I feel like Harper's mom wouldn't let them keep a cat (cat hair in the circuit boards, cats knocking over electrical devices, cats sitting on technical blueprints...). But apparently Harper does like cats so =P

#1 - Apparently yes.
#2 - I could see Harper sneakily buying a smallish bag of cat food and having that on hand to sekritly feed kitty if it comes by.
#3 - Would probably depend on what the kitty looked like. Toesocks (kitty has white toes. ...I guess technically that means she's wearing fingerless gloves but shhhhh)
#4 - Will give nice backscratches. Almost always talks in whispers for some reason and won't let kitty explore the house or workshop >8C It seems like others are saying "meat!" to #2, so maybe Harper feeding them kibble would stick out in Kitty's mind as different. Also smells a little odd, and not just in the "their hands smell like metal because they've been working in the shop" kind of odd (though there is that, too).

I've made an initial post with more Cat^(tm) details-- but in short:

Cat is mostly black except for white-tipped toes. Female. Short-haired. Extremely, extremely greedy, friendly, and probably fat as a hippo. 8D

Late reply is late, but yes, Ro would definitely like cats. Envy them a bit, even. They always seem so sure of themselves...

2. Probably bunny meat or chicken. Or whatever else she's got lying around, perhaps even pizza if she felt too tired to make dinner.
3. As for a name....I'm not sure. Probably a RW like Monody or something. XD
4. The human that always smells like a dog, but sometimes sings and is good at loooong pets, head to tail~

Ooh, a questionnaire.

1) Ani sure likes cats. She has a cat ear headband.
2) If she had a choice, then probably canned chicken or tuna.
3) Hmm, I think she would name it Scraps. That's a cute name for a kitty.
4) If I were a cat, I would describe Ani as quiet, which is perfect. She reads these big books a lot, which make a good napping spot. She's really playful when in the mood (or when bugged enough).

Holly will dub the cat "Winnie" and joke that she is as fat and greedy as Winnie the Pooh. Alternate titles include "Mooch" and "Scamp."

Hmm. Velia might smell like plants/flowers, as she's surrounded by them at home. Maybe also a little like fruity-scented kid's soap. I can imagine that she probably only buys the shampoo brand that has cartoon characters slapped on it. :P

As for how she sounds, I'm not as sure. Anyone adept at discerning tones could probably easily tell that her enthusiasm is genuine, though.

While she does like them, Velia won't approach or touch any animals.
I wouldn't say she's afraid of them but... okay, yeah, she's afraid of them.

Sasha may or may not be making too many appearances because of my own busy schedule, but Sasha is mildly a cat person and would love to let a wandering cat adopt her! She would gladly feed it tidbits of salmon which she keeps a plentiful supply of for making sushi. Before too long though she would find cat charms insufficient to convince her to continue parting with tidbits of salmon and would turn to tuna instead (tuna on toast being a favourite after work snack of hers) and if her association with cat went on long enough, or if cat demanded more food forcibly enough, she would probably just start buying supermarket cat food - and then it would be the true test of the relationship to see if cat will stand for the substandard food!
Name of cat may depend on appearance as others have said, but failing that, probably Mr Tibbles
As a cat, I would notice Sasha's lovely stockinged legs - wonderful for winding a cat body around, gentle hands without nasty hard rings, a voice that normally sounds a little on the harsh side unless she's specifically crooning at cat, and annoyingly floral perfumy smell - not overpowering but definitely there.

and I hope this will suffice because I am really not a cat person irl so I really have no idea

Just a random fun fact: I actually bought a pack of reporters notebooks last October for my Reporter Halloween costume. They're still a real thing you can find in an office supply store. They're four by eight inches, at least the ones I found, and they are literally called "Reporters Notebook." Made it pretty easy to figure out I had the right thing.

I will answer for Sharron Bizelli, because she's been in town these past few years, and would have more of a chance to develop a relationship with cats in town.

