Official Update on Wraith item caps:So I guess this means some will be able to finish their Achievements... though doesn't help those who used up all their materials (not to mention is there going to be a patient after Fyora?). You know, even if they reset the caps just once it might help those who at least used up all their materials.

Looks like they gimped the Winged Palm Blade. They removed the 6 Nature attack aspect of it, leaving 5 Light, 5 Fire, and 1-6 Physical.

I went to train my pet just now and there was fog at the training school. So there was a potion in my inventory but there wasn't an option to clear the fog. It just says that I want to get away from there. So I can still train my pet and everything. Is this normal? I haven't trained in a while.

Each place with the fog needs a specific potion to clear it, and that's the one that's required for the Training School. (Also, clearing the fog doesn't work too well on Firefox, so I'd use another browser like Chrome) Regardless, you can still train your pet. If I recall right, the fog only affects the entrance of the Training School. The Courses and Status pages are unaffected, so if you are unable to clear the fog for whatever reason, you can still train your pet without any hassle.

So I just had a really interesting idea/theory regarding this plot. (I can't remember if we put our own theories in spoilers, so I will, just in case.) What if the potions we're giving them only cure them temporarily? Enough to lure us into a false sense of security? Like that's only a short term effect. And since they all use different wraith parts, (fur, fang, claw, etc.) what if at the end, they all combine together into a super powerful wraith, using the wraith parts to increase their power?

The overall forum stance on spoilers (summed up on dis fine thread) is that information that hasn't been released on site yet should be spoilerboxed. If it's already out on the site, it's fair game, although this thread seems to be erring more on the side of caution on the whole and people spoilerbox plot steps that've just been released. Personally, I always catch up on Neopets before I come to the forum anyway (spoilers be sneaky, and being a mod means I need to read everything anyway xD) and I don't use spoilerboxes if a step has been out for a few days or if it's pure speculation, cos I figure that the fewer hoops people have to jump to read my posts, the better. And if your theory is correct then we may just have collectively possessed Fyora and her infirmary buddies :'D (Wait, why are we trusting Taelia with this healing business again? I don't recall her being an expert on how to stuff evil creatures' body parts into potions for a positive treatment response.)

(Wait, why are we trusting Taelia with this healing business again? I don't recall her being an expert on how to stuff evil creatures' body parts into potions for a positive treatment response.) Ooooh, my theory / headcanon is that Taelia is a more efficient, more reliable healer than Marina, since Taelia saves Neopians in critical condition when she rescues them from the blizzard, and she never gets mixed up between snowball magic and healing magic. Everyone just avoids hurting Marina's feelings about this. (I also headcanon that Marina and Taelia have a long-standing feud / rivalry / 'ship of some sort, and I may have a few drabbles about them gathering dust somewhere. >.>)So if Herdy 's delightful conspiracy theory is correct, that would mean that they had to leave Marina out of the whole plot so that she wouldn't spill the beans. On potential Big Bads: if this Big Bad can indeed beat up Fyora in a real fight, they had BETTER be the Darkest Faerie or Xandra or equally powerful, otherwise I will be mad.
DarkestFaerieDarkestFaerieDarkestFaerieDarkestFaerieDarkestFaerie pleasepleaseplease. (Hi I am just following this plot from a distance since I can't bring myself to re-install *shudder* Chrome to catch up on the steps)

(Hi I am just following this plot from a distance since I can't bring myself to re-install *shudder* Chrome to catch up on the steps) See, I always headcanoned that Marina is a bit of a *vague handwave* ...well, jerkface, and all her toxic snowballs are a subtle way of saying that you should just take care of your enemies once and for all, preferably without leaving a trace, instead of getting beaten and needing healing over and over again. Girl's gotta be crazy overworked. ^comic idea I've had bouncing around for ages, if I wasn't a lazy bum >> Ooh, but if it was the Darkest Faerie behind all this, then it'd tie up nicely with an old bit of site lore, and update said lore, and contain some neat bit of foreshadowing with those Purple Contacts that were discussed on this thread a few pages back, and stir up some nice nostalgia-driven re-release goodness for the game.

Big spoiler spoiler. If it was going to be the Darkest Faerie or anyone else, its been very poorly forshadowed. We were shown the big bad in the opening video - obscured, but with a cloak. The figure that escaped us in the woods had that cloak - and no Faerie wings.
The same cloak is on the shop wizard, intended to be an NC prize for one of the remaining coffers. It reveals the big bad's name - Malum. Now that might end up being someone who serves a further big bad in some way, but like I say its very poorly set up if that's the case. Far more likely Malum's behind it all.

In all fairness, Taelia making the potions out of Wraith parts is more or less using the same principle behind how many real-life vaccines and antidotes are made.

