Gonna start writing brief recaps after each session. Here's one for session 25. Session 25: brief recapAfter a month apart, the Disaster Party reconvene at the Party House on the 28th of Realm 15002 (by our shiny new fantasy calendar!) There is a storm, but there is also a nervous young human at the door who wants them to investigate a spooky ghost ship. After some discussion, the party go with him to the wharf.
Once there, a pink-haired wood elf pounces on the party. Her name is Patience, and she is a wizard, and Solstriana told her she could supervise this investigation. Yay! A second individual, a sea elf called Vadonia, gives the party further details. And also lets the party know they can be rewarded for this.
Amani opts to cast water walk on the party, and Meallan casts water breathing as well just in case. The party literally just...walk out to the ship. When some of them climb up onto it, and Meallan floats the rest up with a 'fly' spell, the party realise that there is absolutely no sound. Really good if you want to be a sneaky thief...not so good if you're a caster and some angry ghosties have noticed you.
(Meallan flies around the outside of the ship casting eldritch blast from there, so that he can still use verbal spell components. Amani makes good use of their subtle spell ability to cast spells soundlessly.)
After the fight, the party go below deck. They see more people, some asleep and some not so much. They NOPE back up top, and Meallan hovers Batelf over the side of the ship (and out of the silent zone) with his 'fly' spell so that Batelf can work on casting pass without trace. With their new magical stealthiness, the party then sneak past these threats and down into the hold...where sound returns (hooray!) as they are confronted with three more ghosts checking their cargo.
After some back-and-forth during which it becomes clear the ghosts do not realise they are dead, combat begins. Batelf knocks out Emily and retrieves the sheet of paper she'd previously been holding- dated to exactly 1000 years ago. Flashing lights spring up around the room and blind half the party, and it's not too long before other strange things become apparent: every spell cast results in peculiar effects with Patience unable to speak, Meallan only able to speak by shouting, and Amani instead blowing pink bubbles every time they try to speak. Basil and Tally are badly hurt, but the two remaining ghosts are defeated and, with a hole tearing open in the side of the ship...which completely shreds a piece of rubbish Anthony tosses in...the party leave with the ghost captain (Emily) as their prisoner and return to port. By the time they reach the wharf, the ship has disappeared entirely.
They are awarded 300 gold, with Meallan successfully increasing this to 360 gold, and make plans to visit the wizard Solstriana with their ghostly captive.

Hi guys! Just a couple quick reminders for next session:
1. Instead of being on a Saturday GMT like most games, Session 26 will be on Monday 16th March, 7:00pm GMT.
2. Daylight savings starts very soon in the US! I know it doesn't affect all states, but if it affects you be sure to mentally adjust for our session start time accordingly. x)

A week until session 26! Well...a week and some hours, but who's counting? xP
I have to be somewhere four hours after game start, so let's aim to start right on time so we can get a solid three hours in!

Good news! I got the day wrong and have nowhere I need to be the day of next session, so unless other players have commitments we don't need to stick to a three hour deadline.
Also: a reminder that our next two sessions are the closest together they've ever been! On Saturday 21st March we have another session with Draco as our guest.

My computer's health is still up in the air. But I tested a Discord call via my phone and it can work. Though it might cut out for me more. I also don't think I should record via phone, so it may be on Celes to record this time. If my computer's behaving, I could probably manage something on the computer via a USB boot, but it would mean more setting up, so no guarantees.
So anyway, if my call quality sucks or I have to ask for clarification multiple times, that's why. I apologize in advance.
(And if it sounds weird, Amani has another case of allergies. One day I should decide what they're allergic to. Maybe they don't know either. Makes for very convenient vocal excuses, though!)
(This would be a good time to get a dedicated microphone or even a call headset... If the storms weren't swamped and it wasn't difficult enough as is. Sorry; I'm not that dedicated.)

