While we have the Questions You Feel Silly Asking thread, not every question I want to ask comes from a place of embarrassment. This is a more general thread for those small questions that randomly come to mind, but you don't quite know where else to ask them! Do also note that any questions meant for sparking conversation or debate on many peoples' opinions would likely do better on the Discussions and Debates board; this is for the smaller questions and requests that come to mind!

Mkay, and now the question I had that inspired this thread: I already asked some people, but I'm curious to know if anyone here has some familiarity speaking/reading Icelandic, or perhaps knows someone who does. There's this one sentence that I'm wanting to double check the translation of, since right now my only option is to run it through half a dozen translators and see if they're consistent x3 And then even with those, while they give the literal translation, they may not account for colloquialism or slang or the like, so I dunno if what I'm translating should be taken literally or not.

(Alas, Twillie, I don't know the answer to your question. =< )
-- So I have a pair of Sorel boots that I've used for winter wear for years. Great for snow and the cold. Never had problems with them... until this year.
One boot is fine. But the other seems warped in some way. The basic end result is that it digs in on the side of my ankle and heel, and has caused blisters. If I wear them for more than 5 minutes, it really hurts, and walking is a nightmare.
But they're really nice boots, and I keep wondering if there's a way to repair them. But I have no expertise, and I don't think the boots are in warranty anymore. That's where this question comes in.
Does anyone know where to take a boot that needs repair? I prefer local so that I can go in and get it back quicker, and so I can ask about prices then. I just have no idea where I would look.

GelquieI've never done it myself, but when I typed "boot repair" into google it popped up with local shoe/boot repair places in my area on google maps. Maybe a good place to start looking if anything relevant comes up for your area?

Killix - I was skeptical at first because I initially did do google searching and found none and assumed that there weren't specific places for that... But when I typed that specifically, I was able to get results, so I guess I searched wrong. xD Anyway, I'll look into those. Thank you!

Why can't I find "Frozen II (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – two-disc deluxe edition)" anywhere?? I know it exists, it's on the Wikipedia Article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frozen_II_(soundtrack)#Track_listingI've listened to it on Spotify, even. But all I can find in stores and online is the one disc cd for Frozen 2. I want the two disc cd set because it has both the songs and the score. The single cd is missing the score. I would love to buy this cd, but I can't find the it. Any help would be appreciated.

June ScarletHmm, according to Google, my local Best Buy in has the two-disc version of that product. Might be a good store to check out if you haven't looked there already? No other results came up for me, so it might not be a widely distributed item right now. (though, I am in Canada, so take that with a grain of salt XD)

KillixI looked at Best Buy's website, and as far as I can tell, they don't even sell CDs there. Just vinyl. Would not be surprised if your Best Buy had them, though, because it's in a different country and everything. I looked on Google too, and nothing came up at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if it filtered by the country I'm in. I wonder if maybe it's not available in the US as a CD, but it is somewhere else.

June ScarletHmm, if you've exhausted your search options and still can't find a single retailer (online or physical) carrying it, then I think it's safe to say that it hasn't been distributed in your area yet. Heh, I'm surprised that Canada has it first, if that's the case. Sometimes we get stuff months late, or even not at all. XP Hopefully it'll come in soon for you!

Hmm, so, I play some games on my tablet. Two of them (Pokemon Go and Pokemon Masters) have taken to crashing and closing almost every time I try to navigate to a screen that conveys a lot of individual information (especially Pokemon lists and Trainer lists, respectively). It's gotten to the point where I often can barely play the game, and it's super aggravating. xD
Since this same problem has been happening in both of these games, I'm wondering if it's something wrong with my tablet, but I'm not really knowledgeable enough about troubleshooting tablets. Does anyone here have any advice?
(It's an old iPad Mini 2, and it has 42 GB free (about 2/3rds of the total), which seems like plenty of space? I also tried clearing the cache in Pokemon Masters the other day, but it didn't change the problem. Or maybe I need to send a ticket into the Pokemon game in general, or something?)
EDIT: So, it doesn't fix the underlying problem, but after a few restarts, I did manage to stave off the crashing for just long enough to activate a filter on my Pokemon Masters trainer list. (So instead of showing me all 90-some trainers, it only has to show me the trainers with a support role, etc.) It seems to help so far (and I finally got to power up Misty today), so at least I found a workaround, if not a solution. Thanks for letting me ramble, Netwuff! xD

