I don't mind some talks about stuff at some point. But I've never been a fan of the reading party stuff. I get a headache from wearing headphones to long and don't like talking much myself to include my take on things or my own readings.

Sounds like a good idea Lizica! Those who wanted to could certainly dress up their profiles to a greater or lesser degree Wouldn't want to pressure anyone into it though, since I can easily imagine some people who were not going to participate in this reading party so actively might not want to "dress up" for it! Also brings me to another thought I had - that it would be good to be able to tag people in reaction posts, but not have to feel guilty about pinging people who would rather not be bothered. With this in mind, I thought it might be good to keep a list of those who would/wouldn't like to be tagged in reaction posts. Mindful of course that those would possibly change as we progress, if some people didn't want to hear reactions to some earlier posts that they didn't like so much but were quite happy to hear reactions to their later posts eg. How do people feel about this? I was originally going to have it as an opt-out list, since I kinda assume most people are pretty happy to get reactions to their writing. But perhaps people feel that opting in would be better?

Opt in would probably be best, I think, just to be safe. I opt in, by the way.

I am still ready to 1) lurk, and 2) wait for the right moment to share memes and gags. (Madlibs with medieval characters will be even more fun once you've read c: ) It makes more sense to me for it to happen in December, not that I wouldn't be able to in November, but for everyone in general.
About profiles - on one hand, my medieval character is definitely not the one I'd choose to put in my profile, and I find it highly amusing to read the old RP post summaries with everybody's display names showing different RP characters. (That's precisely why I just tag people in summaries and don't write their full character names most of the time. >_>) On the other hand, it would probably make it a more fun reading experience if the profiles were back to medieval characters, so I would like to do that for the reading party. ^^
And about tagging, ... I'm scared but I opt in just in case, there might not be much, and I trust y'all to be nice about it.

Totally opting myself in to be tagged and whatnot. It's always fun to talk about past RP events, and to be honest I hope to use this to learn a lot more about the wider Medieval canon as I haven't really had the chance to follow most of the post-game expansions. 8D

Opt-in for discussion pinging is a good idea! I hadn't even considered it, but it's true that there might be a flood of reaction pings coming in to a single writer. Which would be bad if they have no interest in participating in this. XD One random suggestion I have, too: Could it be fun if any Mediveterans change their avatar to whatever their character avvie was during the game? (Or an avvie that suits them--minus any spoilers, of course!) It wouldn't be obligated, of course, but I just sort of enjoy the idea of people reading, say, my posts with my Aldrich avatar rather than with Tracy or something. Ah, excellent evil plan! I shall leave my display name and avatar as Velia Briar, so I can confuse everyone! mwahahaha! (But yes, that's a cute idea. I'll do it if I remember to!)

Ahh, that would be cool! =D I recently realized I never drew Corinne and I didn't remember what she was supposed to look like at all. So I went and read my first post in Medieval to see if I described her at all, and I did! I'm planning on drawing her to have an avatar ready come December!

Ginz ❤, I have precisely one drawing of Corinne somewhere if you want a reference. xD As for tags, I would so be game for reaction posts. I have colour images of both Stallionbros so I will probably put those up during the game. x3 I'm also cool with this being in December, since NaNo is a thing and lots of people are busy (I am okay any time but this is a RP that should not be read while stressed even if it means you will feel what we felt for some events. xD)

I'm 100% cool with people tagging me if they want to react to things my characters get up to. \ o / And I'm also game for dressing up my profile as Morgaine during the reading, although ironically I didn't actually do that during Medieval proper. My profile picture was one of my neopets characters almost the whole time. XD

(Logged in for other reasons but poking my head out of my hiatus-hole to agree that December would be a lot better than November for me, too; I'm onboard with the avatar-ining; and I definitely don't mind being tagged if people are inclined to do so.)

Awesome (: I am compiling a mental list of current opt-ins and will ask more broadly come December in case some people wanted to opt in and hadn't seen this In the mean time of course, please feel free to continue to opt in on this thread now - makes my life easier, haha

I cannot wait to see ALL THE SHIPPING UNFOLD ALL OVER AGAIN
...although that reminds me that there were a few posts that were originally images that might now be broken due to Photobucket being stupid, so maybe we should figure out a way to edit the revised ones back in before we get to those chapters
In any case, I would love to be tagged and squee at all the senpais possibly noticing my characters

Post by Rosalie Dylas (Maddy) on Nov 3, 2017 21:04:14 GMT -5
Hey! You don't know me! And probably won't because I don't really intend to be active in the forum again (sorry!!!) but I was in Medieval and honestly people rereading it and reacting to it gets me really excited! I was Rosalie Dylas (this icon was the one I had a the time too actually so I'm sure a lot of people imagined Rosie looking like Ayano from Kagerou Project whoops). If you want to tag me in posts I'd be fine with that, I'd love to read over everyone's reactions to my girl. I might not be a fan of my writing but I still am fond of where her plot went (though there are aspects I cringe about now).
Also, here's some context to Rosie because her first post is really really confusing if you don't know, so don't worry about this til you start reading. A few months before Medieval was Mafia III also known as Aifam Cove and there are some references I'm sure people will point out when you get to them but I heavily ref'd it in Rosie's opener. Basically, all you need to know is my character in Aifam Cove was named Christopher Dylans and he's Rosie's descendant, he was a Sad Boy(tm) and was blind. He was pretty explicitly talked about in my first post so to avoid confusing everyone about what the heck I was talking about I decided to clear it up early. Also, I think she only does this once but anytime she makes a pinkie promise it's a reference to him because it was kind of his thing.
Also, I think my posts were kind of short and not very meaty because I was really emotionally exhausted from writing him, I don't know if Aifam Cove is known in ntfw lore but it was the heaviest Mafia and that was probably a little my fault I think because I kind of set that tone for Sad.
Anyway, I really hope you love Rosie because I still think about her a lot. There is so many good plot threads that happen in Medieval!! Enjoy!
