CATEGORY #10: Best NC Wearable
NOMINEES:Lighthouse Background (My Pick): It's a very new and atmospheric background, notably with the lighthouse in the background. I can see plenty of fantastical, maritime, or pirate themed customization using this to create an air of mystery and/or mysticism. Cosy Baby Onesie: Eh, it's cute and good to see Baby Neopets getting clothes, though nothing that impressive. Dewy Butterfly Bubbles: A nice serene foreground piece, though I do feel the scaling if a bit off that takes away from the effect. Floral Golden Gateway: Now, the light are nice and all, but the problem is that we have this random gate that's not connected to any wall or any kind of structure. It's just there surrounded by lights, what are you supposed to do with it? WINNER:Lighthouse Background (51%) Cosy Baby Onesie (26%) Floral Golden Gateway (14%) Dewy Butterfly Bubbles (9%) Pik: Wait, one of the nominees I picked won?! I DID IT! Firo: Well a broken clock is right twice a day... Pik: Well I guess that means I got one more coming. Anyway I think it also has the highest win percentage yet at 51%. Though, looking at the competition, maybe it shouldn't be all that surprising.

I'm not sure why there are only 3 nominees for today's category.

There haven't been more than 3 this year, I don't think? We've had 3 nominees before when there wasn't enough content to make 4.

Why are the images no longer showing up? *Sigh* CATEGORY #11: Best NC FeatureNOMINEES:Forgotten Relics of Altador (My Pick): Past few Altador Cups they've been using the NC feature to explore and expand upon Altador's lore and history which I find interesting (even if they do sometimes add conflicting details about Altador's past from what we know). I also did check out the items and they all looked neat though a lot were Altador related severely limiting their use (and for this category in particular that's not a small detail to overlook as you'll see). Lulu in Space: If you thought Altador's was limited by its theme then last year's Daily Dare wasn't any better, if not more limited. Of course this can be forgivable as Daily Dare switches around its theme every year so with that in mind it makes sense they'll go all into the space theme as who knows if they'll ever get an opportunity to make space items for it again (though wish they were more based on aspects from the Virtupets Space Station & Kreludor games but whatever). However we're not comparing it with other Daily Dare NC features so it having a very focused theme is a detriment in this case (but unlike Altador it doesn't have anything else going for it outside just giving out wearables). Haunted Mansion: Now at first glance you'd think it to is too focused on its theme of being for Halloween... but then again that's also to its advantage. Because a big thing about Halloween is dressing up and adding a spooky twist upon things, which means they can have stuff not directly related to gothic imagery often associated with Halloween. For example for 2019's we have a sparkly fog, magic wand, clown make-up, mummy wrap, and a devil horn wig (among other items which may have a general use such as the haunted drapes, pile of candy, and Gothic dress). While maybe still specific, they are specific to other things as well. Mysterious Magical Neggs: An issue I can see people having with the wearables for this NC feature is that normally what it offers is a nice range of things which would be good for general & specific use... if it wasn't drenched in a rainbow. While color is nice, too much color can be just as bad as not enough and this is a case for many of these wearables. I can also see some of these items having a forced nature them being just as bad. WINNER:Haunted Mansion (37%)
Mysterious Magical Neggs (34%) Forgotten Relics of Altador (19%) Lulu in Space (10%)
Haunted Mansion not a surprise, but guess I was off the mark with the Mysterious Magical Neggs. Guess the overuse of color and force nature themes wasn't as much a deterrent as I thought.

CATEGORY #12: Best New Avatar
NOMINEES: 20 Year Celebration Avatar (My Pick): Neopets has been around for 20 years. There are users who played Neopets when they were a kid who have likely introduced their kids (or nephews/nieces) to Neopets. Heck, next Birthday the site would be legally allowed to drink and smoke (and it can already drive and join the army). While this is a simple avatar (though pretty), I feel what it represents adds a lot of value (for lack of a better word) upon it. Robot Vandagyre Avatar: The still image doesn't do it justice, it has the falling Matrix code going on in the background while the eyes quickly flash. It's more interesting in action, and I like all the shades of blue, though I can understand it not being for everyone. Royalboy Lutari Avatar: Eh, while I think the Robot Vandagyre is a good way to do a Neopet Avatar, the Royalboy Lutari does a few things wrong. Only motion is the Lutari's staff (which is mostly off screen) and the Lutari blinking which isn't as flashy as the Robot Vandagyre's eyes flashing. It looks more awkward, like it's trying to be more than another static Avatar but I think maybe having made a more dynamic looking static Avatar with a fancy border might have worked out better. L&L - Bravo, Aurrick Avatar: It's certainly an eye-catching Avatar that shows an exciting story moment, but its method of unlocking may be what holds it back. WINNER:20 Year Celebration Avatar (51%)
Robot Vandagyre Avatar (18%) L&L - Bravo, Aurrick Avatar (18%) Royalboy Lutari Avatar (13%)
Here's for 20 more years! And woot, and right for a second time!