1. Sharron does like cats.
2. But feels no need to feed strays </3
3. Charles Dickens, or some such literary reference.
4. Friendly enough, won't chase away or anything, happy to lend a yard to sunbathe, but mostly worthless because she never feeds them anything special.

Oh, cat posts got me excited now! x)

1. Absolutely adores cats, they and rabbits are her favorites
2. Depends where she's at; Liz already likes to feed the stray cats that come by the cathedral while she's at work (mentioned in my first post, where it references her two regulars Mary and Frankenstein, as well as other strays). For them, she gives a tray of cat food and water. If she's at home, then she'd probably give scraps of meat, either chicken or beef or fish, probably.
3. If you'd like, you can claim one of the Mary or Frankenstein cats since they're the most frequent ones to beg to Liz at the cathedral. If not, then she'd probably give her a very adult or referential name, like Ophelia, Raven, Katherina, etc.
4. The Rabbit/Bunny lady (probably smells like her pet rabbits, or Cat might have seen rabbits if at Liz's house), the Scary Tall lady (already naturally tall, wears platform boots), or just the Scary or Dark and Scary lady (goth clothing and makeup, multiple face piercings and heavy makeup, especially around eyes, long black hair, low voice)

Hmm, one idea for Athene's job, and simultaneously her stand, could be that maybe she's a chef? And perhaps even one that specializes more on the side of health foods or diets for athletes, so maybe even a personal trainer in that aspect.

Or maybe a pharmacist, and her stand could be an informational one for the hospital or local drugstore/pharmacy, safe use of drugs and prescriptions, when to get one, signs of common diseases and infections, etc.

Or, maybe she is/was a professional athlete herself, and also or now works at a gym or rec center, and her stand could be for information for that?

Hopefully some of these suggestions help, I sort of leaned on the physical/health side of things as well, but if you're looking for occupations outside of that field also, I can help think of some others for that too

1. Wow, hmm, I'm really not sure if Anise, resident cat lady and proprietor of Wrighton's best accidental cat cafe, would-- Naw just kidding she loves kitties 8D
2. Anise probably has all kinds of cat food on offer, mostly storebought wet or dry food, but would treat them with pieces of raw fish sometimes. Also she probably has catnip in her garden at home.
3. She has SO MANY cats around her that I don't get the feeling she names all of them, and only really names the few she's taken into her house and thinks of as "her" cats. Off the top of my head, I could see this particular cat being named something like Button or Magpie.
4. She has SO MANY CATS. And something about her is just a little bit... different. Not bad-different, mind you, just interesting. Cats tend to like her.
Also, about those cats... Anise has a lot of cats, most of which are really just street cats which hang around her/the cafe. But then there are some other cats that... well, a human would be fooled, and Anise usually is, but a cat would be able to tell that is definitely not a cat. Looks like a cat, almost smells like one, more or less acts like one... but definitely, definitely isn't. To a cat they are probably kind of creepy, but not dangerous or aggressive enough to avoid.

C: I'll leave you all with that for now - was gonna make a post tonight but I'm running on allergies and low sleep and yeah I don't think it's going to happen >_>

That first one (plus a combination of the others) gives me an idea, actually; I could do that, but that also reminded me that dietitian or nutritionist jobs exist. And then I could employ her in a bunch of places, like a gym or hospital or something, but I can work from that. Apparently, dietitians and nutritionists are not the same thing, so I'll have to research on that, but that's do-able.
Going that route could also make for some interesting family dynamics to build upon and look into through a career like that or similar.

I'm still on the fence between that or personal trainer, but it seems like I could find something that could combine those, at least, or I can build off of that. I think I have a more solid starting point now.

1. I feel like Hannah would be ambivalent around cats, aww. D: If one started following her a lot, though, she might get annoyed or weirded out.

3. Something supremely uncreative, like Kitty. xD
4. Very tired and not too interesting, but her backpack has all sorts of wonderful dangly straps and pockets that are so much fun to play with!


Also, loving the round summaries and the non-main NPC glossary. xD Handy, but also fun. I'm inordinately amused by the repetition like "The cats that follow Anise everywhere - cats."
