Happy Halloween, everyone! I am pumped to present you all with my most thrilling treat this year!
I wasn't going to be late for Halloween this year, no sirloin Bob! Right off the heels of last year's Halloween celebration, I spared no time in preparing my back yard. It was difficult at first, what with all of the snow, but as soon as Spring rolled around, I was able to convert my garden into the most fantastic pumpkin patch!
These aren't just any regular ol' pumpkins, though. I've spent all year tending to this patch: Mixing odd seeds, feeding plenty of bonemeal, adding experimental chemicals which I'm sure won't harm the environment in any way...
The Haunted Pumpkin Patch is finally ready! Come on in and pick out your very own pumpkin. Guaranteed to brighten up your Halloween night!

"Wow, this is so cool!" says a girl with a brown satchel. "I can tell you did indeed put a lot of work into this."
She ponders her choice. "That white one reminds me most of the movie my costume is based on, so I guess I'll pick it, if that's okay."

The corporeal-but-formless-ghost-of-former-Gelquie hesitates as they approach. As the ghost of former Gelquie, well, of course they wouldn't know of Killix's dire betrayal. Not yet. Not to the degree it became. But even so, the ghost was a touch of the past, and still had a hint of the present. And for a moment, they didn't know how to approach.
Eventually, they just approached with whatever felt natural for them in the moment. Which was apparently, the former.
"Oh, these are great pumpkins!" Gelquie cheered. "And I do need one for my step. I can't wait to pick one!"
They pause. "Unless... you didn't do something to them, did you? ...Ah, no, of course you wouldn't! ...Right? ...Is there something beneath them?"
They pause again. "But ooh, they look neat! Looks like someone picked the white one; looked kinda ghostly. But it's okay, I'm a sucker for dark stuff!"
They reach down to pick up the black pumpkin, pausing to look under it suspiciously.

"That white one reminds me most of the movie my costume is based on, so I guess I'll pick it, if that's okay." Excellent choice! I think that's the spot where my bag of bonemeal burst open... Last time I'll ever cut open a bag with rusty garden shears, ha! I bet the pumpkin got an extra dose of spooky from all of that calcium, though. The chosen pumpkin begins to shiver, then slowly levitates above the others. Wisps of light appear as an invisible force carves its way around the surface, leaving glowing gashes in their wake. In a flash, the transformation into spooky floating Jack o' Lantern is complete!
The Jack o' Lantern's inhabitant reveals itself.
Aww, look at that! A cute little ghost! Err, I mean... oh no, a scary ghost!! Ahhh! My experiments have been successful, it seems. Well, this ghost looks quite happy to join you on your Halloween adventures. I wish you both a frightful night-full... of Halloween haunts!

I have to say I'm jealous! I was so busy... all year... working on my pumpkin patch that I didn't manage to get myself a new costume this year. Oh, I can assure you that I did something to them. A lot of somethings, in fact! The recipe might be a bit concerning, but the results should be safe. Maybe... It's all a bit experimental, you see. A bit of green slime here, a dash of rocket powder there... Oh well, the surprise results are what makes it so much fun!
Oh, look at this adorable little shy ghostie! Err- I mean, *waves arms around* this terrifying, unspeakable horror!! Look at that ominous red glow. Hey, you two match so well! I am so pleased to see such a perfect pair of ghosts right here in my pumpkin patch. 8D Have a fantastic, phantasmic night!

A stack of geese wobbling in a trenchcoat flaps into the pumpkin patch. The geese perch atop a pumpkin, hesitating, hop from pumpkin to pumpkin, before stopping on the right-hand orange pumpkin and beginning to peck at it. A golden pumpkin would be such a lucky find for a goose.

