Indeed, the scores are more believable now.
But wouldn't that mean that if I add up all the numbers for a single game I should get to 100? I tried some but it doesn't add up. In any case, I might be missing something.

As it turns out, the 'glitch' that I mentioned over the weekend is actually a anti-cheat measure. Not sure how effective it is, but we'll see once sign ups close tomorrow.

The 'scores looking like they count but they actually don't' thing was how we all assumed the quarantine system worked last year. Only reason we didn't hear about it was because the ACGs aren't physically looking and they don't really care about what rank their cheat accounts are. It's strange that there are so many people posting on the boards experiencing the issue this year. Are there that many open cheaters, or is the flagging system just going overboard/were its flagging parameters set too low?

Well, at least they aren't freezing people en masse. It's strange that there are so many people posting on the boards experiencing the issue this year. Are there that many open cheaters, or is the flagging system just going overboard/were its flagging parameters set too low?Curious what exactly these parameters are.

It might have been people playing two games at once, that's against the rules now and some might not be aware of it, especially if they're playing Slushie Slinger.

Man, I don't know, I was feeling not too much into the AC this year before it started, but now? I'm almost afraid to participate. Maybe I'll go for Rank 5 or something low like that.

It's weird--I've been playing like crazy and haven't gotten hit with the quarantine. (Been capping or almost capping YYB and ShoSho every day, plus some Slushie Slinger to fill in the gaps.) Yet there are people at rank 6-7 who have been flagged.
I wonder if it's flagging people who play too consistently. I play for pretty long periods of time, but I watch TV while I play so my scores vary and have varying gaps between them. I also take a lot of breaks.

Thank you for rising to the challenge to join Altador Cup XII, a tournament that once again pits 18 teams, representing the lands of Neopia, against each other!
This year, unlike the ones before, tournament play is composed of two rounds. Your team will play against every other team once in the first round. In the second round, based on your performance, you will be placed into one of three brackets. You will then play against the teams within your respective bracket, which will ultimately allow for some exciting upward movement for teams that did not do well in the round robin, but excelled in the finals!
Each day, your team will face an opponent. You may contribute as much as you can to your team by playing not only Yooyuball, but also Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown. Don't forget to visit the official Rules page for more details!
Anyone else get this Neomail?

I mean from the wording, it sounds like it's being sent to people that signed up but aren't playing, but from reports on the boards that doesn't seem to be the case. It appears that there was no rhyme or reason as to who got the NMs. Kinda reminiscent of those 'change your password' NMs that only went out to a chunk of players a few months ago.

I've signed up but haven't played a single game, but I haven't gotten any NM's, at least not yet.
The AC is something I barely participate in anyway, but for some reason this time I have no motivation to play it at all. Not so much to do with wonky scores or cheating, but I dunno, I haven't really been on Neopets in general lately, I feel less attached.

Oh, wow, the Bye Day is actually a Bye Day! You can't rank up today... after I spent an hour and a half playing Yooyuball, lol! Guess that's what I get for not looking at my number of wins every so often...

In any case, I might be missing something. This. I can understand it being maybe 99 or 101 due to rounding, but one of them I just tried added up to 92. Shouldn't it be closer than that? Is the practice team an invisible member every day?? And if so, how do they figure that out?

The thinking is that they are rounded down, meaning that in practice the total hovers around 90. Except when there is a draw, in which case the higher raw figure is rounded up.
