Kopi looked up at Kohimu as he spoke. He had heard about his death and about what Svar had done. After everything Svar had done, Kopi wasn’t sure if he even did that by accident. Kopi couldn’t imagine Svar killing other animals, especially in the way he killed Kohimu. Dying like that isn't something Kopi wanted anyone to have to experience.
Svar grew faint and flickered. He breathed and crackled before he spoke. He… apologized. Kopi wasn’t expecting an apology from him that easily. Then again, it had been a year. A year was a long time and Svar probably thought about what he had done.
“Do you really think an apology will do anything?” Tash hissed. “Where was that remorse when we needed it? Did you only start feeling sorry after you killed Kopi and Kohimu? Or are you just sorry that you got caught and killed like your victims were?”
Kopi quickly looked at the artacat and said, “Tash, please-”
“Please what, Kopi?” Tash interrupted. “Svar killed you.” She looked over at him and Kohimu. “He killed both of you. You’re alive now, but that doesn’t change what he did.” She turned back at Svar and growled. “Oh, you have no idea how much I wanted to be the one to kill you, Svar. And you wanted to serve again? Why didn’t you serve Spirit instead? She looks after horrible creatures like you, she deserves-”
“Tash, it isn’t that simple.”
“How would you know, Kopi?”
“I’m a guardian, remember?”
Tash immediately got quiet. The fact that Kopi was the healer slipped her mind for a minute. Kopi would know more about Spirit than she would.
“I’m not sure how serving Spirit works, but I know you can’t serve her simply by saying you want to serve someone,” Kopi informed. “Yelling isn’t going to solve anything and Svar is a ghost-” Kopi glanced at Svar. If he was a ghost, he was a lot different from the others he had seen. “-or at least I think he’s one. You can’t harm him normally." The cunicanine turned to Tash, then to Kohimu. "Not that I would want either of you to do so, anyway.”
Kopi stood up and took another step towards Svar. “I know you were scared. I know you were worried. I know you were concerned about others going after you. I know exactly how you felt. However, we both know what you did wasn’t the way to solve everything. It only caused worry and fear for all the innocent residents.” He sat back down. “I’m sure it caused you worry and fear as well. Even if you were serving another being like you said you wanted to do, it was more than you expected. Is that right?”
Morag told the kits about this Water of the Spirit and handed them some walnut shells. Mulberry grabbed onto the shell with her mouth and dipped it into this special water. Solier and Pewter had a bit of trouble holding onto the shells, but they managed to keep a hold on them as they got their share.
Mulberry, Pewter, and Solier counted to three before they all took a sip of this water at the same time. It tasted sweet and different. It wasn’t like anything they’ve had before. They liked it.
“Wow, that’s pretty nice,” Mulberry said. Her head was going into a strange and enjoyable daze. The young cunicanine took the walnut shell she had used before, filled it up with the water, and placed it in front of Morag. “How did you make it?”

Kopi and Tash listen to Kohimu (Thorn ) speak. Kopi can't help but feel bad to what happened to him. Svar (Celestial ) apologizes, but Tash doesn't believe him. She yells and hisses at him before Kopi stops her. He then talks to Svar about what he felt and how being a sower might have been more than he bargained for.
Meanwhile, the kits take some of Morag's booze and they like it. Congrats, Morag, you have given them their first alcoholic beverage.
