Looking for images or videos of the petpet park areas that would assist in rebuilding the park maps. Petpet project is currently trying to rebuild this game and needs desprately map pieces of the following areas to do that or likely these areas will be excluded from the rebuild space due to lack of map pieces:
Mt puka (the noodle cave) school of adventure
most of the areas that needed nc access or membership are missing huge areas if any were captured
we have already got most of the youtube videos captured and also many of the photos in Peregrinations of a Park Petpet thread actually fulled out a lot of the areas we didn't have pieces for so if you got screenshot we can use them.
also we do have walking examples of the petpets for the following species:(we got the animation wireframes and how to load them into it)
also if you saved any swf files from this game, esp of the petpets i did not list.....please let me know. These files are SMALL, 100Kb in size or so. if anyone has any of the files in this list i posted,we can use them as we know people DID save them as we have found several photos that could of only been obtained this way.
pinixy(blue) oukin(red)
dipni(blue) hiffalo(blue) kassegat(many colors)
if you happened to save any swf files we could use them and if your interested, we do have a facebook page showing much of our work so far thats been saved.

How very interesting! And when were you planning on asking for permission to use my screenshots from my thread, may I ask? I do hope you have enquired into the legal aspect of your project?

twilson1118 Liou was only asking if they could perhaps get some credit for the screenshots that they have done the legwork to acquire. To use somebody's screenshots without credit is disrespectful. It does not have to be much: a small thank you would suffice. You also did not answer their question about the legality of this project. Petpet Park is under copyright. Reconstructing it and running it as your own game might be tricky from that perspective. It would be reassuring to know you have thought about that. Also, your reply was just a tad passive-aggressive. Please watch your tone.

I do want to do that honestly, but where do we exactly do that when redoing a map? Its a two sided thing here because they may not want the legal exposure, like many of the youtube videos that rebuilt most of ours so far(oddly we need to leave a spongebob themed thanks in the game as ONE youtuber oddly did most of the archiving). As for the legal aspect, were just doing it just like other games like monkeyquest reborn ? (its had two attempts so far) is currently doing. oddly we have been doing so since 2014 and if their was a legal problem going forwards, have you seen our facebook page? its not like were hiding what were doing. also what color was your petpet, as i do have the kassegat file for animation but it looks like you had the gold one?,

twilson1118 Yes, you had already mentioned that you were rebuilding maps from other people's images in your first post. And since, as was mentioned above, Petpet Park is under copyright - or under a different status currently, I don't know, I'm not the one trying to recreate it - I was asking if you'd enquired further into the legal aspect of it, because I'm concerned that this project could get you into trouble, and not only you, but also people from whom you take those images. The images from my thread were my personal screenshots, and it took time and effort to gather and process them all, something that I'm sure you understand, since you are yourself working on gathering images. I had only used these static shots for the purpose of commentary and storytelling for my friends on this forum. You are involved in a project to recreate a game that was owned by others, using images kept by others. If my images are to be used in such a project, I'd expect to have some say in it before my pictures are used at best, and a please and a thank you at the very, very least.

thats one of the reasons that i don't often put where the images came from....most of them oddly came from youtube which anyone could of viewed and or captured. im really glad you captured what you did of the space and the problem i was trying to avoid im sure you understand too, because did you know anyone was rebuilding the space before i made this post? its not nice to find out by a legal notice.

Not crediting where the images came from is dishonest, however. Yes, in theory, anybody can view or capture those images. Taking images and passing them off as your own work is very sketchy and dishonest. Since it is of a property whose copyright does not belong to anybody here, I hesitate to use the word stealing but you are, nevertheless, taking advantage of other people's work.
A legal notice is not required. All you have to do is go "Hey, I am making this. Would it be okay if I used the images you captured?" Just asking is always a courteous thing to do. It's not about legal issues: it's about ettiquette.

the only thing our group is representing is assembling the images into a map(they were at one time at a whole map), not that we made them or captured them ourselves . how exactly are we supposed to point out each person who captured files on a map short of it losing focus of why the person took the capture in the first place? our goal is to let the player experience the place as they recall the place as it was, and theirs other ways of doing so, like on a title screen for the area before it loads if you wanted to be placed there(some may not want their name in the work too).

Most games have a list of credits. Perhaps it could be an idea to put into said list who helped you capture the images? I think that would be a fair solution.

exactly our plans for it, because one of our goals is to preserve the game as much as possible, but its also tricky as even when we find screenshots its often not a match due to the fact the space evolved as it went(our rebuild is looking 2012-2013 pre all the paywalls), like for instance that map of celestial city it later had a pathway to walk in the clouds, i had to omit it due to not having the pieces originally, but i may be able to now thanks to liou's efforts. but we also get a nasty problem in that people keep giving us the same info over and over....i have incomplete maps all over our discord so people know exactly what map pieces we need and don't need. what sad is our goals is to just make the space more popular so they can actually remake it, i don't see it as they forgot to pay for the domain but we can all dream right?

this is the rough voice script for my update for youtube on petpet project(p.s. i have not yet recorded this) : "...so far the videos that have proven the most useful were the various spongebob themed chhannels on this(theirs 3 of them) and mmo hut,etc videos. also the neopian times forum user liou who had a excelent article "Peregrinations of a Park Petpet" which was very helpful to rebuiding nearly all of the youtube maps! This is where i can highlight the specific screenshots i used from that post. We do want to honor everyone who saved screenshots but this we plan to on the loading screens for the maps or credits, as not one person often captured all of the map areas as an individual.

twilson1118 please do not mention my username on this forum in a youtube video, I do not want such attention, especially as I was never asked if I wanted to contribute to the project in the first place. It's okay to credit me in a written list on a page or on a loading screen that will be seen with the game once you've made it. Please do not mention me in other media.
