Session 87: The Perils of LoveKey Points: *The six Shadowsworn are permitted to remain in Cai Shaan so long as the party are present.
*A service is held for the deceased Ulastrian.
*Night's Peace talks to Amani about the prospect of them becoming an archfey.
*Meallan returns. Recap Proper: On the 22nd of Iron, Amani wakes at their mother’s house while Tally wakes beside Captain Harroway. No time for tarrying however- Amani and Tally have a job to do! The pair meet the Shadowsworn drow where they stayed with Khamet, and take them to meet with Lord Lyrelle. Here they discuss the issue of short-term accommodation for the drow. Lyrelle agrees the Shadowsworn can stay at the palace, provided a member of the party is there with them at all times. They go over some local laws together to further safeguard against unfortunate incidents.
Khamet leads the party in planning a service for Ulastrian. He takes care to observe the customs of Ulastrian’s deity, Shore. That night, a service is held on the beach near the Party House ruins. Khamet says a short prayer and words are exchanged as the party remember the leonine celestial who died during their escape from Hell.
The next day Khamet introduces Cepith to Damira, Love and Charlie. With Will out searching for the other young succubi, Damira is still taking care of the Chipper Chipmunk. She and Love are relieved when Khamet tells them Will is alive, if concerned about his recent treatment at the hands of the Burning Hunger.
When Cepith and Khamet leave the Chipmunk, Cepith is quiet for a long time. As they pass back through Peninsula West, he admits that he doesn’t want their relationship to be a secret, even though he knows that is important to Khamet. Cepith thought he would be okay with that, but he’s not, and his time in hell only reinforced that. He asks if they can at least be open with Khamet’s adventuring buddies. Khamet apologises to Cepith for putting this on him, and says that he doesn’t have to hide their relationship if he doesn’t want to. It is agreed that the Disaster Party can at least be trusted with the information.
Amani reconnects with their swimmer friend Evaelia. They apologise for disappearing so suddenly without giving Evaelia notice, but the sea elf is just happy to see them again. Evaelia suggests they get back to swimming together some time.
Quelyta seems troubled. She pulls Tally aside and asks her to acquire an item- a small glowing orb- that will let the Shadowsworn confirm the growing suspicion that she is pregnant. Tally is very kind to Quelyta, and agrees to help without reservation.
While Tally is out shopping for one of these orbs, she sees a familiar tall figure striding into town. Meallan has returned. She immediately runs to embrace him. He is here for Anthony's wedding, and then plans to return to his wizard studies in Varentar.
There are still a few urgent issues to deal with. Tally sends a message to Yzzy informing her of the Shadowsworn presence in Cai Shaan, explaining everything including the mess with their souls. Khamet sets out to try and reconnect Cepith with Khamet, only to find out that Cepith will need to be back home in Anhur’s sphere of influence in order to do so. And when Amani contacts Night’s Peace one day, the archfey seems conflicted and hesitant.
Eventually Night’s Peace asks Amani if they would like to become an archfey. She believes that if the party kill Arcaito, Amani will have an opportunity to absorb his power and become an archfey themself. This is obviously a big decision. Amani says they’ll need to talk to their friends first.
The session ends with the party gearing up for Anthony’s wedding: but first, Khamet has a bachelor party to organise for him...

Session 88: The Bachelor Party Key Points:*Anthony's Bachelor Party takes place. *Cepith meets his demonic grandfather Qelix. *Anthony announces his decision to retire from adventuring. *The idea of the party becoming paid 'Heroes of the Realm' is first proposed. Recap Proper:It is the 26th of Iron- time for the much-hyped bachelor party! While Selwyn stays back to babysit the Shadowsworn; Amani, Tally, Anthony, Basil and Meallan head to a room downstairs at the palace, along with Quelyta.
Khamet and Cepith greet the guests at the door. Khamet is dressed in a leather jacket he borrowed from Anthony, with an eyepatch under some glasses to represent Anthony’s iconic sunglasses. Cepith is carrying an axe, and his hair is now blue and styled into tendrils like dragonborn head spikes. Khamet points the guests to a selection of blue and yellow arm bands. Choose blue for Team Tyzol and yellow for Team Anthony, he declares! Anthony’s travelling companions select yellow armbands for the main part, but Tally and Quelyta put on blue ones, and Anthony himself chooses blue. It is only right that he represent his bride-to-be, after all!