Another step It's the bridge again (aka the Wild Woods). If you're successful, you will find the Neopian responsible (a Lupe). Kaia will also yell at you

Grrr. I am not enjoying the drop rate of wraith blood on easy. 'Tis my own fault for not training enough to beat him on medium, but still. I've battled him 20 times so far and have only gotten 3 wraith blood drops.

I've battled him 20 times so far and have only gotten 3 wraith blood drops. It's not demonstrably easier to get drops on harder difficulties. I've beaten every enemy on hard so far, and I don't get drops all that often. Like maybe once every 5 fights. Really stupid the drop rate is inconsistent yet extra fights don't mean anything.

Talked about it on the Neoboards, might as well talk about it here: that new dialogue. The argument between Kaia and Aethia. Sweet Fyora, I get what JS was trying to do, but that dialogue felt stilted and awkward. Kaia comes out as bratty & disrespectful and Aethia a wimp for just taking Kaia's insults and not showing any authority. Decided to rewrite it to make it feel more natural and closer to in-character: Aethia: I forbid every one of you – faeries and Neopets alike – from entering the Wild Woods. We have no idea what we're dealing with. Kaia: But we must find and punish the creature responsible for Fyora's condition! I think I know who it is too. I've seen them in my visions. A cloaked figure with a glowing red broach, skulking around in the woods. It's at an path split completely blocked by rubble, I know where to go! Aethia: No! If it can harm Fyora, it can harm you too. Kaia: I am not taking orders from you, Aethia! Aethia: Yes you are! You're doing exactly what I tell you to do. With Fyora injured I am now leading this operation. And even if Fyora was you still would take orders from me. Do I make myself clear? Kaia: Y-yes. Aethia: Look, I'm telling you for your own good. Don't try to be heroic and go looking for that creature. We don't need any more casualties. Kaia: But it hurt Fyora! We have to do something! Aren't you mad?! Aethia: I'm not mad, I'm furious. Whatever did this Fyora will feel every bit of my and Faerieland's wrath when we find it. But right now we need to figure out what we're dealing with and how we can combat it, not to mention handle any incoming Wraith attack. (Kaia keeps arguing) Kaia: How can we figure out what we're dealing with out here? The answer lies in the Wild Woods! If you're too afraid to go in the Wild Woods than let me, I'm not afraid!
Aethia: That's enough, Kaia! This has nothing to do with foolhardy bravery! The situation is dire and you're not making it any better with your insubordination. I'm confining you to your quarters until further notice. Guards, take Kaia back to her tent and make sure she doesn't try escaping into the Wild Woods.
Guard 1: *Walks next to Kaia and holds her arm* You've done it now, Kaia. Please make this easy, come with us and don't resist.
Guard 2: Here we are. Kaia, please stay in your tent until Aethia asks for you. Believe us, Aethia is just as upset as you about Fyora's condition. She's only trying to protect everyone, everything is under control. If you need us, we'll be just outside.
Kaia: The answer are in the Wild Woods, I know they are. Every second we wait it's getting further and further away. I have to go now! *Reaches into sleeve and takes out a small vial* Winds of a Kazeriu, takes you where you want to be. Thank you, Reizo.
Guard 1: Whoa! Where did that gust of wind come from?
Guard 2: It came from... inside Kaia's tent! *Looks inside to see Kaia is gone* Alert Aethia! We need to send out a search party into the Wild Woods! Kaia has escaped!
END (Kaia backs off) Kaia: So what are we to do now?
Aethia: What we've been doing, but better. Kaia, you keep focusing on your visions, not only searching for new Wraiths but also trying to learn more about this cloaked figure. If you learn anything immediately report it directly to me.
Kaia: Yes ma'am. *Waits for Aethia to walk away* But the longer we wait the further away the answer goes. The answer lies in the woods, I know it.
Light Faerie: Aethia, have you seen Kaia? She's not at her table or in her tent.
Aethia: No, could she be at Fyora's bedside?
Taelia: No, and I'm afraid she may be in danger!
Aethia: Taelia, what's the matter?
Taelia: While tending to the patients, the Meerca told me that he overheard Kaia talking to Fyora that she's going to find who did this to her. I'm worried she went into the Wild Woods alone.
Aethia: Send a search party into the Wild Woods, now!
END If you're wondering why the two different endings. Originally I had Kaia continue arguing with Aethia but many felt it was too melodramatic (and found the way she escaped silly), so I wrote the second one where he back offs. I personally feel the first one fits with the tone JS was trying to go for (though overdramatic, I think it shows stronger convictions (and craftiness) from Kaia, Aethia showing more authority, and just more interesting than just her "agreeing" with Aethia only to sneak off).
