Greetings fellow adventurers! It’s recently come to my attention that a fair few forumers would be interested in learning to play Dungeons and Dragons or, indeed, already play but would like to join another group. So Tiger and I are going to DM a couple of discord parties! Isn’t that swell? With Tiger in Americaland and myself in Britland we should, between us, be able to accommodate people in a range of timezones! This thread is for those who are interested to, well, express that interest! I can’t speak for Tiger, but my party will play via Discord once or twice a month (probably once, but twice in September because I want to do a session zero.) This Britland-based Party will aim to play from Thursday 5pm BST (GMT in winter), Tiger's party doesn't have a time yet, but if you're interested just let us know what times/days will suit in your timezone and we'll try to accommodate as many people as we can! Even the Britland party has some amount of flexibility, but those in nearby timezones will be prioritised, for obvious reasons. Interested? Just post below with your timezone and roughly when would suit, and we'll see what we can do! (Liou, Celes and Thundy need not post, as they're already confirmed and are indeed the basis for the European party!) *** Confirmed party members: (The name just refers to where the group is largely based, it doesn't mean only people from these areas can join!) North Americaland! Tiger (DM) Group 1 ShinkoGinz ❤ Rabbit ♠NutGroup 2 ♥ Azzie Arielle RielCZElcieEuropeland! (Capped at six members) Thorn (DM) Liou Thundy Celestial BreakingchainsGelquieMoni

*Raises hand*
I've always been interested in learning D&D, but it's a hard game to get into because D&D clubs tend to be Very Serious Business and its a bit of an intimidatingly complicated game in general. XD But if I had some friends to learn/play it with that'd make things much easier. =)
I'm in 'Muurica, specifically the Eastern Timezone along the Atlantic coast. The best days for me in general would be Wednesday or Thursday (when I'm off work and can play basically any time) but I could also swing Saturdays after 5:30 PM EST or Sundays after 6:30 PM EST.

For anyone considering joining the Americaland/Tiger-hosted session, I'm in the Eastern timezone! I work Monday-Friday and get home between 6 and 7pm, depending on the day's craziness and/or traffic, but I'd actually be inclined toward weekday evening sessions because my family tends to last-minute abduct me on weekends. However, we'll see what player schedules look like and go from there =) (I just can't, y'know, do afternoon weekday sessions XD) (I'd like to do a session 0 as well (basically, a get-together where we talk about how we want to play and manage the game, player expectations/desires, DM expectations/desires, and anything else that should be brought up before starting a campaign), for the record. We'll probably also discuss how frequently we play there as well, though I'm pretty sure it'll be either once or twice a month, like Thorn's group).

Ooh, this sounds really cool! I know very little about DnD, so there's a lot I would have to learn, but it sounds really fun! I'm in Central time, so I'd join the Americaland party, but unfortunately, I will be away for the second half of September, so that's bad timing... I imagine it'd be okay to miss a session somewhere in the middle if something comes up, but I bet the first couple of sessions with discussion and setting up would be essential, especially for someone who's never played before, like me. So if I'm not able to join, I might wait and hope this goes well and you'll run another session in the future! (I don't know how many sessions a game would be, but I'm not planning on leaving the forum anytime soon, so I can wait XD)
I was also wondering if there's any chance to join in just as an spectator sometime? I don't know if you're just creating a group chat on Discord, or plan on making a channel on the NTWF server, or creating a whole new server for it, but I think it could be interesting to see how its played, and start learning a bit more, even if I'm not participating.
Either way, this is a super cool idea, and I'm excited to see how it goes!

Ginz ❤, nah, that's not a huge deal =) Worst-case scenario, you miss a first or second session, but either ahead of your absence, or when you get back, you and I do a character-creation session together, I get you caught up if need-be, and then you join the party in the next session, reasons for that shouldn't be hard to come up with ^^ (or if you've already been introduced I maybe jaegar play for your character for a session if there's combat). There's a lot of learning that'll be repeated because it's easy to forget particulars, so it's no big =) That said, I'm not 100% positive if we're starting in September, although getting a foothold in before the holidays wouldn't be a bad idea. Thorn, when's your group getting started? As for spectating, I personally am cool with it, but my final decision for my session would depend on how the players feel; it's something I can put on the docket for a session 0 for sure ^^

Running to work or else I'd make a more thorough reply: my group is aiming to do session zero mid September. :-)

I'd love to join in! I know I can't do Thursday nights because I have another weekly game at that exact time, but as for other days I'm pretty open! (Wednesdays might be a bit tricky, but I can probably make it anyway.) This sounds like lots of fun ♥

What group are you looking to join, ♥ Azzie? I think you're in the States so you'd be closer to us Eastern/Central folks than Thorn and her group, but I'm not sure and don't wanna assume one way or the other XD

If anyone in an American timezone can make our session, feel free to let me know, cos otherwise it looks like Tiger may end up with a pretty big party!

Ah, Canada was my second guess! DnD North America! \ o / We'd be happy to have you, Azzie!
And yep, if anyone would find it easier/would prefer to be in Thorn's session, gofer it! Currently DnD NA is at four interested people; if I get over six, we'll probably have to start thinking about splitting into two groups, and either I DM both or we start looking for a third DM! XDD

My soft limit for my group is five, hopefully we can shuffle people around enough so we won't have more than six each. But yeah if a third DM crops up, I won't complain. =P
I may not be as cool as Tiger but I'm making up for that with elves, guys. Elves everywhere! And festivals! You like festivals right??? Of course you do! You can spend your starting gold on cool stuff you'll never use. Or, like, 30 ft of hempen rope. Whatever floats your boat.

If it's worth anything, I might be interested. I never played DND before, but I have been curious about it. Of course, it does depend on my schedule and when the sessions are, but if it can work, I might join in. (As for timezones, I am in Eastern Standard Time) I am 100% for the idea, though. Even if I'm not joining in, this is a nice idea.
