screlon * You have completed a quest for Light Faerie. "I can see! Oh all the colours of Faerieland have never looked sweeter and it's such a joy to see you there, my dear beautiful Neopian."
For your efforts, jane_scarlet's level has increased! Seeing her mistake a Sypder for an Angelpuss was pretty funny, it got me to laugh. It's nice they put this fun twist on this event.

So I Have An Idea For A Comic: Since I have no interest in making it anyone is free to do it if they so feel like it:
Panel 1 (one big long box on top): A group of four Neopets are asked by an Air, Fire, Light, & Water Faerie in troubling situations to get them a Vial of Fragrant Oil, Sparkling Sky Potion, Elixir of Happiness, & Voidberry Extract. Panel 2: One of the Neopets "No problem, they only sell for a couple of thousand NP". Panel 3: See either the potions cost hundred of thousands NP or are unbuyable. Panel 4: Another of the Neopets "Oh, well I frequent the Brightvale Potions shop and they always have them in stock". Panel 5: Brightvale Potion shop is empty and shopkeeper says "ever since the Faerie Quest event I've been sold out, and since those potions are high rarity they don't stock often". Panel 6: Group of Neopets talking with each other with one saying "where are we supposed to get the Brightvale potions now?" with an off screen speech bubble saying "Did you say Brightvale Potions?". Panel 7 (one big long box on bottom): Group sees the one speaking is Krawley, with crates of Brightvale Potions behind him, and he says "I just so happen to have some. I'm selling them at the low cost of 1 million NP each! Come now, don't you want to help the Faeries and get that final prize?".
What? No, I'm not bitter that today an Air Faerie asked me for an unbuyable Vial of Fragrant Oil essentially meaning, unless TNT changes the requirements, I won't be getting the final prize despite it not being my fault I couldn't complete it. What would give you that idea?
My Actual Thoughts: Okay, not to be too cynical some quick thoughts I'm having:
Pros: 1. I like the premise. Granted, it's surprising to even see Krawley in Faerieland and would like an explanation why he's suddenly tormenting the Faeries (as it sort of doesn't fit his "character". Krawley seems to be some kind of menacing judgement spirit who punishes people who have taken their good lot in life for granted like what happened with Neovia. That said he's not necessarily evil as 10 years later he did set in the chain of events that cured Neovia of their curse (maybe 10 years was the sentenced amount he thought was applicable?). So why is he messing with the Faeries now? Was Faerieland falling out of the sky, them losing a lot of their power, and last year having to deal with the Wraiths and the Darkest Faerie wasn't enough punishment for them?). BUT with all that said it's good to at least see they're doing something with the character and in an interesting way. 2. Also connected with the premise, I like not only the interesting problems the Faeries are having but also all the dialogue they wrote for them. At first I thought it was only going to be one problem per Faerie, then discovered some people got a different dialogue so thought it was two, and now I'm seeing there looks to be more than three problems per Faerie! I'm hoping JN gets all the dialogue as I'd like to read through them. 3. Guess I'll also give them some points for at least changing the main Faerie Quest artwork to reflect all the Faeries having one of their problems visible plus Delina arguing with Krawley. Though not major points as the artwork for when the Faeries give your a quest hasn't changed, wish they showed the Faerie dealing with their affliction even if they only drew one pose per affliction.
Cons: 1. Well really only one major one: They changed the item request pool. While not bad at first, you then see some of the items they asked for are items which rarely stock. And though before the event they cost a few handful of NP, of course some players was going to buy up all the ones which rarely stock (mainly the Brightvale Potions) either making it super expensive to buy or just plain unbuyable. 2. And JS then also changed the requirement for the final prize to be from visiting everyday to completing a quest everyday (which is probably why a batch of players began inflating some of the items in the first place). Hopefully this gets reversed so every player at least gets the final prize (if they visited everday, which BTW there was no 1.5 Day so some people did miss the first day *sigh* ).
So, yeah, like with other of JS's ideas it had great potential but they for some reason couldn't deliver or messed up along the way. Now, to be fair to JS, I think this is the first time they ran into this problem as the last time something like this happened it was for the first Charity Corner which was a few years before JS took over. Guess best to consider it a lesson learn and hope they don't repeat it and do their best to mitigate the current problems.
Even still, I also don't think it was a good idea to mess with the Faerie Quests anyway. Sure, it makes the premise feel more impactful, though at the same time many players look forward to the Faerie Quest event for just a week or two guaranteed Faerie Quests so they could cheaply train their Neopets or a chance to use the Rainbow Fountain. While the daily prizes and final prize is a nice bonus it's not the main draw. But now players who like the Faerie Quest event for that aspect can't get those benefits if they're unlucky and get an expensive/unbuyable item.
While it might make it feel less impactful, how they should have done with event is like how they did the fist Charty Corner or the Festival of Neggs 2012. In both events they had the main draw of the event (donating items for CC, finding Neggs for FoN) but they also had a side part going on that told a story and was just another thing for players to participate in (for CC was Adopt-A-Neopian where you had to get certain items asked for in a letter, for FoN it was the Mysterious Negg logic puzzle where you looked for the Clockwork Negg which ended in a BD battle). That way you have the main draw unaffected while also getting to do the interesting side part thing/story. I guess for this Faerie Quest Event we'd still have normal Faeries asking for their usual items while there would be a side story of a batch of Faeries having gotten cursed items from Krawley and now need your help to get a certain item to lift the curse (and maybe also need to do a certain amount in order to chase away Krawley who seems to be protected by all the curses). Obviously they'd also have to make it so we don't have this inflation issue, like maybe for each affliction make it so a few items can be used to cure the curse instead of being asked for one specifically.
But, yeah, that's my two cents on what's currently going on with this event.