A golden pumpkin would be such a lucky find for a goose. Hello there, trick-or-treater-- Oh! please don't jump on the pumpkins! You could slip and fall into some leftover glowing sludge! O-or fall straight through a pumpkin and out of bounds! Last person to try it got stuck between two pumpkins and it was a real trick to get them out...
Ack, such a charming little draconic ghost! Look, it even has a sweet little hoard of... sweets. I'm in love! Uhh... with how... scary this this, of course! Totally scaring my socks off right now. Have a wonderfully bountiful Halloween! I can only imagine the sweet mounds of treasure you two will be able to collect together. :D

The lizard flicked its tail. This would have been much more convincing if the lizard was actually a lizard, and not a small timid human in a hastily made lizard-costume. Anyway, the human examined the remaining pumpkins through the lizard's eye-holes, and in barely any time at all was peering down at the green pumpkin.
"The green one is bestest," the human said, in an overly shrill lizard-voice. "My costume is green, and the pumpkin is green, and so it seems a perfect match!!!"

"The green one is bestest," the human said, in an overly shrill lizard-voice. "My costume is green, and the pumpkin is green, and so it seems a perfect match!!!" Ah yes, my greenest pumpkin for the greenest costume match! Flawless choice! That one turned out a little lumpy - likely from the accidental radium spill - but I think that makes it all the more lovable! The chosen pumpkin begins to shake, then levitates very wobbly above the others. Wisps of light appear as an invisible force carves its way around the surface, leaving glowing gashes in their wake.
Perhaps a few too many gashes, actually.
In a flash, the transformation into spooky... cracked pumpkin is complete!
The pumpkin's inhabitant reveals itself. Oh, it didn't quite make the transformation to Jack o' Lantern, but this ghost is a noodle! I can't help but smile... or, uh... fear! Fear it!! ... and now that I'm seeing its spooky side, I can tell that you two will be the best of friends! Ahh, a Trick-or-Treater perfectly matched with their Halloween Spirit!

"Noodleghost? Ahh, noodle!" the almost-definitely-completely-human chirps. "Hello! I'm tho-err. Bumbleberry!"
She reaches out a hand to shake that of her new friend before realising that, well, this is very implausible given the noodley snek nature of the being.
((Thanks so much for these, Killix! <3 Such a cool little Halloween house!))

The corporeal-ghost-of-former-Gelquie tenses at first as the pumpkin begins to transform. But then the ghost appears and...
"O-oh!" Gelquie gasps out as they stare at the ghost. Rather red and ominous, and then there was the fact that Killix didn't know what she mixed together, but...
She was right. It looked so shy. And in just the right colors...
"...Hey, it's okay," the being calls out to the new ghostie. "Do you want to come with me? We can go for a stroll together. I don't bite."
After a moment where the spirit is given time, Gelquie turns to Killix. "I... I'll admit, I was expecting something else. But... I could use a nightly companion. I think we will have a phantasmic night indeed! Thank you, Killix! You may not have changed your costume much, but you definitely had something cool."
With that, the being begins to head off with their new spirit friend, allowing it to wrap around their shoulders. The being pats the spirit as they go, further and further away, until...
...Wait, did they just thank and compliment their rival??
Upon this memory, this chance to be OOC, they freeze. ...There had to be something up. The being inspects the spirit one more time... But no, if something was up, it would've happened by now. They know Killix. And honestly, even if it weren't, it's not the creature's fault what came between them.
...But then... Was Killix trying to pay them back? Was she just... having a nice Halloween night giving little companions?
...Huh, they thought.
They supposed they couldn't complain.
They pat the spirit gently once more. "Well, how about that walk?"

Well, Halloween is over, but I think I did well this year. My pumpkin patch was a success and the ghosties all found new friends to fright away the Halloween night! Or... well... most of them did. Hmm. There's one pumpkin left. One poor, peculiar pumpkin that wasn't picked from the patch... Well, I can't just let it stay un-chosen and doom the poor little ghostie inside to the loneliest Halloween ever! So... I guess this means that I get a pumpkin for myself! After all, I deserve a treat after all this work, right? Right pumpkin?? The chosen pumpkin begins to shiver, then slowly levitates above the others. Wisps of light appear as an invisible force carves its way around the surface, leaving glowing gashes in their wake. In a flash, the transformation into spooky floating Jack o' Lantern is complete!
The Jack o' Lantern's inhabitant reveals itself. Oh, you're a mighty crabby-looking ghost! In the most adorable way possible. Don't worry about being left behind because you're with me now! We can share Halloween candy and tell ghost stories together! I'm sure you have a lot of those to share, being a ghost and all.