I'm cleaning out/organizing my "important documents" drawer, and I'm having a hard time recognizing what I should keep and what I can throw away. Are old bank statements important if they're from 5 years ago and I've since closed the account they were from? Probably not, huh? Are old prescriptions important? I guess they're a way to track my own medical history. Am I silly for keeping receipts of when I registered each semester for Design School, even though I graduated years ago? I guess those hold a little sentimental value, but did I even remember I had them? Not at all! Like, I feel like most of this could go, but I'm paranoid I'll need it sometime.
Basically, what's important to keep? I'm aware this might change depending on location and how things might work where you live, but I could use some pointers, if anyone has any...

Ginz ❤ In my experience, it's better to keep anything you're unsure of. It doesn't take up much space and you can have a separate folder or similar to archive the oldest stuff. Instead of a drawer you could get an accordion folder, or use a big binder with page protectors and tabbed dividers. But yeah, the bank statements can go (when in doubt, shred) and the prescriptions are most likely not a big deal because you can request your medical history anyways. The stuff that may hold sentimental value could go in a scrapbook.

Thank you, Breakingchains ! That is a helpful guideline. ^_^ A binder is a great idea too! I'm pretty sure I must have one somewhere I can use. To be honest this was brought about by me trying to find an important paper and realizing I hadn't put it in the important folder, and instead finding a bunch of junk. -__- I'd figured I'd ride out my motivation to clean out as far as it could take me, because one of my 'problems' as a person is that I'm a huge packrat and have a hard time getting rid of things. This isn't just about documents, unfortunately. It's about clothes I never wear or that no longer fit me, and books I'll never read again, and toys I can't bear to give away because they have so many memories attached, and those really nice shoeboxes that might come handy one day, and that piece of cute paper that I'm sure I'll use in something someday, and every scrap of pretty fabric that lands on my hands, and so on and so forth... (being a crafty/artsy person doesn't help, because everything becomes a potential material to create something else! XD) Anyway, I figured I'd start out by going through my stacks of paper, and just anything I can get rid of is a good step for me. Thank you for the advice! <3

So, I have a question.
Back on July 1st, lightning struck the house, and it wound up frying the televisions. It took 3 weeks to get a replacement one, and once I did, I discovered it also heavily damaged my Xbox One.
Normally that's not a huge problem, I'd just get a replacement one, since it's also my DVD player. But, one thing I do have is that I'm in a crew on Rock Band 4 for it, and because of the lack of TVs, I've been missing out on helping the crew in the weekly challenges.
I was able to get on a few times while it was damaged to let them know that my Xbox was going out so that I'd be unable to join for a while, but they were wondering when I'd be able to get a replacement one, and my best estimate was the middle of September.
Well, it's October now, and I still can't get on or in contact with any of them, and they announced the other day that the game will be compatible with the Xbox One Series X that's coming out in November.
So now my question is, should I go ahead and get the replacement game console now, and get back in with the group, or wait the extra month to get the new gen model on the 10th of November?
I don't have any other way to contact them aside through xbox messenger though, and I've already kept them waiting 3 weeks, and I'm kinda worried that they'll kick me out of the group if I keep them waiting too long. But I feel like it would be a waste of 350 dollars to get the replacement so close to the launch of the new console, when they announced that the game will be compatible with the new one.

Where I live, the series x is presold out, and anyone who hasn't preordered one won't be able to buy the console until next year. Do you know for sure if you'd be able to acquire one in November? If you do, and you can afford it, I say yeah, go for it! But if you can't, I'd recommend just getting a new xbox one. Or maybe you could get a secondhand console for a little less?