I didn't check the dialogues the past two days, but this Dark Faerie: "If you don't mind, I find myself in a bind. That twine that I bought, did more than I thought. Now I can't stop rhyming and it's terrible timing, because my sisters will think my magic's declining. To counter the effect I'll need Kikoughela Drops I suspect. Please hurry, it's really quite confining."
"Have you found my item yet? I hope you didn't forget. This rhyming is the worst, and this is coming from the cursed." "You came back! Please, no wisecracks. Would you hand Kikoughela Drops to me? I need it, you see."
"What a relief. My sisters were this close to signing me up for a slam poetry night. I had no material and rhyming is the lazy poet's crutch!"
I like how the last bit implies she would be up for a poetry slam if she had material for it.

La la la let's see what the faeries ask of me toda- HOLY HECK FOUNTAIN FAERIE! *insert the Titanic "it's been 84 years" meme here* I like the premise. BUT with all that said it's good to at least see they're doing something with the character and in an interesting way. I reckon it's as simple as Money Dear Boy, and dude's just making use of the Faeries' hubris to make a mint. He's a classic snake oil salesman and this kind of thing was always their shtick. Show up, sell what you can, take what you can, disappear before you get run out with torches and pitchforks. Of course the Faeries seem to be so spectacularly dumb about it that he could probably set up a booth in the middle of Faerie City, do this comfortably for a few decades and then retire, but y'know, that's inevitable with the event mechanics and some suspension of disbelief is expected. Personally, I'm also quite fond of characterising the Faeries as suffering from hubris this way. Much better than making them flawless all-knowing ethereal beings who do no wrong.

Well, Fee-fee got tricked too which is surprising since I thought she was supposed to be wise or something. The Faerie Queen appears in a puff of... stinking rose smoke... Yuck! *Sighs* "Yes, I know. Apparently, that Staff Cleaner Spray I bought doesn't have the best odour. Could you bring me Magenorb? That should cover it."
"Oh dear. I smell like a Blorbis who's had an accident. Did you bring the Magenorb?”
And then, when I gave her the item, the site failed to load anything so I never got to see her reaction. Maybe she was speechless that I was able to help her. Honestly Fyora, how did you clean your staff before Krawley showed up? What’s wrong with soap and water?
