Heyo folks! I've been asked some questions over PMs and on discord that I wanna repost here for the sake of keeping everyone in the loop.
1) How big is the island?
-Not huge; think of it about the size of Puerto Rico in terms of space (So about 3500 square miles/8300 square kilometers). In theory a flying creature could travel the whole circumference of the island in about half a day. On the ground you could probably make the trip over the course of twenty-four hours. Of course, it's a lot faster to just travel directly from point A to point B instead of circling the whole island, ahaha.
2) Could there reasonably be human trash/artifacts that washed up on the island's shores?
-No; considering that human trash and litter is part of what's damaging the ecosystems of a lot of animals (for example, marine animals that eat jellyfish will frequently eat plastic groccery bags in the ocean and die) it would be counter intuitive to a paradise for extinct species for that to happen.
3) What is the climate/weather/etc like on the island?
-The island is temperate climate- probably fairly dry summers and wet winters, not much in the way of spring or fall. Temperatures are generally mild year round. Also this'll be established in the first narratorpost, but the island has a quirk were every night at around 2 AM it will be wreathed in mist, which doesn't burn off until around 10 AM.
4) Can I use XYZ creature from [franchise]?
-Sorry, no; stick to creatures from mythology or works so old they are in the public domain. (Though if the franchisebeast is based on a real-world mythological creature, feel free to borrow that creature instead!)
5) Can my creature have been born in the outside world and remember it?
-This is a case-by-case issue. The short answer is; it depends on what your creature is. If it's a mythological creature who's lifespan is near-infinite, sure. If it's an animal that still exists in the real world, or only went extinct within that animal's reasonable lifetime, sure. If it's an animal that went extinct longer ago than the animal's lifespan, no; the creature must have been born on Naelus and lived there all their life.
If you have any more questions, by all means feel free to ask!