Khamet shows off the games he has set up: axe throwing on a temporary ice rink, a game called Get Buzzed where players need to guess whether what they are about to drink is wine or poison, and tire iron duelling (the term ‘tire iron’ being used very generously here, as they are really just some weapons that didn’t turn out right, which Khamet bought at a discount from a local smith.)
The party are also introduced to the Five Guys: Will, Batelf, Ovinrei, and then Meallan and Khamet themselves. These Five Guys will be in charge of cooking tonight- just like the Five Guys who apparently cooked for Anthony back home! While Batelf, Meallan, Will and Batelf get started, Khamet watches to make sure nobody dies playing Get Buzzed.
Khamet has to intervene a few times, but it’s finnnneee. Until Batelf emerges, declaring he suspects a conspiracy involving poison! When Batelf himself is poisoned, he groggily declares that he has found the poison. Khamet heals him and Meallan steers him back into the kitchen.
Next up is a tire iron duel! Anthony competes for Tyzol’s honour, while Basil and Meallan fight for his own! Meallan quickly disarms Anthony. While the firbolg is busy gloating, Basil leaps onto Meallan’s back screaming, slams the tire irons out of his hands, and takes the victory!
When it comes to skating and throwing axes, Cepith with his one working eye still manages the most accurate throw. Amani does poorly, the axe slamming into the ice not far ahead of them. To cheer them up, Khamet paints Arcaito, and Amani casts a ray of frost at it at close range. Take that, ancient archfey!!
Dinner is served. The group enjoys Khamet’s approximation of Five Guys, while Katu performs a song: Isksula, the Draconic song she composed herself based on one of Anthony’s most frequently blared tunes, Thunderstruck.
The evening winds down and the partygoers go their separate ways, most of them retiring for the night. Tally and Quelyta go to check on the Shadowsworn. They find them in a circle with Selwyn smoking horse grass and chilling out. Vicotra very vocally expresses her dislike of the Shadow Queen. Quelyta isn’t sure what she’s just walked in on, but at least they’re all alive.
The next day, while Amani and Meallan catch up, Khamet goes to the Chipper Chipmunk. He convinces a reluctant Will to summon Cepith’s demonic grandfather, as the grey fiend clearly cared about Cepith’s mum and it would be good for him to have a connection to his fiendish heritage. Will tells Khamet to return with Cepith after the Chipper Chipmunk closes for the night. There, they will attempt the summoning. The Disaster Party are called to a meeting with Lord Lyrelle. He makes them an offer: if the party agree to be Heroes of the Realm and rise to defend Cai Shaan in times of crisis, they can have a new house here, and each of them will receive 40gp a week from the government. He makes it clear that his accountant Merethi does not know about this yet- this is a lot more than he would ordinarily offer, but the party’s services are invaluable to him.
Most of the party are uncertain. Anthony, however, already has a plan: he announces to the party that he will be retiring from adventuring after his wedding. He has bought a tavern in Cai Shaan, where he will tend the bar and Tyzol will be a truly intimidating bouncer. Since he will be nearby anyway, Anthony is happy to accept the offer and defend Cai Shaan should the need arise. The rest of the party agree to discuss the opportunity further with Lyrelle after the wedding.
While most of the party turn in for the night- some at taverns, some at the palace, Amani at Naila’s house- Khamet leads Cepith down Peninsula West. When they enter the Chipper Chipmunk, Will has just finished setting up a protective circle marked with fiendish runes. Into this circle he summons Cepith’s grandfather, Qelix.
The tall, skinny, grey demon entirely lacks facial features, until his face splits into a broad smile when he sees Khamet. His grandson is so cool and handsome!!! Khamet points out that he has the wrong person: Cepith is his grandson. Qelix is no less delighted, and asks for a hug, with Cepith even stepping forward to awkwardly embrace his strange grandparent.
With the approaching wedding and Anthony’s upcoming departure on their minds, the party turn in for the night.

Hey everyone! Liou's suggestion for a new poll, 'Best Fiend', is now live on this thread. Vote away!!! You can vote for up to three fiendish characters.
(Wisp is absent from the list by virtue of no longer being a fiend, but his 'twin' Pahra is listed.)