CATEGORY #13: Best Premium Collectible Item
NOMINEES: Fall Leaves Shower: It's nice. Castle in the Sky (My Pick): A pretty cool looking background! I can see it used for creative customs either of original ideas or maybe recreating a scene from a game/movie/show/book/etc. which had a floating island location. I also can't really recall another background of a similar idea, maybe Faerieland pre-Faerie Ruins though a lot of that had cloud floors while these are proper floating pieces of land. Candy Cane Scarf: It's a scarf with a candy cane pattern, nothing special. Ghoulish Ghosts Garland: Cute I guess. MISSING:Castle in the Sky (64%)
Fall Leaves Shower (19%) Ghoulish Ghosts Garland (9%) Candy Cane Scarf (7%)
Was there any surprise?

CATEGORY #14: Best Prize Pool Update
NOMINEES: Trudy's Surprise: Was considering picking this one as it's wide variety of items. From the example image alone we see a Ghost Petpet, a rolled up scroll, a watery Petpet, a Magma Kiko Plushie, a Tyrannian Petpet toy, and a book which features the Monoceraptor. They're also the ones you'll likely get most often as you get one every 7 days as long as you spin everyday. Qasalan Expellibox: Oh, so that's where all those sand Petpets were coming from! And, at least from the example image, that all looks like was added. While normally wouldn't be bad, a new Colour for Petpets, when put next the other two movepool updates it does look kind of bland. Cooking Pot (My Pick): When was the last time they updated the Cooking Pot? That alone got my pick as I like the concept of mixing two items together to create a hybrid item. Now the ones they are showing sadly don't look that impressive, but it still has plenty of creative possibility. WINNER:Trudy's Surprise (58%)
Cooking Pot (34%) Qasalan Expellibox (8%)
Not a surprise, as I said they not only are the wider in variety but also the ones you're more likely to get, if one of these were to get another update soon it would likely be Trudy's Surprise.

CATEGORY #15: Best New Petpet ColorNOMINEES:Royal Fir: I like the crown though it's just a Fir with a crown and king's robe around it. Tyrannian Snomorg (My Pick): When you compare it with the normal Snomorg you see all the neat little differences they've done with it. Bones instead of bolts, eyes are given that enlarge caveman brow, has camouflage spots placed all over, and instead of staples its just sewn stitch marks. It's what it sets out to do, be a prehistoric version of the Snomorg, aka caveman Frankenstein's monster. Valentine Splime: Now the Valentine Splime does a small neat thing with replacing the blobs at the end of its top three points with a heart, though other then that much else. It might as well just be colored pink. Could have replaced the spots on its body with hearts like with other Valentine Petpets (as well as add a heart to at the end of the bottom two points). Pirate Marafin: Probably the most fun combination. Always funny to think about a Maraquan pirate, and though the most changes was the clothes it was given a meaner stare. WINNER:Valentine Splime (31%)
Royal Fir (lower 31%) Pirate Marafin (25%) Tyrannian Snomorg (13%)
Now I'm assuming Splime got more "hidden" votes. Eitherway I guess not a surprise, Valentine and Royal at this point probably feel like more unique colours compared to Pirate and Tyrannian.

CATEGORY #16: Best Neopoint Item
NOMINEES: Blaze (My Pick): Attacks with 10 Fire & 1-6 Physical icons, defends against 2/3 of Water AND Darkness icons, and if below 25% max HP heals 16.66% of max HP (which doesn't take your healing slot). This weapon is CRAZY good (pretty much the little brother to the Wand of the Dark Faerie and Illusens Staff), and though the event it was given out for wasn't good and easy enough to do, you still needed to do all the steps making it a surprise for those who thought nothing that great would come from completing it. Though just as many did complete it so it's not too expensive to get one making it a nice starting to higher level weapons once your stats are on par. Sloth Collectible Charm: It's a collectible charm in the shape of our overlord master Sloth, of course it's going to be well liked and expensive to get. You can technically buy it from the official shop though good luck, and if they release an Avatar for that Stamp Album expect it to become unbuyable. Elderly Apple: A funny visual gag on a Granny Smith apple. Though really that's all I got to say, no way it's beating an OP BD weapon or album items. AAA Coin: A top prize for Daily Dare and a neat looking one at that, I would say it has more visual style compared to the Sloth Charm above though don't think AAA's popularity quite beats Sloth. WINNER:Blaze (38%)
AAA Coin (31%) Elderly Apple (19%) Sloth Collectible Charm (12%)
WOOT! One more correct guess! Infact I'm surprised they didn't have some other decent weapons they made this year (infact they probably could have made it their own category, nominees would be Blaze, Pretty Negg Shield, Parachuting First Aid Kit, and The Mystical Tablet). Anyway, surprised the Sloth Charm was fourth place, guess this time style won over popularity. AND THAT'S IT! Hope we all had a happy Neopies. I think I only got 4 correct though I wasn't honestly voting for ones I knew would win but ones I feel deserved a vote. Not that TNT will see that of course but hopefully they'll take a look at the data and not just base future decisions strictly on the winners (if this helps with any decision making).
