A day late for saying this, but Caves and Corridors had potential to be incredibly enjoyable IMO, considering how I have a soft spot for platformers. Unintuitive controls are its main downfall. Even after much practice with the game, I still settled for 1,486 for DD rather than the 2,070-2,080 range which I usually aim for.
That top rock in the ninth level still haunts me, as it almost always has an unlucky pattern that makes the level so much slower and therefore reduces your time bonus. And those arrow-firing tikis...
Anyways, Volcano Run II shouldn't be too hard. Let's see how I do today...

Had to go with Abi's score. Got up to 463 one run, but at that point I was already frustrated, and it's the last dayy, and I lost the gold trophy on day one. I knew I'd be getting silver, so I tried one more time, got 200 something and just went with Abi. Oh well.

Soooo I had a work break when 12AM NST hit and visited the DD page. The page didn't load, but I got the participation prizes in my inventory.
Except they were last year's prizes.
Might wanna wait a while until this gets fixed. (The correct trophy was awarded just fine, though.)

And I wish I had checked here or the boards before going to the page and getting the glitched prizes x.x
I went ahead and discarded them and I hope they'll award the proper ones to those who got the glitched set, but considering I'm still waiting on the promised collectible cards from the editorial, plus some with the glitched charity corner avie, plus the glitched Lulu prize, I'm thinking the odds of this being fixed are close to zero and I discarded the only prizes I'd get.

Well, I didn't get any prizes, but I did get a trophy - which reads Daily Dare 2016 even though the trophy itself has 2018 on it xD
I do appreciate them throwing event after event at us but man, the analogy with a tangled ball of yarn just keeps getting more apt. Stop pulling out more yarn nonstop and take some time off to actually focus on untangling it, otherwise you'll have a completely untangle-able mess on your hands before you know it and then the only remaining option is a flamethrower.

Okay, prizes obtained
...
In triplicate.
Just albuming the charm, putting the rest of the prizes in my SDB and discarding the other two sets.
No word on the missing Lulu prize though.

My prizes were nothing writing home about, which is understandable given how I didn't really do well this year. Is it just me, though, (and it probably is just me), or was this the hardest Daily Dare yet? It felt like I struggled reaching AAA's scores a lot more than usual.
I mean, I suppose that a good challenge can be fun in its own way, although it felt a little more frustrating this year. I can't quite tell how.

Hardest Daily Dare, at least IMO was probably 1 or 2.

I felt like this was a pretty fair DD (completely valid issues with them selecting word games aside--they shouldn't do that). Ordinarily I'll breeze through these things except for one or two extremely frustrating days that just have me scratching my head, but this time all of the scores were reasonably high without being pure insanity. Final prizes are nice, trophies look nice, and some of the daily prizes were rad.
There's apparently some upset about the fact that they re-released the 2007 avatar. But there was really no reason to make that particular av available for one year only in the first place IMHO. It's not a special one-time event, it's not a particularly fancy av (just a nice basic character avatar), and it didn't take a ton of effort to get in either instance, so I'm totally cool with its re-release.

I agree. I'm all up for old retired avies getting re-released.

Hahaha, darn it, I would have liked to get that avvie. :') But I only did 11 AAA challenges this year. Oh, well.
(ETA: I also thought this was the hardest DD too, at least among the ones I've actually participated in.)
Also, I'm so glad I was keeping up with this thread and looked at the spoilered future games, 'cause that's how I concluded that yesterday was the last day. (I mean, I read the news too, but still.) A lot of people seem to have been screwed over by that extra box on the DD main page and thought they had one more day to catch up. :/

At lest fill it with a picture of AAA and Abagail, or something. I mean, there were 20 days. Would have been easy to do a 4x5 or 5x4 grid. The 7x3 (or would it be 3x7?) grid makes no sense.

The re-release of the AAA avatar was a nice surprise! I saw a few boards about it and I guess TNT decided to listen. Kinda crappy they pick the year with some questionable game choices like Word Pyramid, although the requirements apparently meant you could still get the av even if you skipped that day.
I'm really not liking how inconsistent they are with trophy backgrounds being opaque or clear, though >_> It looks wonky on any UL that's even somewhat fancy.
All in all, I liked this DD. The usual-suspects obnoxious game choices (i.e. SHB) were a headache, but some of the others like Caves and Corridors were sort of a nice surprise to see included. I'm glad that TNT came to their senses and decided against Eliv Thade and Hubrid's Hero Heist (the latter is I believe only available in English from what I saw on the boards). Considering whoever writes the news and some of the item descriptions acts like they speak English as a second language, I'm surprised a word game based on English was included in the first place.

DAILY DARE 2018 THOUGHTS:
CHALLENGES: For the most part I didn't have that hard of a time. Yes, there were days that were hair pulling frustrating (Zurroball, Super Hasee Bounce) and others that too some time to do (Ice Cream Machine, Piper Panic), but there was also games that I got in one go or only needed a few tries. If I were to complain about one thing was the number of games that relied on either an equal or more amount of luck than skill (notable ones would be Super Hasee Bounce, Kou-Jong, & Turmac Roll). I don't mind a few, but feels like about half the games had some heavy leaning luck based element which could either make or break the game. But overall I felt it gave us a fair balance of challenge. Sure, some scores were high, but that's the point, AAA is a top gamer and you're trying to beat his high score.
DAILY PRIZES: I often felt the daily prizes were hit or miss, either because they felt underwhelming or thought that who awarded what should have been swapped around. Though I do think there was a fair mix of items, notably wearables, books, and even weapons. And some of the wearables do look nice, though some of the weapons are making me afraid of power creep happening (that said I do love the idea of basing weapons off games). And why the heck was a stamp a bonus prize and not an AAA prize (not that it matter, it's already reaching TP prices)?
NC ACCOMPANIMENT: Didn't really pay attention to it this year, though giving it a glance I kind of think what was given out was "blah".
FINAL PRIZES: TROPHIES: Look okay, wish they looked more different aside from color. Like past years they had the controller look different depending on your placement, like an Atari 2600 joystick for Bronze, NES/SNES/SEGA Genesis controller for Silver, and a Dual Shock/GameCube controller for Gold. ITEMS: Charm looks bland, background is alright, book is nothing special, though I do like the animation of the slushie. AVATAR: Not this is interesting, they re-released an old 2007 avatar. I'm alright with this, I think they should start finding ways to re-release some of the many retired Avatars we have now. Not all of them, like the ones for past plots/events should remain as such, but I could make a list of ones which I don't see the harm re-releasing. SITE THEME: Why the Chadley one?

the challenge this year, besides 1 or 2 games, was actually a little bit easier. usually, I'm able to get Silver, due to those 1 or 2 games being god-awful or RNG hard, but for the most part, it was all doable.
and the "knockout" games were ones that I had tons of skill in. Turmac roll, Ice cream machine, zurroball were pieces of cake due to this.
however, Super hasee bounce and lost city lanes can go die in a fire.
