Hey, Fraze, just wondering... I know you said you didn't want to pin down a deadline to give people some wiggle room if they really got revving on interactions, and that's fine. But mmmmaybe could we have at least a tentative timeline for the round length? As it stands we don't know if we're looking at three days or a week or something in between, and for a lot of folks this weekend is pretty busy since it's Father's Day in the US tomorrow. XD We all have giant anime question marks floating over our heads with regards to how long we have to get interactions done, or in fact get the initial introduction post done at all for some folks.

Semi-relatedly, I kinda find it amusing that in Hero City I explicitly said "Your characters can be literally ANYTHING go nuts!" and in the PCs we had 99% normal (if superpowered) humans, with the sole exceptions being Dude Bro as an alien (which was largely downplayed) and Fireflyman. But here the rule for characters was "keep it subtle, m'kay?" and almost everyone is an implied cryptid. XD Clearly I should've added an air of mystery and intrigue to the character creation. =O You forgot the space princess! Definitely an alien, that one. Maybe the characters were all so good at being secret-aliens, even their writers didn't suspect a thing. EDIT: Celes, I have a reply for you! Going museuming for most of today though, so no rush.

What she's really looking forward to though, are the Wrighton Spring Races* next weekend. Any excuse to dress up in a skimpy, revealing dress, wear a flower crown, and drink way too much is always welcome with Sasha!! Especially if there are hot guys around. But they do have to be cute. She's got standards. *Will this be a nuisance if I mention that as an upcoming event goderators? I'm by no means set on it and quite willing to tweak my plans (: Sounds quite fine! The players are welcome to come up with their own possible events for the fair. Although what kind of race are you thinking of - horse race, automobile race, or something else? Semi-relatedly, I kinda find it amusing that in Hero City I explicitly said "Your characters can be literally ANYTHING go nuts!" and in the PCs we had 99% normal (if superpowered) humans, with the sole exceptions being Dude Bro as an alien (which was largely downplayed) and Fireflyman. XD Clearly I should've added an air of mystery and intrigue to the character creation. =O Yeah, it's been really cool to see the directions people are taking their characters! I feel like there are a lot more characters than in previous RPs where I go "Yeah, I can imagine meeting that person in real life." It's like people are channeling their characters' potential weirdness into maybe-possibly-but-also-maybe-not-paranormal traits and then otherwise making them regular people. It's a pretty interesting effect and I've really been enjoying what people have come up with so far! Hey, Fraze, just wondering... Yyyyeah that's probably true. I was trying to avoid giving too strict guidelines because I didn't want to limit people in what they tried to do with this round, but some more clear guidelines are probably good at this point. We'll probably be starting Round 1 around the 20th (Tuesday), but again, if people are really involved in interactions then that can be extended a little bit. I foresee the actual rounds lasting 5-7 days each, but some of the more puzzle-heavy ones may go a bit longer than that.

Actually, Fraze, while we are on the subject of organisation, I'd like to run something by you. Traditionally, RPs like this had a dedicated temporary sub-board on Splatterboard for the sake of organisation. This was done to keep the individual rounds together and keep all the related threads in one place, such as the OOC chat, a thread for deadlines and a roster of everyone's characters. This was then all merged together into one thread at the end of the game, and some threads (like round deadlines) were deleted because they had no use anymore. I am wondering if you would like something like that too? It might be especially useful if we're keeping all discussion about the game on-forum?

I brought that up earlier, he said he doesn't want a sub-board because he only intends there to be two threads- the OOC chat and the one roleplay thread that'll just keep getting added to in each round. But anyway, Tuesday, awesome, thanks Fraze!

I am wondering if you would like something like that too? It might be especially useful if we're keeping all discussion about the game on-forum? These are the topics our marital squabbles are made of Yeah, basically we're approaching this with the age-old guideline of "it gets a subboard if it looks like it'll be needed" and for the time being we don't think there'll be enough threads to warrant it. The roleplay will run continuously in one thread, with chapter headers and other such artz to break it up a bit; in the past the average chapter lasted maybe 2-3 pages and this one isn't likely to bloat past that (although I'll be very glad if y'all surprise me there) so having them in separate threads wouldn't really serve a purpose. And having a separate thread for rosters and deadlines always bugged me, moreso when they were stickied, because I had to go specifically digging for relevant information. That said, if it looks like more threads are needed and the Splatterboard is getting too cluttered, we absolutely can and will shuffle things into a subboard (the trick is recognizing when it becomes necessary; someone poke me in the eyeball if it looks like we're in subboard territory and aren't noticing it yet). We just don't want to do it right off the bat for no reason other than shoehorning the event into past formats, lest this gets worn into the sort of groove that intimidates future gamehosts to follow unwritten rules or perish. Kinda like how the Issue Reviews threads collapsed under all the perceived structuring. tldr: roleplay rebels 4lyfe \m/

((Real talk, though: I'm getting a bit mixed up about who's in the park and who's in the marketplace, and I didn't want to mess it up XD; I have no idea who's in the park and who's in the marketplace and I have started to picture it as a kind of fusion hybrid of park and marketplace. =D; A parketplace.

Yeah, since the park and the marketplace are right next to each other, I just sort of figure they blend together in the town, especially with the festival being set up.

Celestial I believe Fionn and Dion are in the market, right? Although June has a point, if they're kind of blended together that doesn't matter much. xD

Ayep, the marketplace and the park form a sort of general fair area, especially considering that traffic is most likely restricted on all adjacent streets.
Hypothetically and theoretically we could do that thing once done in the Guilds where people post color-coded location markers at the start of their posts (orrr possibly in the summary spoilerboxes?) I remember it being pretty useful for situations like these because you can see at a glimpse who else is in your general area and might be relevant to your posts.

*waves magic wand and my profile changes, sorta*
Stingers signature is staying until I can think of a character-related thing to put in there. XD

So to the various peoples who have suddenly been confronted with a cheery Fionn: I'll keep Dion quiet for now, I'll react with her once a few of you have replied. She's there to observe and learn and obviously it is easier to do that when being quiet. =P (though on another note: da'aww Celestial, he wants to get to know her in spite of her eccentricities! And he thinks she's pretty! I may have melted a little, you were right when you called him a puppy, he definitely has that kind of personality. xD)

This weekend has been busy as all get out, so I feel like I'm behind on posting and interactions xP I'll be sure to post tonight, although I'm wondering, if round one is starting on Tuesday, will that mean that the current round will end tomorrow? (I did at least finish up a profile pic for the game; here's the full version...

I'M GOING TO CHANGE MY PROFILE PIC BEFORE ROUND ONE, I SWEAR. I'm just lazy. >.>
And Twillie, I love your profile pic. I really appreciate the bunnies. (Lop ears, I love them.)