Recently in-game, the Disaster Party (along with their Flower Gala invites) received some tickets to a play at the Old Yew Theatre (a smaller theatre located fairly centrally in the city, somewhere near the museum.) This play, called The Tragedy of Silverbeard, was attended by some combination of the Disaster Party a few nights prior to session 25/the 28th of Realm. (Anyone except Anthony (since he made his Dramatic Late Entrance) might have attended, at the discretion of their individual roleplayers. Anyway, here's the summary I finally got around to writing. It's based on historystuff which took place in Lustross 2000-and-some years ago so I figured it was a good idea to...actually scribble it down so you guys can know that stuff.) The production opens with an assembly of dwarves, portrayed by what appears to be a collection of halfling bodybuilders. They are discussing recent civil unrest. King Silverbeard, the focus of this tale, sports a false beard that is very literally metallic silver.
Doors at the rear of the stage open in a rush of red smoke. A tiefling enters- all of you except Basil can potentially recognise Aria, the ghostly pale tiefling from the support group. She here plays the role of a nameless tiefling man who offers Silverbeard the chance to summon a demon (titled the Queen of Conquerors) which will help him put an end to his kingdom's troubles. She is surprisingly self-assured in this role compared to when you spoke with her at the tavern!
Together Silverbeard and the tiefling chalk a circle onto the floor of the stage. At the latter's direction, the dwarven king then etches a few runes and recites the proper incantations. One by one nine candles spontaneously appear, evenly spaced around the perimeter of the circle, flickering with an intensely red flame. Before he departs, the tiefling warmly clasps Silverbeard's hand and leaves him a warning: when the fiend appears, be cautious. Avoid the traps hidden in its words. If you can do this, and maintain clear thought, you will gain everything you could ever desire.
(As an aside to drive the point home: one of the nameless dwarves conspiratorially reminds her friend that nobody can maintain clear thought in the face of a fiend's bargain, as such beings will offer everything you could ever desire while your own greed blinds you to the deception. The pair decide to escape to the country together before things get out of hand.)
Some time passes. Silverbeard is alone in his chambers weaving when the doors burst open, and red fog floods in accompanied by the Queen of Conquerors herself. The demon is here portrayed by a tall, curvaceous, crimson-cloaked human woman. The king immediately drops to one knee and pledges his undying fealty. Flames shoot into the air downstage.
The second act involves the king and his army of halfling bodybuilders conquering their way across the land. The effects are actually pretty good, although you feel like somebody spent way too much time mixing fake blood goop. Silverbeard wins with ease, his neighbours no match for the combined might of he and the Queen of Conquerors.
Before long, talk turns to invading nearby Eaine via Cai Shaan. It is not so far across the ocean, but usually the dwarves’ extreme aversion to water is enough. However, the Queen holds such power that she could spirit them across the ocean regardless. For the first time we see some elves actually playing elves, and they monologue for a bit about the situation and how much it sucks. You recall that this play was indeed written by elves and that elves...do tend to go on a bit.
Not to worry, however! Excitement is not far away! A mysterious dark-clad assassin takes out Silverbeard in another gratuitous fountain of fake blood! There is really way too much of the stuff.
The hood is pulled back, and the king’s killer is revealed as the dwarven courtier who earlier convinced her friend to escape to the country with her. Her friend was killed by Silverbeard’s invading forces, and she has claimed her bitter revenge; and now her friend’s spirit may rest in peace, and etc etc. After this five-minute monologue she is struck down by the king’s bodyguards. But even this is meaningless as, without the support of Silverbeard or the Queen, the empire quickly falls into ruin. We learn this from another monologue from the Queen of Conquerors herself, while she makes a show of beguiling a giggling member of the ensemble. It’s all very weird.
At the end, everyone gathers together at the front of the stage to take a bow.

Same for Chains and Gelquie, I think. >.<
Do we:
a) Try Skype?
b) Do this text-based in a forum group PM? Anyone connected to discord can optionally keep it open just to chat.
